Deanes Valley Campground is located approximately 7 miles southwest of Quincy
along the 24N28 Road in the Meadow Valley area. It is one of the few
campgrounds on the Mt. Hough Ranger District that allows OHV trail access
directly from the campground.

There is a vault toilet, but no piped water.

There are a total of 7 campsites that operate on a "first come-first serve"
basis.  Several sites are along the creek. The campground accommodates both
tents and small trailers.

Rock Creek Campground (CA)

Snake Lake is located in the Meadow Valley area off of Bucks Lake Road and
boasts shady lakeside campsites for tents, RVs, OHVs and horses.  It is one of
the few campgrounds on the Mt. Hough Ranger District that allows OHV trail
access directly from the campground.

This multi-use campsite has 17 sites; 8 of them with corrals for equestrian
campers.  There are no hookups.  Horses are allowed overnight in equestrian
campsites only, and corrals are also available.

Activities include fishing, hiking, horseback riding, OHV use and non-
motorized boating. Snake Lake is not recommended for swimming.

Whitehorse campground is located within three miles of Bucks Lake in the
northern Sierra Mountains on the Plumas National Forest. The Bucks Lake area
offers year-round recreation activities including fishing, hiking,
snowmobiling, skiing,snowshoeing and horseback riding.

## Recreation

Staying at the Whitehorse campground provides access to several activites
located in the greater Bucks Lake area. Fishing, boating, and canoeing, as
well as hiking are all activities that can be achieved by staying in this
campground. There are walking trails to the lake. A hiking trail runs from the
campground and provides access to the Bucks Lake Wilderness and the Pacific
Crest Trail. Marinas and boat docks are also within a short drive as well as
restaurants at the Lakeside Resort and Bucks Lake Lodge which will re-open
under new management in the summer for 2025, weather permitting. Limited
supplies and a deli are located at the Haskins Valley Store just a short drive
away.

Your camping fees make a difference!!! In 2024 this campground recieved new
concrete picnic tables and bear proof food storage lockers in most campsites.
Vault toilets, water and trash services are on site as well.

Sandy Point Day Use Area and Boat Launch

Large landscape views of trees and valleys can be seen along the six mile
drive to Silver Lake. Sitting at just over 6,000 ft in elevation, the Silver
lake campground set up for solitude and tranquility. The sites are spread out
and isolated to provide for an optimal quiet experience to enhance the camping
experience. Easy access to hiking trails, high alpine lakes and OHV riding is
just a short distance from the campground.

## Recreation

High alpine lakes, granite boulders and blue bird skies are treats for those
who camp here. Access to hiking is located along the eastern side of Silver
Lake. Continue up and on to Bucks Summit on the PCT or climb the prominent
Spanish Peak where the ole look out once stood.

OHV routes also leave from the campground area but were severely impacted by
the Dixie Fire in 2021 and have not been maintained so be aware of hazard
trees and other debris that might slow down your route.

Tooms RV Campground

## Overview

Hutchins Group Campground is the perfect location for groups who want to
explore the greater Bucks Lake area of the Plumas National Forest. This
campground was severely impacted by the Dixie Fire in 2021. Timber salvage
management has left the campground barren and hot so prepare by providing
adequate shade for your stay.  
  
American Land & Leisure are the concession operators working for PG&E; to
service the campgrounds, boat ramps and day use areas that are owned by the
USDA Forest Service.

## Recreation

The greater Bucks Lake area provides ample opportunities for fishing, boating,
and canoeing. The boat ramp at Shady Point provides a boat dock to launch
boats, showers, and day use picnicking. Hiking trails are only a short drive
away with trailheads located in the Mill Creek Campground, Mill Creek
Trailhead on the way to Bucks Summit, and at Bucks Summit where the PCT or
Bucks Creek Loop trail are located.  
  

## Facilities

THIS CAMPGROUND CURRENTLY HAS NO WATER. Water is available at the nearby Sandy
Point Day Use Area and Haskins Campground.

The campground offers three large group campsites for tent and RV camping.
Each site has a limit of eight vehicles and 24 people.  
  
Multiple tables and campfire rings with grills are provided, as well as vault
toilets . A roving campground host is available intermittently to answer
questions and provide additional information.  
  
There are several boat ramps available around the perimeter of the 1,820-acre
lake, including the closest one to Hutchins, at Sandy Point. A convenience
store with gas, phone and propane is located within five miles of the
campground.

## Natural Features

At a 5,000-foot elevation, Hutchins campground provides a great jumping off
point to explore the greater Bucks Lake area. Hot days, followed by cooler
nights, provide the perfect atmosphere for camping. This campground would be a
great place for star gazers night owls who really appreciate a wide open sky
for night viewing.

<p>Hutchins Group Campground is the perfect location for groups who want to explore the greater Bucks Lake area of the Plumas National Forest.  This campground was severely impacted by the Dixie Fire in 2021. Timber salvage management has left the campground barren and hot so prepare by providing adequate shade for your stay. <br> <br>American Land & Leisure are the concession operators working for PG&E to service the campgrounds, boat ramps and day use areas that are owned by the USDA Forest Service. </p>

<p>The greater Bucks Lake area provides ample opportunities for fishing, boating, and canoeing. The boat ramp at Shady Point provides a boat dock to launch boats, showers, and day use picnicking. Hiking trails are only a short drive away with trailheads located in the Mill Creek Campground, Mill Creek Trailhead on the way to Bucks Summit, and at Bucks Summit where the PCT or Bucks Creek Loop trail are located. <br> <br></p>

<p>The campground offers three large group campsites for tent and RV camping. Each site has a limit of eight vehicles and 24 people. <br> <br>Multiple tables and campfire rings with grills are provided, as well as vault toilets . A roving campground host is available intermittently to answer questions and provide additional information. <br> <br>There are several boat ramps available around the perimeter of the 1,820-acre lake, including the closest one to Hutchins, at Sandy Point. A convenience store with gas, phone and propane is located within five miles of the campground.</p>

<p>At a 5,000-foot elevation, Hutchins campground provides a great jumping off point to explore the greater Bucks Lake area. Hot days, followed by cooler nights, provide the perfect atmosphere for camping. This campground would be a great place for star gazers night owls who really appreciate a wide open sky for night viewing. </p>

The campground is located within walking distance of Bucks Lake. Bucks Lake Wilderness borders the lake and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail System traverses the surrounding area. campground is the largest campground at the reservoir and is adjacent to a
swimming beach, boat launch ramp, amphitheater, and Lakeshore Trail.

## Recreation

Little Grass Valley Recreation Area offers opportunities for many recreation
experiences. Three boat launch ramps provide access to the water for fishing,
water-skiing, sailing, or simply touring on boats. There is a wheel chair
accessible fishing ramp at the dam. Two beaches provide excellent swimming and
picnicking opportunities - one of which is located adjacent to the Little
Beaver Campground. The Lakeshore Trail (13.5 miles) winds around the entire
lake and is open for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. Additional
hiking trails abound in the area and include the nearby Pacific Crest Trail.
Visitors may also enjoy watching wildlife, campfire programs, or exploring
nearby historic gold mining towns.

The facility offers 120 campsites, flush toilets, and drinking water. Each
campsite has a picnic table and campfire ring. For RVs, a dump station and
drinking water are available within one mile. For visitors wanting to

creek, the area offers scenic views of the lake and Bald Mountain. Surrounding

Hallsted campground is conveniently situated in the Feather River Canyon, just
off the main road in the northern Sierra Nevada Mountains. At an elevation of
2,300 feet, it offers a cool getaway from the summer heat, as well as a
variety of outdoor activities  
  
The route on the nearby Feather River National Scenic Byway traverses a
steeply carved river gorge that encapsulates the historic railroad system from
Oroville to Quincy and impressive powerhouses built to provide
hydroelectricity.

Fly fishing for trout and swimming are popular activities in the nearby north
fork of the Feather River.

offers multiple single-family sites, accommodating both tent and trailer
camping. Tables and campfire rings with grills are provided, as well as flush

lengthened as well as multiple sites now have power. The shower and bathroom
facilities are all new. In addition, a nice walking path meanders through the
forest and takes you down to the North Fork of the Feather River.

perfect atmosphere for mountain camping. Several sites parallel the north fork
