Inyo National Forest

Reviews

Inyo National Forest campgrounds continue to impress with their beautiful, spacious sites and well-maintained, clean restrooms. Visitors appreciate the helpful camp hosts and proximity to natural features like creeks and lakes. While some sites offer seclusion and quiet even close to town, campers are reminded to secure food in bear boxes due to aggressive wildlife. The presence of vault toilets remains a downside, though the cleanliness and posted cleaning schedules are notable. Roads within some campgrounds can be rough and narrow, particularly challenging for large RVs. Noise from other campers occasionally disrupts the peaceful experience, and summer heat and wind remain a challenge at certain sites.

Spotless and well-maintained restroom facilities
Spacious campsites with creek and mountain views
Friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable camp hosts
Proximity to natural features like creeks and hiking trailheads
On-site amenities including firewood for sale and food lockers
Vault toilets are standard, lacking showers at most sites
Narrow and rough roads challenge large RV and trailer access
Some noise disturbances from other campers, especially past quiet hours
Wildlife activity requires strict adherence to food storage rules
Some sites lack shade and can be hot and windy in summer

We have stayed here many times over the years. The current camp hosts, and for the past 3 years Suzanne and Shane are outstanding! A backup host, a very young man, is still being trained. bCommitted to making sure the campground is in tiptop shape, with bathrooms cleaned (and I mean clean) daily, sites prepped with fire pits empty of ash, micro trash is removed from sites and on and on, Suzanne and Shane make this camping experience the best it can be. The location is fabulous. Great selection of reserved sites and first come first serve as well.

This was a first time camping at Oh! Ridge after years of camping elsewhere in the Loop. We had a clean spacious spot, the roads were well marked, all if the hosts were friendly and helpful, and it was a nice walk to the lake! Will definitely look into another trip to Oh! Ridge Campground next time!

The camp host went out of his way to welcome us ( and i saw him do the same to other campers) . He was informative and appeared genuinely interested in camper having a good experience. The access to multiple levels of bike trails was fantastic. The camp store had the basics and the showers, although expensive, were very much appreciated after a day or two.

Disappointed that site 38 was not listed as a maintenance worker site. We thought we had 3 contiguous sites. Also the maintenance worker had a tv loud enough that it interfered with our enjoyment of June Lake.
Popularity: Very busy

Busiest in August, when about 87% of guest capacity is reserved. Based on 11 years of reservations.
