Directions
From Highway 395, turn west on Crocker Street in Big Pine, the continue west up Big Pine
Canyon Road for 10 miles to end of road. Turn left crossing Big Pine Creek
and left again past Glacier Lodge for 100 yards.
Stay Limit
Check in from 2 PM, check out by 11 AM.

We stayed in site 29 in August We had just a tent and car, but there is room for an RV. The campground was full, but there was plenty of natural screening to provide privacy as well as shade. The facilities were clean. Water is from nearby Big Pine Creek - bring your filter if you plan to drink it. The main current is swift, but we enjoyed some protected pools alongside a pleasant beach. Great location for day hikes up the North or South Fork trails or as a staging location before a longer backcountry trek.

The Big Pine Creek Campground does not provide any portable water due to multiyear long repair the water supply system per campsite host's later explanation. But we did not see any warning notice during booing nor when we arrived the site. We wasted a lot of time the first night tried to find portable water but get not result. We ended up to get water from Big Pine Creek. Please provide a warning notice at website or a big sign at the campground entrance so that campers can see it day or night.

Wow what an incredible place to camp! We stayed here with our 11 month old and 4 year old and it was amazing. The sound of the creek was so loud (in the best way) and drowned out the sounds of our kiddos in the early morning and night- thankfully!
The creek was an incredible place to cool off. The bathrooms were clean. The proximity to the hikes was perfect. My husband and I + 2 kids hiked about 2 miles up to the waterfalls but my brother did over 13 miles round trip and loved it.
There isn’t running water/ water spigots but there is the creek and a general store for ice and other amenities so it’s not as obsolete as other reviews led me to believe.
We brought bikes as we were en route to Yosemite. We didn’t get out and about much on the bikes but they were nice to have around camp.
We enjoyed the playground and the small fishing pond.
Also for our visit- end of July/ early August, we didn’t experience any bugs or pesty animals (a relief compared to some campgrounds we’ve been to!)
Overall epic campground and I highly recommend for anyone.

The camp hosts are the best. I can see they get their inspiration to be good because it’s a beautiful place. And they are also just wonderful people. I can’t speak more highly of this place, and if I say too much, it will make it harder to return.

Camp hosts were awesome and attentive. Sites and restrooms were meticulously clean. Some sites run along the well flowing creek. Trailhead was walking distance. Highly recommend.
