Great site away from the main campground. Far enough from creek that there were few mosquitos. A bit exposed (super sunny during the day-- bring some easy-ups to shade tables). The bathroom did smell when there was a down canyon wind.

There was a clear breakdown in campground management during my stay. On my second day, I was unable to purchase firewood at either Sage Flat Campground or Upper Sage Flat Campground. . As a result, I had to drive all the way to Big Pine Creek Campground near Glacier Lodge just to buy firewood. This unnecessary trip took a significant amount of time and could have been avoided with proper campground management and staffing. Firewood is a basic necessity for campers, and it should be readily available at the campground where guests are staying.

Perfect campsite. Easy to access, clean, plenty of parking and space for tents. Location is great and the shade provided by the trees made enjoying the campsite during the day easy. I will be back.

Great area for a large group of people. We had 16 men and the grill area was very useful.

The site was large enough for 2 4-person tents and 1 large 8-person tent. We did not realize we were sharing a restroom with the Clyde Glacier Group Site. So, you had 2 restrooms for over 35 people. Also, the Clyde Glacier group shared the same trash bin. The trash bin is located at Palisades Group Site. Also keep in mind this site was infested with bees. We had one person get stung, but the bees were attracted to the food. Best time was at night; view of the stars was incredible. Great site if you are going to do the big pine hike. Overall, we had a great time exploring nearby at Mammoth which was 40 minute drive.

Great amount of space for 4+ people, excellent valley views, and streamside feel. Palisade Glacier campsite was secluded from other campers and had 4 parking spots with 4+ spots for tents. There was also a nice dumpster and 2 bear boxes for food. 2 potable waterspouts are accessible near the campsite along with 2 bathrooms. About a mile from the Big Pine trailhead, so I recommend driving to the day use parking lot for hikes.
