Access this 14-mile system of stacked loops from the Motorcycle Loop Trailhead
along FR 66 west of Lake Delancy, or from a number of connecting trails - the
Hog Valley Trail, Tobacco Patch Trail, Longleaf Pine Trail and Pipeline Trail.

The Ocala North OHV Trail System offers 125 miles of trail which includes a
14-mile motorcycle-only trail; 35 miles of trail usable by motorcycles, all
terrain vehicles (ATVs), and utility vehicles (UTVs) less than 50 inches wide;
and 76 miles classified as "mixed use," which means OHVs share the trail with
licensed vehicles.

  * Tent and small trailer camping is available at 30 sites within the pine forest along the western shore of Lake Delancy. All sites are within close proximity to the OHV corral, the Ocala North OHV Trail System and the Florida Trail. Heads up: Bears do frequent this area. You are required to store your food in a bear-proof container or in your vehicle.

**Fishing**

  * We provide access to the lakeshore marshes for fishing. Perfect for tossing one on the fire for dinner while camping. 

**Hiking**

  * Backpackers use the Lake Delancy West Recreation Area as a designated campground along the Florida Trail. The campground is 0.3 mile from the main trail. Segments of the Florida Trail run north and south of this point: North heads from Lake Delancy to Rodman Reservoir and  
south runs to Salt Springs.

**OHV Riding**

  * OHV riders are welcome to camp at Lake Delancy, the major entrance point for the Ocala North OHV Trail System. A large OHV corral outside of the campground area gives you a place to park your ATV at night.

**Picnicking**

  * Day users can enjoy a picnic with a view of Lake Delancy while sitting under the shade of the longleaf pines.

Lake Delancy East Campground

Deep in the floodplain forest along the Ocklawaha River, Davenport Landing is
a former steamboat stop along this twisting, winding waterway. Three primitive
campsites provide a stop for paddlers working their way along the river.

**Boating**

  * Paddle your canoe or kayak across the beautiful waters of Davenport Lading in search of a quiet spot along the shoreline. 

**Fishing**

  * Sitting along the Ocklawaha River, this is the perfect location to cast a line from the shallows for a chance to catch that big one. Just keep an eye out for any alligators that may be roaming the area. 

**Hiking**

  * The Davenport Landing Trail is a 0.6-mile interpretive walk to a former steamboat landing along the Ocklawaha River (1.2 mile round-trip). Since it is within the river's floodplain area, expect a high concentration of mosquitoes and dress / prepare accordingly.

**Interpretive Area  **

  * In addition to leading you to the site of a historic steamboat landing, interpretive information along the Davenport Landing Trail includes middens along the Ocklawaha River from the Timucuan period as well as a Civil War-era gravesite.

**Primitive Camping  **

  * Three primitive sites, maximum 15 people total (five per campsite). Four-day stay limit. Primitive campsites can be used by individuals camping with tents or any motorized vehicle. These specific areas in the forest offer no facilities.

  * While any motorized vehicle is permitted in these primitive campsites, not all areas are accessible by all types of vehicles. Sandy and narrow woods roads may make navigation difficult or impossible for some vehicles. Visitors should treat these roads with cautious respect.

Davenport Landing

The 19-mile Pipeline OHV Trail is one of the easiest OHV trails to access
within the Ocala National Forest, with a prominent trailhead along SR 316
between Salt Springs and Eureka.  
  
Open to motorcycles and ATVs, the trail includes some sharply banked curves
through the scrub at the north end of the northernmost of the three stacked
loops. Use the Pipeline Trail to access to the Tobacco Patch OHV Trail, Hog
Valley OHV Trail, Longleaf OHV Trail and the Motorcycle Loop.

Delancy West OHV Trailhead

## Overview

Salt Springs Recreation Area is one the recreational jewels of the Ocala
National Forest, with a spectacular natural mineral spring that gives the area
its name. Plenty of outdoor activities keep campers and day-use visitors busy,
including swimming in the springs, fishing, snorkeling, hiking and boating.
Salt Springs is located between the St. Johns and Ocklawaha Rivers, 35 miles
east of Ocala, Florida.  
  
The national forest spans four counties and 383,000 acres. It is the
southernmost and oldest national forest east of the Mississippi River, and
protects the world's largest, contiguous sand pine scrub forest.

## Recreation

The natural springs, nearby Lake George and many surrounding rivers and
streams provide ample opportunity for water recreation. Anglers can try a good
fishing spot on Salt Springs Run, downstream of the swimming area, boat ramp
and marina. Boat rentals are nearby.  
  
For those who wish to explore on land, the facility has basketball courts and
a horseshoe pit. Hikers have easy access to the Bear Swamp Trail and a segment
of the 1,400-mile Florida National Scenic Trail.

## Facilities

Salt Springs is the largest campground in the Ocala National Forest and the
only one with full hookups for RVs. The facility offers spacious campsites for
RVs and trailers, as well as a designated tent-only area, which is a short
walk from the parking area. Sites are nicely shaded and well away from the
busy day-use area.  
  
The recreation area and campground are located in the community of Salt
Springs, which has a gas station, grocery store, several restaurants, bait and
tackle shops, a post office, laundromat and visitor center.

## Natural Features

The semi-tropical region gives the campground a mixture of pines and palms,
with lush greenery and warm temperatures. Within the recreation area, a
natural spring rises from cracks deep within the earth. The presence of
potassium, magnesium and sodium salts give the waters a slight salinity -
hence the name Salt Springs.

Salt Springs Recreation Area is one the recreational jewels of the Ocala National Forest, with a spectacular natural mineral spring that gives the area its name. Plenty of outdoor activities keep campers and day-use visitors busy, including swimming in the springs, fishing, snorkeling, hiking and boating. Salt Springs is located between the St. Johns and Ocklawaha Rivers, 35 miles east of Ocala, Florida.

The national forest spans four counties and 383,000 acres. It is the southernmost and oldest national forest east of the Mississippi River, and protects the world's largest, contiguous sand pine scrub forest.<h2>Recreation</h2>
The natural springs, nearby Lake George and many surrounding rivers and streams provide ample opportunity for water recreation. Anglers can try a good fishing spot on Salt Springs Run, downstream of the swimming area, boat ramp and marina. Boat rentals are nearby.

For those who wish to explore on land, the facility has basketball courts and a horseshoe pit. Hikers have easy access to the Bear Swamp Trail and a segment of the 1,400-mile Florida National Scenic Trail.<h2>Facilities</h2>
Salt Springs is the largest campground in the Ocala National Forest and the only one with full hookups for RVs. The facility offers spacious campsites for RVs and trailers, as well as a designated tent-only area, which is a short walk from the parking area. Sites are nicely shaded and well away from the busy day-use area.

The recreation area and campground are located in the community of Salt Springs, which has a gas station, grocery store, several restaurants, bait and tackle shops, a post office, laundromat and visitor center.<h2>Natural Features</h2>
The semi-tropical region gives the campground a mixture of pines and palms, with lush greenery and warm temperatures. Within the recreation area, a natural spring rises from cracks deep within the earth. The presence of potassium, magnesium and sodium salts give the waters a slight salinity - hence the name Salt Springs.

## Overview

Lake Shore Group Campground sits on the north shore of Fore Lake in Ocala
National Forest. It is a favorite for scout, church and civic groups, as well
as large families and reunions.

Fore Lake is an excellent spot for birding. Visitors can also picnic and fish
along the shore. Campers who wish to venture out into the water can launch
their electric-motor boats, canoes and kayaks from the facility's boat ramp.  
  
Swimming is allowed, but campers should be aware that there are alligators in
this lake.

## Facilities

Lake Shore Group Camp is for tent camping, however RVs are allowed in the
small parking area. The site can accommodate up to 50 guests and there are
campsites in the shade and in the sun, all within sight of the lake. The
centerpiece of the facility is the large accessible picnic shelter, perfect
for group gatherings. A group grill, picnic tables and a restroom with showers
and flush toilets are available.  
  
The lake is situated in the historic community of Scrambletown, which has a
store.

hammock on a peninsula surrounded by the prairie, where cool breezes blow in
when there is a little water in the prairie.

  * Hopkins Prairie is a designated camping area with minimal facilities, open seasonally.

entertained.

The Centennial Trailhead provides parking and northern access to the 47-mile
Ocala Centennial Trail. Various sites and facilities are located along the
trail. At Blue Sink and Farles Prairie, visitors can take a break from riding
and enjoy some fishing, wading, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. Special OHV
parking corrals are located periodically along the trail so riders can stop at
the day-use recreation sites and at Big Scrub Campground. Corrals are only for
parking, not for loading and unloading trailered vehicles.

This trailhead provides access to trails for ATVs, UTVs and motorcycles.

Centennial OHV Trailhead

## Overview

Juniper Springs Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds in the Ocala
National Forest. The location offers deeply shaded sites within walking
distance of some of Florida's most beautiful natural springs. The surrounding
recreation area has plenty of activities to entertain visitors, including
swimming, picnicking, canoeing, snorkeling, hiking, birding and wildlife
viewing.  
  
This campground was named one of Reserve America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds
in the United States.

## Recreation

Visitors love swimming in a 72-degree, natural pool found in the day use area.
Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, it is more developed with a
pool-like look.

Paddling Juniper Run is also extremely popular year-round. Juniper Run is
recognized as one of the top 25 canoe runs in America by ReserveAmerica. This
7-mile waterway winds through a scenic landscape, surrounded by a dense canopy
of ancient trees in an old-growth forest.

While the journey offers picturesque scenery, it's important to highlight that
**Juniper Run is not suitable for beginners due to its challenging course and
changing conditions**. The run travels through a National Wilderness Area, and
as defined in The Wilderness Act of 1967 Section 4(c): "There shall be no use
of motor vehicles, motorized equipment, or motorboats, no landing of aircraft,
no other form of mechanical transport, and no structure or installation within
any such area." So, clearing the run is limited to hand tools only. The run
often has hazards overhead and underwater that make navigation difficult -

Back on land, campers can spend a day in the woods on a segment of the
statewide Florida National Scenic Trail, or walk a shorter nature trail within
the facility. Interpretive programs are available during summer months.

## Facilities

The facility is divided into a day use area and campground. Campsites are
arranged into three loops near the creek and springs. All sites are shaded and
equipped with a picnic table, grill, campfire ring, lantern post and space for
tents. There are no sites with full hookups. Other amenities include hot
showers, flush toilets and dump station.  
  
  
  
A convenience store with camping supplies, beach supplies, drinks and ice
cream is nearby. Restaurants, shopping and gas are just 10 miles from
campground.

## Natural Features

The natural springs are at the heart of this recreation area. Hundreds of
bubbling springs emerge from crevices in the earth beneath a dense canopy of
palms and oaks - an oasis within the heart of the desert-like Big Scrub
ecosystem for which the national forest is known.  
  
Abundant wildlife inhabitant the area, including alligators, turtles, deer,
black bear, turkey, raccoons and numerous species of birds, as well as
uncommon species like the albino gray squirrel, river otters and American
eels.

Juniper Springs Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds in the Ocala National Forest. The location offers deeply shaded sites within walking distance of some of Florida's most beautiful natural springs. The surrounding recreation area has plenty of activities to entertain visitors, including swimming, picnicking, canoeing, snorkeling, hiking, birding and wildlife viewing.

This campground was named one of Reserve America's Top 100 Family Campgrounds in the United States.<h2>Recreation</h2>
<p>Visitors love swimming in a 72-degree, natural pool found in the day use area. Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, it is more developed with a pool-like look.   </p>
<p>Paddling Juniper Run is also extremely popular year-round. Juniper Run is recognized as one of the top 25 canoe runs in America by ReserveAmerica. This 7-mile waterway winds through a scenic landscape, surrounded by a dense canopy of ancient trees in an old-growth forest.</p>
<p>While the journey offers picturesque scenery, it's important to highlight that <strong>Juniper Run is not suitable for beginners due to its challenging course and changing conditions</strong>. The run travels through a National Wilderness Area, and as defined in The Wilderness Act of 1967 Section 4(c): "There shall be no use of motor vehicles, motorized equipment, or motorboats, no landing of aircraft, no other form of mechanical transport, and no structure or installation within any such area." So, clearing the run is limited to hand tools only. The run often has hazards overhead and underwater that make navigation difficult - even for seasoned paddlers. <p><br><br>Back on land, campers can spend a day in the woods on a segment of the statewide Florida National Scenic Trail, or walk a shorter nature trail within the facility. Interpretive programs are available during summer months.</p>
<h2>Facilities</h2>
<p>The facility is divided into a day use area and campground. Campsites are arranged into three loops near the creek and springs. All sites are shaded and equipped with a picnic table, grill, campfire ring, lantern post and space for tents. There are no sites with full hookups. Other amenities include hot showers, flush toilets and dump station.<br><br><br><br>A convenience store with camping supplies, beach supplies, drinks and ice cream is nearby. Restaurants, shopping and gas are just 10 miles from campground.</p>
<h2>Natural Features</h2>
The natural springs are at the heart of this recreation area. Hundreds of bubbling springs emerge from crevices in the earth beneath a dense canopy of palms and oaks - an oasis within the heart of the desert-like Big Scrub ecosystem for which the national forest is known.

Abundant wildlife inhabitant the area, including alligators, turtles, deer, black bear, turkey, raccoons and numerous species of birds, as well as uncommon species like the albino gray squirrel, river otters and American eels.
