The space was clean and spacious for primitive camping. It was half empty and quiet fairly often which was really nice. The bathroom was one of those vault-types and the water was a pump well. There’s no boil the water sign at the well? I used it for cleaning pots and pan but not for brushing my teeth or cooking. The lake was beautiful and decent for fishing (if you ever caught anything, I didn’t). The trash cans by the lake side were over flowing so make sure you take your trash to the camp garbage cans. But I would come again!

The campground was fine, with one exception- the TICKS. I have never been at another campground with so many ticks. We pulled dozens of the little buggers off the dog, and a good handful off ourselves, even with bugspray. I've camped at Juniper Springs and Alexander Springs, both also in the Ocala National Forest, and never even had to worry about them. I have no idea what this place is doing differently, but they are a problem.

Lake Eaton is a fantastic spot to camp with friends. Only thing that could have been better maintained is the outhouse. Needed more enzymes methane was horrible.

Nice, quiet campground - no frills, which is why I chose it. Trails from the campground connect within 1/4 mile of the Florida Trail, which made this campsite a perfect spot for some longer day hikes. The lake was a beautiful benefit.

It is a decent campground, with some sites offering more privacy than others. It would have been a great camping trip if two of our neighbors would have shut off their generators, but we got very little sleep with two generators running all night. A late arrival also drove around camp several times, trying to find their site in the dark. I would have thought the camp host would’ve helped the late arrival find their site, and tell the other campers to shut off their generators during quiet hours, but we never saw them. It

Simple campground. Single outhouse. Basic site. Area was generally clean & well maintained. ORV noise & loud campers blasting music in other sites but the campground & water access was good. Camp host didn't make himself known. Sat in his site the entire day I was there. Not even wave as I left. Lake Eaton is a fine place. Can't do much about fellow humans behaviors

It was peaceful and overall relatively quiet, except for the chainsaw every night around 7:00. Each site had a picnic table, fire ring, grill, and bear box to lock up your food. The bathroom was exceptionally clean. I would definitely stay again.

Campground is decent. Some of the fellow campers that were there were not. Drinking, talking and burping loud - come on. Zero respect to the rest of us that actually wanted to enjoy the outdoors.

Enjoyable primitive campground with groomed campsites. Must bring your own firewood for campfires but has nice fire rings with grill and picnic table. Only one vault (pit) toilet for the 14 campsites but is well maintained, clean and never had a problem accessing it. Not an overwhelming amount of mosquitos but definitely some there - I needed repellant. Campsite is not really near very much - can get gasoline and supplies a few miles away and Juniper Springs is nearby enough that Lake Eaton is an alternate site for it if that campsite is full, though much more primitive than Juniper Springs.

Although the surroundings are worth the trip alone, the campgrounds could use a little love. The compost bathroom had clearly not been attended to very recently as the smell was extremely strong (a smell is to be expected but this was intense). The campsites are a bit overgrown and if you're looking for a private experience this is not the place. Be prepared to drive down a long sandy road with multiple craters that are the width of the road (still traversable with caution). There is a water spout, but not clear if it is drinkable. Town is close by with amenities. The boat launch nearby is gorgeous, especially at night. Lots of cool critters and noises. Very pretty sunsets as well. We did see some small black bears nearby (something we had hoped for) which was cool. All in all, a decent place to lay your bones but there are plenty of other options out there for the same price with showers.

The site I was in was located next to an RV and they had an old outdated noisy generator that was so loud and the exhaust from it blew directly into my campsite and I left a day early and had paid for that night and hadn’t used it , and rather than get a refund I just let it go. I went back over to another campground for peace and quiet and fresh air

A nice quiet little campsite. The road leading in needs some work with 3 giant potholes before you get to camp. Not ideal for anyone in a small car. There is firewood for sale not far from camp as well. Lots of ticks so be cautious. The camp volunteer kept the vault toilet relatively clean and stocked. Overall, very relaxing.

The absolute worst road ever to get in there, no signs on the main road to even find it easily, and to top it off the worst campground host ever!!! We will not be back there!! Oh and forgot to mention “0” cell signal

Great little campground! We had zero T-Mobile service, but Verizon worked well. No amenities, and sites 2 and 3 are a bit close together, but we had a great stay. It was nice and quiet during the week, but pretty busy over the weekend.

This is definitely not someplace you want to take a camper or RV unless you really like poorly maintained dirt roads. There are some pretty big potholes you're going to have to go through and overall getting there is not a fun experience. Can't comment on actually camping there because we decided not to.

Beautiful campground. USE BUG SPRAY. I got into a nest of ticks within the confines of my campground. Don't be like me.
