Directions
Take U.S. Highway 395 through Bridgeport. Turn south on Twin Lakes Road at the Shell gas station. Travel 9.3 miles on Twin Lakes Road. Turn left into the campground.

What a beautiful location! Our visit was very serene, minus the occaisional speeder through the campground. Mike, the campground host, was helpful and the bathrooms were quite clean.

Wonderful host and bathroom was clean.
I had two different sites. Both had no privacy. One site I got had full sun exposure and very unpleasant during the day. Community pathways cut through both individual camp sites. Although the site I stayed for the first 2 days had trees around and partially shaded, the afternoon sun hit the bearbox. Another site I had for the 3rd day was completely sun exposed. The bearbox in both sites were heated in the sun and became like a slow cooking oven. Not the campground I will choose for summer camping.
It will be a good place to go late spring/early summer and fall.

I have been camping at Robinson Creek for 59 years. This year, I stayed for 13 days. I am very frustrated with the conditions of the facilities. The campground rates keep going up, but the facilities never improve. For years now, the third stall in the women's restroom has closed because the toilet overflows due to a broken flushing mechanism. Additionally, the first stall in the women's restroom leaks so the floor is always wet. This has been going on for years.
Additionally, recreation.gov changed the reservation policy for this campground and forces full weekend reservations. Before this pollciy took effect, many campers vacationed for a full week - Saturday to the following Saturday. Due to this policy change which took effect a couple of years ago, the campground seems more of a weekend getaway instead of an extended vacation destination. This rule change discourages week-long family vacations and encourages weekenders who don't have the same respect and appreciation for the beauty of the Sierras. Also, although reservations are extremely difficult to get, reservations sites remain empty for a majority of the time that I was camping. It seems that empty sites has been exasperated by the weekend rule.
