north of the cabins. Fishing is available from the shore, however, the only
boating allowed on the reservoir is non-motorized. The reservoir also has
several RV sites which can accommodate larger RVs in addition to pit toilets.
Gooseberry Campground is approximately 3/4 mile to the south and has several
campsites for tents and small to medium RVs, drinking water, and pit toilets
are available. A fee is required at both of these sites.  
  
Within 10 miles of the cabins, there are several other lakes and reservoirs.
Please check fishing and boating laws for the reservoirs. Access to the
Arapeen OHV trail system is available within a few miles of the cabins.

## Facilities

The Mammoth Cabin and Lake Cabin have water with a flush toilet and shower in
the bathrooms; kitchens are equipped with sinks, stove, and simple cookware
(pots/pans, silverware, utensils). A refrigeration unit is not available in
the cabins so please plan accordingly. Basic cleaning supplies are provided
along with toilet paper. The Mammoth Cabin has two sets of bunk beds with
mattresses. The Lake Cabin has two sets of bunk beds with mattresses. The
Mammoth Cabin and Lake Cabin can be reserved either individually or together.
The Mammoth Cabin has a wood burning stove as an additional source of heat.
Pets are not permitted inside the cabins.The garage is used by Forest Service
personnel. Please do not block access to the garage.

## Natural Features

The cabins are situated in a spruce, fir and aspen forest setting with many
mature trees on the facility grounds. You can view wildlife from the front
porch of either cabin in the open meadows in the immediate area, including
deer, elk, badger, eagles, hawks and more. The Mammoth Cabin receives the most
shaded sunlight, while the Lake Cabin receives more direct sunlight.

## Nearby Attractions

Located in the Fairview City Museum there is a life size replica of a
Columbian Mammoth that was found approximately 10 miles southeast of the
cabins. The museum also offers exhibits with artifacts and history from the
native people of the area as well as a history of the later settlers. There is
access to the 350+ mile Arapeen trail system to the south as well as the
Forest roads to the north.

basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to

There are many recreational activities available including hiking, biking,

Trail. It is a gentle, walk along a small mountain stream, usually well
maintained and easy to follow.

This campground is a small remote horse friendly campground with six
campsites. The site is in an open area with partial shade. You will find
parking for horse trailers as well as parking for the Fish Creek National
Recreation Trail which begins on-site.

Amenities include a vaulted toilet, picnic tables, fire rings and a horse
corral. Water and garbage service is not available. This is a "pack it in,
pack it out" facility.

## Natural Features

Fish Creek runs down a wide, gently sloping canyon from a point near Skyline
Drive to the Scofield Reservoir. The canyon is popular with hunters because of
the abundance of deer and elk in the area. Deer are everywhere, but the elk
seem to prefer grazing in the large, open meadows high above the south bank of
the creek. Take along a pair of binoculars and stop occasionally to scan these
grassy meadows. If you are attentive you are almost certain to see at least a
few of the magnificent animals.

The creek runs from west to east, and you will notice a tremendous difference
in vegetation between the north and south facing sides of the canyon. The
north facing side is covered with aspens and conifers, interspaced with lush
green meadows. The south facing side, on the other hand, is sage brush country
with scarcely a tree to be found.

Scofield State Park is situated 7,600 feet above sea level in the Manti-La Sal
Mountains of the Wasatch Plateau. The 2,800-acre lake offers excellent boating
and year-round fishing. During winter months, the area serves as a base for
snowmobile and cross-country skiing in the spectacular mountains surrounding
the park. Three state-owned facilities are available. Mountain View, located
six miles north of the town of Scofield, offers a 34-unit campground, modern
restrooms, hot showers, fish cleaning and sanitary disposal stations, group
use areas, and boat launch ramp. Madsen Bay, located on the north end of the
reservoir, is a popular area for groups and family reunions.

feet. The area is a paradise for anglers and off-road vehicle enthusiasts.

## Recreation

Huntington Reservoir has great tiger and cutthroat trout fishing, while
Cleveland Reservoir offers great fishing for rainbow trout. Both reservoirs
are perfect for canoeing and kayaking, however boat ramps are not available.  
  
The extensive Lake Canyon OHV Trail System offers many miles of exciting
trails and three beginner loops, making the area accessible to riders of all
skill levels. Horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking are popular as
well.  
  
Electric Lake is nearby, offering boating, water skiing and fishing for tiger
and cutthroat trout. A boat ramp is on-site there.

<p>Cleveland Reservoir Campground is located along Utah's scenic Energy Loop on top of the Wasatch Plateau off Highway 31 approximately 18 miles east of Fairview, Utah. The campground sits at an approximate elevation of 9,000 feet and is located next the the 135.8 acre Cleveland Reservoir. The Department of Wildlife Resources of Utah (DWR) stocks this reservoir with Rainbow Trout. Two miles further up the road is Huntington Reservoir and this reservoir is stocked with Tiger Trout.</p>

<p>Scan & Pay is available at this campground using the Recreation.gov mpbile app (Android and iOS). This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you can pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.fov mobile app. Download the free Recreation.gov mobile app on Android or iOS prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service.</p>
<h2>Recreation</h2>
<p>Huntington Reservoir has great tiger and cutthroat trout fishing, while Cleveland Reservoir offers great fishing for rainbow trout. Both reservoirs are perfect for canoeing and kayaking, however boat ramps are not available.</p>
<p>The extensive Lake Canyon OHV Trail System offers many miles of exciting trails and three beginner loops, making the area accessible to riders of all skill levels. Horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking are popular as well.</p>
<p>Electric Lake is nearby, offering boating, water skiing and fishing for tiger and cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon. A boat ramp is on-site located at the north-end of the reservoir.</p>

<p>Vault toilets are provided, but there is no water, electricity, sewer hookups, or garbage service. This is a "pack it in, pack it out" site so all trash must be removed upon departure. This campground sits on the north end of the Arapeen OHV trail system and is adjacent to the Lake Canyon Trail System that houses twelve miles of OHV trails within reach of this campground.</p>

<p>The area is situated in a broad mountain valley, surrounded by the scenic peaks of the Wasatch Plateau. Stands of aspen and pine trees provide limited shade, and grasses, sagebrush and summer wildflowers fill the meadows.</p>

campground. Pine and fir trees line the edges surrounding the campground, but
offer little shade within the site. The surrounding area has numerous lakes
and streams, vibrant summer wildflowers, colorful fall foliage and abundant
wildlife.  
The campground provides one large-group site that can accommodate up to 50
people. A large, gravel parking area provides ample room for RVs of any size.
Site amenities include picnic tables, serving tables, benches, fire ring and
dutch oven stands. Accessible vault toilets are provided, but drinking water
is not available at the campground. Potable water can be  
found nearby at the Stuart Guard Station. Visitors are asked to carry out all
garbage.

tables, a fire ring, dutch oven fire pan and utility tables. A vault toilet
facility is located about 50 feet from the site. There is no electricity,
water, sewer or garbage services. If the group site is not reserved, it is
available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis for $5.00 per
vehicle per night. To maintain priority for reservations, first-come, first-
served customers may only pay for two nights at a time. The three double
family sites in the campground are only available on a first-come, first-

The expansive Arapeen OHV Trail System can be accessed from the campground and
has more than 350 miles of designated, well-maintained trails for off-road
vehicles. The trails are suitable for all riding levels.
