Mallard Bay Overflow Camping Area is next to Fish Lake and the Fishlake Scenic
Byway in central Utah at an 9,000 feet elevation. The camping area is used as
an overflow camping area when all other campgrounds in the Fish Lake Basin are
full.

The campground contains two group sites that can accommodate up to 150 people
each, both with shelters, tables, campfire rings and grills. Several single-
family sites are available as well. Mallard Day Use site is located within the
campground.  
  
Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. A dump station is located at
the campground entrance. Roads and parking spurs are paved.  
  
Three resorts are located in the Fish Lake Basin, offering camping and fishing
supplies, RV parks with hookups, cabin and boat rentals, marinas, gas,
restaurants, groceries, laundry facilities and showers. The resorts are open
from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

just south of the campground. Aspens and cottonwoods provide limited shade in

excellent lake views but no shade.

Twin Creeks Rec Res

## Overview

Twin Creeks Picnic Area is is a day-use site located next to Fish Lake, Twin
Creeks and the Fishlake Scenic Byway at an elevation of 8,800 feet. Visitors
enjoy fishing, boating, exploring local trails and viewing spawning salmon
from the board walk that meanders along the creek. This takes place mid to
late fall. Some fish can usually be found year round.

visitor center or by calling Fremont Rivier Ranger District. 435-836-2800  
Pavillion rental does not restrict day use from other visitors utalizing the
Twin Creeks area or acess to boardwalk and visitor center.  
  
Power outlets, lights, flush toilets and drinking water are provided with
rental. The large parking area and short trail to the shelter are paved and
ADA accesable. Twin Creeks boardwalk is located nearby for fish viewing.
Please do not disturb the fish!  
  
Trash collection is not provided with rental of pavillion. Please deposit all
trash at dumpster sites located at Mackinaw on highway 25 and Doctor Creek
dumpstation.

<p>Paiute Campground is 29 miles north of Loa, Utah, on Highway 25 adjacent to Johnson Reservoir at 8,800 feet elevation. With 48 pull-through camp sites, Piute campground is ideal for large groups or individual campers looking for a secluded experience.  Paiute Campground is located near Johnson Valley Reservoir in the Fishlake National Forest of central Utah. Visitors enjoy boating, fishing and exploring local trails.</p>
<h2>Recreation</h2>
<p>Fish Lake is Utah's largest natural mountain lake, covering 2,500 acres. It is famous for its 20-40 pound Mackinaw lake trout. Anglers alos enjoy fishing for rainbow trout and splake. Boating, canoeing, swimming, and scuba diving are popular activities.</p>

<p>The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins near by. It leads through meadows and dense forests of spruce, pine and aspen as it climbs to the 11,633-foot Fish Lake Hightop.</p>

<p>The popular Lakeshore National Recreation Trail exteds around the eastern side of the lake. Hikers are rewarded with stunning lake views after climbing 900 feet in elevation.</p>

<p>All sites in the campgroung are single-family sites. </p>
<p>Pit toilets and drinking water are provided during regular operating season.  Roads and parking spurs are paved.  </p>
<p>Water is shut off during shoulder seasons.  Campground acess is limited by snow. </p>

<p>The campground sits at an elevation of 8,800 feet on a sagebrush-covered hillside on the valley floor, offering sweeping views of the Aspen, Pine and Cottonwood forest. </p>

<p>Johnson Valley Reservoir is near by, offering fishing and boating opportunities.  Visitors enjoy hiking the non-motorized trail from the campground to nearby Tasha Creek and beyond. </p>

This is a first come first serve campground. Sites cannot be reserved on
Rec.gov. However thus far campground has never been full.

## Overview

Tasha Equestrian Campground is located in central Utah, just 4 miles north of
beautiful Fish Lake at an elevation of 9,000 feet. Visitors enjoy horseback

Many miles of horseback riding, hiking, biking and off-road vehicle trails
crisscross the area. Johnson Valley Reservoir is just a half-mile from the

Tasha Equestrian offers a group site with a picnic shelter, as well as single-
family sites. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Roads and spurs
are gravel, but have good access for trailers and trucks.  
  
The camp is fully equipped for campers with horses. Corrals, a staging area,
hitching racks and trailheads are located within the facility.

Tasha's high mountain setting is beautiful but remote and is prone to rapid
weather changes due to its elevation. The site is forested with a mixed stand
of aspen, spruce and pines, which provides partial shade. Most sites provide
sweeping mountain and valley views.

Fish Lake, Utah's largest natural mountain lake, is less than 10 minutes from
the campground. The lake is famous for its 20-40 pound Mackinaw lake trout.
Boating, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the lake. Boat
ramps, rentals, a marina, fuel, groceries, restaurants and fishing and camping
supplies can all be found at Fish Lake.  
  
The Mytoge Mountain Trail, a 25-mile hiking/biking loop, offers everything
from easy cruising to challenging singletrack in the mountains around Fish
Lake.

## Overview

Mt Terrill Guard Station is located on the Fishlake National Forest in Central
Utah about 30 miles southeast of Salina. The cabin sits at near the top of the
paved Seven Mile-Gooseberry road #640 between Salina and Fish Lake. The guard
station provides a great base camp for recreation activities such as relaxing,
OHV riding, wildlife viewing, hunting, hiking, wildflower viewing, and
fishing.

## Recreation

Johnson Reservoir is 7 miles with Fish Lake being 15 miles south of Mt
Terrill. Fishing, food services, boat rentals, and supplies are available at
Fish Lake. North of Mt Terrill are small fishing ponds such as Gates Lake,
Salina Reservoir, Farnsworth Reservoir, and Cold Springs.

Wildflower and wildlife viewing are fun activities. OHV riding, equestrian,
biking, and hiking opportunities are available in the area. Big game hunting
for elk and deer is also a popular activity.

## Facilities

The rustic Mt. Terrill Guard Station is a two room cabin with a kitchen and
bedroom. The site can accommodate a maximum of 50 people, but there is only
one queen bed and two sets of bunk beds for a capacity of 6 people sleeping
inside the building. No linins, bedding, or pillows are provided. RV’s and
tents are allowed outside.

The cabin is equipped with a kitchen table and chairs, a wood stove, a propane
range, propane heater, countertop, couch and chair. There is no water
available on site. Guests are encouraged to bring dishes, utensils, cooking
pans, towels, water and soap. No key or combination is required for entry.

A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, plus a fire circle, benches,
and a picnic table. Some battery operated lighting may be available in the
cabin. Bring your own battery operated lights.

No pets are allowed in the Guard Station.

No shooting within 150 yards of the facility.

Guests are required to keep the facility clean during their stay. Maid service

Mt Terrill is located about 30 miles southeast of Salina Utah. From Salina
travel about 7 miles east on Interstate 70 to the Gooseberry exit #63. Go
south on the two-lane paved Gooseberry road #640 for about 22 miles to the Mt
Terrill Guard Station on the right. From Fish Lake travel 8 miles on SR25 to
Johnson reservoir, then turn left onto the paved Gooseberry road #640 for
about 7 miles to the Mt Terrill Guard Station.

the guard station. Lost Creek reservoir is west of the building and does not
