## Overview

Adelaide Campground is located in Corn Creek Canyon on the south end of the
Pahvant Mountain Range near Kanosh, Utah.

## Recreation

Corn Creek offers brown and rainbow trout fishing. Hiking and biking trails
begin nearby, and the Paiute ATV trail can be easily accessed from the site.

## Facilities

The campground offers 1 group site which can accommodate 48 guests and up to
15 vehicles. 9 individual sites are also available. These sites can
accommodate 6 to 8 guests and 2 vehicles. All of the individual sites are
suitable for camp trailers and although no designated tent pads are at the
sites they are suitable for tent camping.  
  
Flush and vault toilets are provided, as is drinking water. A large
amphitheater and picnic shelter / pavilion are located on-site. Roads and
parking spurs are gravel.

## Natural Features

A grove of maple and cottonwood trees provides plentiful shade. Pines and
summer wildflowers dot the area. Corn Creek runs alongside the campground,
which lies at an elevation of 5,500 feet.

in Beaver, Utah.

Aquarius Ranger Station is located about 15 miles south of Loa, in eastern
Utah. It sits on the west side of beautiful Boulder Mountain, which makes up
half of the expansive Aquarius Plateau. The station was built by the Civilian
Conservation Corps in 1937 and was used by generations of Forest Service
employees working in the surrounding back country.  
  
Recreational activities abound in the surrounding area. Guests enjoy fishing
in many lakes on Boulder Top, and exploring local trails.

## Recreation

Pine Creek Reservoir is less than a mile from the ranger station. This small
lake covers three acres, and offers fishing for brook trout. Cook Lake, Miller
Lake and numerous additional fishing lakes are scattered across Boulder Top.  
  
Many hiking, biking and off-road vehicle trails meander through the
surrounding area. The Great Western Trail spans nearly 4,500 miles through
five states, and runs alongside the station. Hikers, horseback riders,
mountain bikers and off-road enthusiasts love this spectacular trail.  
  
Big game hunting for black bear, mule deer, elk, grouse and antelope is also a
popular activity.

## Facilities

The Aquarius Ranger Station Complex can accommodate a maximum of 20 people,
with four inside and 16 camped outside in tents or RVs. The rustic two-room
cabin sleeps four people comfortably on one double bed and one set of bunk
beds. No linens or bedding are provided. Two or three RVs and several tents
are allowed outside.  
  
  
  
The cabin is equipped with a table and chairs, a wood stove and propane
appliances including a cook stove and oven, and hot water heater. Some pots
and pans, dishes and utensils are provided, but guests are encouraged to bring
their own.  
  
  
  
A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, as is a campfire circle and
several picnic tables. Potable water is available inside the cabin and at a
hydrant outside. Solar lighting is available inside the cabin.  
  
  
Please note: pets are not allowed inside the Ranger Station.

mixed conifers, at an elevation of 8,700 feet. Grasses, sagebrush and summer
wildflowers fill the meadow. From the front porch, guests are awarded scenic

Boulder Mountain rises to an elevation of 11,317 feet. Capitol Reef National
Park lies on its eastern edge. Boulder is comprised of over 50,000 acres of
rolling pine, spruce and aspen forests on its slopes and broad, lake-studded
meadows on its top.

Big Flat Guard Station is located on the Fishlake National Forest about 25
miles East of Beaver Utah. The cabin sits in the middle of Big Flat about 2
miles after the pavement ends at Puffer Lake on State Road 153. The station
was built in about 1908 and provides a great base camp for recreation
activities such as relaxing, OHV riding, horseback riding, wildlife viewing,
hunting, hiking, wildflower viewing, and fishing.

Directions:

The Big Flat Guard Station is located approximately 24 miles east of Beaver,
Utah. From Beaver, Utah take UT-153 east for about 24 miles. About 1 mile
after you pass the Timid Springs turn off, Turn right onto FR652 into the
site. From Junction, Utah travel west 6 miles on paved UT-153 then
approximately another 11 miles on dirt road section of UT-153 to reach the Big
Flat Guard Station which is approximately 2 miles North of Buck Ridge
Restroom. There is a sign that says Big Flat Guard Station at the entrance to
the cabin. It is tucked away in the trees between Timid Springs and the Main
meadow in Big Flat area.

area. The Paiute 01 OHV trail passes within 1.5 miles from the guard station.
Two popular non-motorized trails: The Skyline Rec Trail and the Hi Hunt 228
trail are adjacent to the property. The area is also popular among big game
hunters for elk and deer in the fall and winter. Groomed snowmobile trails
allow access for winter recreation.

The cabin is equipped with a kitchen table and chairs, a wood stove, a propane
single burner stove, and countertop. There is water available on site, **but

cooking pans are supplied. **Towels, bedding, soap, water *and other needed
supplies** will need to be brought with the guests.

A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, plus a fire circle, benches,

and Mt. Holly can be seen from the Big Flat area. Summer days are warm and
nights are cool. Guests should be prepared for all types of mountain weather
during their stay.

favorite recreational spot because of its large meadows that have spectacular
scenery. This area also offers opportunities for winter sport enthusiasts such
as snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Common vegetation includes Engelmann

Black Flat Cua Dispersed

This trailhead provides access to the Paiute 01 ATV trail.  About a half mile
to the north, Skyline-Big John Flat Trailhead provides access to the Skyline
National Recreation Trail as well as the Piute 01 ATV trail.  About a mile to
the south, Big John's  Flat dispersed camping area provides access to
Trailhead #068. Approximately 1 mile west of the dispersed camping area you
will find yourself at an intersection of three different trails. To the south
is trail #064. To the north you can take trail #172 (Shelley Baldy Creek
Trail). If you stay on this trail heading north you will end in the South Fork
of North Creek (#062). If you stay on the #058 trail it takes you west into a
vast system of horse and foot trails.

Bowery Creek Group Rec Site

Group Campground. Five camping units are available with tables, fire rings,
and non-potable water. The campground has vault toilets, group fire circle,
picnic area and amphitheatre to the north. Units will accommodate up to 24'
trailers. Cottonwood trees canopy the campsites in the City Creek Campground.
The sound of trickling water can be heard from most locations. City Creek
weaves along-side the campsites. This creek is primarily a rainbow trout
fishery. Common vegetation includes cottonwood, Ponderosa pine, pinyon and
juniper trees. Special Features: Rainbow trout are occasionally stocked in the
campground area. Both forks of City Creek support trout populations, with the
most success found on the south fork. There are hiking or horseback
opportunities on trails going up both the North and South Fork of City Creek.
ATV access: This campground allows ATV access to trails directly from camp.
Riders can head north on jeep trails or can go southeast out of the campground
and access the Paiute ATV Trail. The Paiute Trail will take riders through Oak
and Cottonwood Basins then access more trails at the top of the mountains.

Trailhead #071. This horse and foot trail heads northwest out of City Creek
Campground for approximately three miles where it will intersect trail #225
which is the Skyline Trail. If you head south on #225 you will reach Big Flat.
If you head north you will reach the #219 Lake Stream Trailhead.

reservoir is available for fishing.  The road to Gates Lake (FR040) can be
rough and is not recommended for trailers.  There is also 50" ATV riding on
designated routes, camping, hiking, and wildlife viewing.  Please pack-out all

## Overview

Gooseberry Administrative Site Cabins are located just 18 miles from Salina
Utah. These historic structures were used as Forest Service summer
headquarters from 1907 to 1960. Today, the site is used for family reunions,
group events, scout and church groups, and youth camps.

## Recreation

Popular activities in the area include off-road vehicle riding, fishing,
hiking, biking, horseback riding and wildlife watching. The Great Western
Trail runs nearby; two trailheads can be easily accessed near the site.

## Facilities

This unique facility contains three bunk cabins, one with propane heating, a
recreation hall, kitchen and bathhouse. The rec hall has a fireplace, tables
and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a large propane cooking range and
oven, three small propane refrigerators, three sinks, a prep and serving area,
hot water and two outdoor grills. The bathhouse has flush toilets, sinks and
hot showers.  
  
  
Fifty single beds with mattresses are provided. Guests must bring their own
linens or bedding, as well as dishes, utensils and cookware. A propane
generator is available for electricity and lights for a couple of hours in the
morning and evening. Several picnic tables and a campfire ring are located
outside.  
  
  
  
Guests are required to keep the facility clean during their stay and clean up
prior to leaving. Maid service is not available. A volunteer host is on-site.
Check-out time is by 11 a.m. and check-in time is after 2 p.m.

Access to this area is available via Indian Creek road, FR-119. Located 8
miles north of Beaver, and 11 miles northeast of Manderfield. This is a
Dispersed Camping area with a number of areas for primitive camping. *No
camping or driving on the meadows is allowed (16-day camping limit enforced).
The reservoir is stocked by the DNR each year with rainbow trout throughout
the summer months. Hand launching of small, non-motorized craft is possible.
The area has 1 vault restroom and no water available.

Trailhead #124. Located on PST 05, this trail leads to the west toward Mud
Flat and eventually (if you continue along this trail) it will take you to the
Face Trail and down into Beaver, Utah. Points of interest include the Ice
Caves and the South Fork of North Creek overlook.

Kents Lake Campground has 28 single family campsites and two multiple family
campsites. It is situated in a beautiful forested setting at an elevation of
8,800 feet.  
  
The campground is located adjacent to Kents Lake, which is approximately 50
acres in size and suitable for small fishing boats and canoes. Kents Lake is
stocked with a variety of trout, all catchable from shore or boat.

## Recreation

Anglers can fish for brown, brook and rainbow trout in Kents Lake from the
shore or small non-motorized boat.  
  
Trailheads to the Piute ATV trail are close by, but there is no direct access
from the campground.

## Facilities

Kents Lake Campground has 28 single family campsites and 2 multiple family
campsites. Sites vary from back-in to pull-through sites and will accomodate
trailers from 24 to 60 feet long. All units have grills and/or fire rings and
picnic tables. Drinking water is available throughout the campground. There

provide a range of shade depending on location. Some areas are lighter or
heavier shade, depending on site. The majority are well-shaded.

The campground has 11 single units and one group unit. All sites are back-in
and will accommodate trailers from 12 to 45 feet long. Each campsite has a
table and campfire ring. One vault toilet serves the campground. Drinking
water is not available. There is a camping limit of 14 consecutive days.  
  
A designated ATV parking area is located to the west side of the campground to
access available ATV trails.  
  
No hook-ups or dump station are available. The nearest dump station is located
in Beaver, Utah.

and is a jumping-off point to numerous loop trails and ATV Forest Roads. If
you take Forest Road #147 (PST 88) it will take you north for approximately 8
to 10 miles, winding its way through Strawberry Flat and eventually down to
Three Creeks Reservoir. North of the Three Creek Dam is the junction with PST
05 and east of there about .5 mile is the Piute 01 Trail.

<p>The Lebaron ATV Trail is just west of Lebaron Campground on Forest Road #147 and is a jumping-off point to numerous loop trails and ATV Forest Roads. hiking, and hunting.

## Recreation

Enjoy fishing in the Beaver River; an accessible fishing path is located
within the campground. The Piute ATV Trail is nearby; however there is no
access directly from the campground. Be prepared to trailer ATVs to the nearby
trailheads for access.  
  
Nearby Cottonwood Trail is a horse and foot trail that is accessed through the
lower part of Cottonwood Campground. This rugged trail will lead southwest for
about the first two miles and then takes a sharp turn to the east through
Horse Flat.

The campground has fourteen single-family campsites, two of which are
accessible units available for reservation. All campsites are paved and have
picnic tables and grills. An accessible restroom with flush toilets serves the
campground. Potable water is available during the summer season. RVs up to 40
feet in length can be accommodated; no hook-ups are available.

mainly of ponderosa pine with pinion, juniper and scrub oak provides shade for
about half of the area. There are eight single-family campsites. Sites are
back-in sites and will accommodate RV's from 22 to 40 feet. All units have
grills and/or fire rings and tables. Drinking water is available at three
locations throughout the campground. There are three vault toilets including
one that is barrier free. Campsite #4 is handicap accessibile. A paved trail
leads to the reservoir for fishing.

shore of Lower Bowns Reservoir at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Visitors enjoy
boating, fishing and exploring local trails.

Popular activities in the area include hiking, biking, hunting and riding the
Rosebud ATV Trail. Lower Bowns Reservoir offers boating, canoeing and fishing
for rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout.

## Facilities

This campground contains three accessible sites: one group site can
accommodate up to 50 people, and two single sites can each accommodate up to
10 people.  
  
Vault toilets are provided, and roads and parking spurs throughout the site
are gravel.

## Natural Features

The campground is sparsely forested with pinyon pines and juniper, which offer
only limited shade. Boulder Mountain lies to the west of the site, and Capitol
Reef National Park's Waterpocket Fold and the Henry Mountains lie to the east.

## Nearby Attractions

Capitol Reef National Park is just 45 minutes from the campground. This unique
park offers excellent hiking trails, historic sites and breathtaking scenery.  
  
Sightseeing along Utah Highway 12, a National Scenic Byway, is very popular.
Travelers visit from every corner of the world to gaze upon stunning red rock
canyons and desert landscapes.

Capitol Reef National Park is just 45 minutes from the campground. This unique park offers excellent hiking trails, historic sites and breathtaking scenery.<br/>

Lower Box Creek Trailhead is located at an elevation of over 7,000 feet in a
canyon along Greenwich Creek with cottonwood trees for shade.  Facilities
include an unloading ramp, information kiosk and vault restroom.  Paiute Side
Trail 53 begins at the trailhead and allows 50" ATVs.  Dispersed camping,
hiking, horseback riding, hunting, and wildlife viewing are fun activities.
Please stay on designated routes and pack-out what you pack-in. Camping stay
limit is 16 days.

The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins next door at Bowery Creek Campground.
It leads through meadows and dense forests of spruce, pine and aspen as it
climbs to the 11,633-foot Fish Lake Hightop.  
  
The popular Lakeshore National Recreation Trail extends around the eastern
side of the lake. Hikers are rewarded with stunning lake views after climbing
900 feet in elevation.

The campground contains four group sites that can accommodate up to 20 people
each. Picnic tables and fire rings with grills are provided. Several single-
family sites are available as well. Most sites have lake views.  
  
Flush toilets, showers and drinking water are provided. Roads and parking
spurs are paved.  
  
Three resorts are located in the Fish Lake Basin, offering camping and fishing
supplies, RV parks with hookups, cabin and boat rentals, marinas, gas,
restaurants, groceries, laundry facilities and showers. The resorts are open
from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Fishing for rainbow and brook trout is popular on the Beaver River, which is
just a short drive below the campground. Hiking, mountain biking and hunting
are popular activities in the area.

The campground consists of one group site made up of seven individual sites
that can accommodate a total of 150 people and 20 vehicles. Reservations are
posted at the campground in advance. If the entire site is not reserved, the
individual sites can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.  
  
  
The first site has several picnic tables, a large grill and campfire circle.
The other six sites each contain one picnic table, fire ring and grill. Vault
toilets and drinking water are provided. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. A
large play field is located just inside the entrance.

shade. The campground offers pretty views of the Tushar Range. An overlook
just outside the campground has views of Beaver Canyon.

Trailhead #01. The Dry Creek Trail Paiute #01 Trail is accessed via Forest
Road #475. This ATV trail heads south along Dry Creek where it eventually
turns into a very rough mostly ATV trail. If you stay on forest Road #475 it
will turn into Forest Road #476 taking you into the upper elevations of
Sargent Mountain.
