## Overview

Adelaide Campground is located in Corn Creek Canyon on the south end of the
Pahvant Mountain Range near Kanosh, Utah.

## Recreation

Corn Creek offers brown and rainbow trout fishing. Hiking and biking trails
begin nearby, and the Paiute ATV trail can be easily accessed from the site.

## Facilities

The campground offers 1 group site which can accommodate 48 guests and up to
15 vehicles. 9 individual sites are also available. These sites can
accommodate 6 to 8 guests and 2 vehicles. All of the individual sites are
suitable for camp trailers and although no designated tent pads are at the
sites they are suitable for tent camping.  
  
Flush and vault toilets are provided, as is drinking water. A large
amphitheater and picnic shelter / pavilion are located on-site. Roads and
parking spurs are gravel.

A grove of maple and cottonwood trees provides plentiful shade. Pines and
summer wildflowers dot the area. Corn Creek runs alongside the campground,
which lies at an elevation of 5,500 feet.

toilets in the campground. Camping limit is 14 days.  
  
No hook-ups or dump station are available. The nearest dump station is located
in Beaver, Utah.

The campground is surrounded by a mix of aspen and conifers. The trees provide
a range of shade depending on campsite locations with a majority of the sites
well-shaded.  
  
The Fishlake National Forest offers spectacular vistas and opportunities to
view wildlife in their natural habitat. Elk, deer, black bear, moose, cougar
and mountain goats are some of the large animals that call the forest home.

## Nearby Attractions

The Piute ATV Trail is nearby; however there is no access directly from the
campground. Be prepared to trailer ATVs to the nearby trailheads for access.

Aquarius Ranger Station is located about 15 miles south of Loa, in eastern
Utah. It sits on the west side of beautiful Boulder Mountain, which makes up
half of the expansive Aquarius Plateau. The station was built by the Civilian
Conservation Corps in 1937 and was used by generations of Forest Service
employees working in the surrounding back country.  
  
Recreational activities abound in the surrounding area. Guests enjoy fishing
in many lakes on Boulder Top, and exploring local trails.

## Recreation

Pine Creek Reservoir is less than a mile from the ranger station. This small
lake covers three acres, and offers fishing for brook trout. Cook Lake, Miller
Lake and numerous additional fishing lakes are scattered across Boulder Top.  
  
Many hiking, biking and off-road vehicle trails meander through the
surrounding area. The Great Western Trail spans nearly 4,500 miles through
five states, and runs alongside the station. Hikers, horseback riders,
mountain bikers and off-road enthusiasts love this spectacular trail.  
  
Big game hunting for black bear, mule deer, elk, grouse and antelope is also a
popular activity.

## Facilities

The Aquarius Ranger Station Complex can accommodate a maximum of 20 people,
with four inside and 16 camped outside in tents or RVs. The rustic two-room
cabin sleeps four people comfortably on one double bed and one set of bunk
beds. No linens or bedding are provided. Two or three RVs and several tents
are allowed outside.  
  
  
  
The cabin is equipped with a table and chairs, a wood stove and propane
appliances including a cook stove and oven, and hot water heater. Some pots
and pans, dishes and utensils are provided, but guests are encouraged to bring
their own.  
  
  
  
A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, as is a campfire circle and
several picnic tables. Potable water is available inside the cabin and at a
hydrant outside. Solar lighting is available inside the cabin.

mixed conifers, at an elevation of 8,700 feet. Grasses, sagebrush and summer

Boulder Mountain rises to an elevation of 11,317 feet. Capitol Reef National
Park lies on its eastern edge. Boulder is comprised of over 50,000 acres of
rolling pine, spruce and aspen forests on its slopes and broad, lake-studded
meadows on its top.

Big Flat Guard Station is located on the Fishlake National Forest about 25
miles East of Beaver Utah. The cabin sits in the middle of Big Flat about 2
miles after the pavement ends at Puffer Lake on State Road 153. The station
was built in about 1908 and provides a great base camp for recreation
activities such as relaxing, OHV riding, horseback riding, wildlife viewing,
hunting, hiking, wildflower viewing, and fishing.

Directions:

The Big Flat Guard Station is located approximately 24 miles east of Beaver,
Utah. From Beaver, Utah take UT-153 east for about 24 miles. About 1 mile
after you pass the Timid Springs turn off, Turn right onto FR652 into the
site. From Junction, Utah travel west 6 miles on paved UT-153 then
approximately another 11 miles on dirt road section of UT-153 to reach the Big
Flat Guard Station which is approximately 2 miles North of Buck Ridge
Restroom. There is a sign that says Big Flat Guard Station at the entrance to
the cabin. It is tucked away in the trees between Timid Springs and the Main
meadow in Big Flat area.

## Recreation

Hiking, biking, OHV riding and Horseback riding are popular activities in the
area. The Paiute 01 OHV trail passes within 1.5 miles from the guard station.
Two popular non-motorized trails: The Skyline Rec Trail and the Hi Hunt 228
trail are adjacent to the property. The area is also popular among big game
hunters for elk and deer in the fall and winter. Groomed snowmobile trails
allow access for winter recreation.

bedrooms. The site can accommodate a maximum of 50 people (10 vehicles), there
is only one double bed bunk in one room and two sets of bunk beds in the

linins, bedding, or pillows are provided. RV’s and tents are allowed outside.

The cabin is equipped with a kitchen table and chairs, a wood stove, a propane
single burner stove, and countertop. There is water available on site, **but
it is not currently in operation** (date to be determined). Dishes, utensils,
cooking pans are supplied. **Towels, bedding, soap, water *and other needed
supplies** will need to be brought with the guests.

A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, plus a fire circle, benches,
and a picnic table. Some lighting is available in the cabin powered by solar
panels.

No pets are allowed in the Guard Station.

and Mt. Holly can be seen from the Big Flat area. Summer days are warm and
nights are cool. Guests should be prepared for all types of mountain weather
during their stay.

The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins in the campground. It leads through
meadows and dense forests of spruce, pine and aspen as it climbs to the
11,633-foot Fish Lake Hightop.  
  
The popular Lakeshore National Recreation Trail extends around the eastern
side of the lake. Hikers are rewarded with stunning lake views after climbing
900 feet in elevation.

each, the other three up to 20 people each. A group day-use picnic site for up
to 100 people is located on-site. Several single-family sites are available as

## Natural Features

Doctor Creek sits at at an elevation of 9,000 feet on the southern tip of Fish
Lake on Mallard Bay. A series of ponds, known as Coots Slough, dot the area
just south of the campground. Aspens and cottonwoods provide limited shade in
this sagebrush-covered area. Sites on the outer edge of the campground offer
excellent lake views but no shade.

The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins nearby at Bowery Creek Campground. It
leads through meadows and dense forests of spruce, pine and aspen as it climbs
to the 11,633-foot Fish Lake Hightop.  
  
Johnson Valley Reservoir is just north of Fish Lake, offering additional
fishing and boating opportunities.

The campground contains one group site and a pavilion that can accommodate up
to 75 people, with large tables, grills, Dutch oven cooking surfaces and a
fire ring with benches.  
  
  
Vault toilets are provided. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. Elkhorn Ranger
Station is just across a meadow from the site. Drinking water has been shut
down for the season

## Overview

Gooseberry Administrative Site Cabins are located just 18 miles from Salina
Utah. These historic structures were used as Forest Service summer
headquarters from 1907 to 1960. Today, the site is used for family reunions,
group events, scout and church groups, and youth camps.

## Recreation

Popular activities in the area include off-road vehicle riding, fishing,
hiking, biking, horseback riding and wildlife watching. The Great Western
Trail runs nearby; two trailheads can be easily accessed near the site.

## Facilities

This unique facility contains three bunk cabins, one with propane heating, a
recreation hall, kitchen and bathhouse. The rec hall has a fireplace, tables
and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a large propane cooking range and
oven, three small propane refrigerators, three sinks, a prep and serving area,
hot water and two outdoor grills. The bathhouse has flush toilets, sinks and
hot showers.  
  
  
Fifty single beds with mattresses are provided. Guests must bring their own
linens or bedding, as well as dishes, utensils and cookware. A propane
generator is available for electricity and lights for a couple of hours in the
morning and evening. Several picnic tables and a campfire ring are located
outside.  
  
  
  
Guests are required to keep the facility clean during their stay and clean up
prior to leaving. Maid service is not available. A volunteer host is on-site.
Check-out time is by 11 a.m. and check-in time is after 2 p.m.

Kents Lake Campground has 28 single family campsites and two multiple family
campsites. It is situated in a beautiful forested setting at an elevation of
8,800 feet.  
  
The campground is located adjacent to Kents Lake, which is approximately 50
acres in size and suitable for small fishing boats and canoes. Kents Lake is
stocked with a variety of trout, all catchable from shore or boat.

## Recreation

Anglers can fish for brown, brook and rainbow trout in Kents Lake from the
shore or small non-motorized boat.  
  
Trailheads to the Piute ATV trail are close by, but there is no direct access
from the campground.

## Facilities

Kents Lake Campground has 28 single family campsites and 2 multiple family
campsites. Sites vary from back-in to pull-through sites and will accomodate
trailers from 24 to 60 feet long. All units have grills and/or fire rings and
picnic tables. Drinking water is available throughout the campground. There
are two vault toilets in the campground.  
  
There are no hook ups available. The nearest dump station is located in
Beaver.

provide a range of shade depending on location. Some areas are lighter or
heavier shade, depending on site. The majority are well-shaded.

LeBaron Campground is located in the Fishlake National Forest at an elevation
of 9,900 feet. This beautiful high mountain retreat in Utah offers excellent
fishing in LeBaron Lake and outstanding scenery.

## Recreation

Anglers will enjoy fishing for brook and rainbow trout in LeBaron Lake from
the shore or small non-motorized boat. The LeBaron ATV Trail is just west of
LeBaron Campground on Forest Road #147 and is a jumping off point to numerous
loop trails and ATV Forest Roads, including the Piute ATV trail.

## Facilities

The campground has 11 single units and one group unit. All sites are back-in
and will accommodate trailers from 12 to 45 feet long. Each campsite has a
table and campfire ring. One vault toilet serves the campground. Drinking
water is not available. There is a camping limit of 14 consecutive days.  
  
A designated ATV parking area is located to the west side of the campground to
access available ATV trails.  
  
No hook-ups or dump station are available. The nearest dump station is located
in Beaver, Utah.

The Little Cottonwood Campground is conveniently located off Utah's I-15,
adjacent to the Beaver River just outside of the community of Beaver in the
Fishlake National Forest. At 6,500 feet in elevation, this is a great place to
enjoy the mountains where recreation opportunities include stream fishing,
hiking, and hunting.

## Recreation

Enjoy fishing in the Beaver River; an accessible fishing path is located
within the campground. The Piute ATV Trail is nearby; however there is no
access directly from the campground. Be prepared to trailer ATVs to the nearby
trailheads for access.  
  
Nearby Cottonwood Trail is a horse and foot trail that is accessed through the
lower part of Cottonwood Campground. This rugged trail will lead southwest for
about the first two miles and then takes a sharp turn to the east through
Horse Flat.

The campground has fourteen single-family campsites, two of which are
accessible units available for reservation. All campsites are paved and have
picnic tables and grills. An accessible restroom with flush toilets serves the
campground. Potable water is available during the summer season. RVs up to 40
feet in length can be accommodated; no hook-ups are available.

hunting, fishing, biking and spectacular mountain scenery is available. Winter
activities in the area include ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross country
skiing. Bird watching is also very popular. Overstory vegetation consisting
mainly of ponderosa pine with pinion, juniper and scrub oak provides shade for
about half of the area. There are eight single-family campsites. Sites are
back-in sites and will accommodate RV's from 22 to 40 feet. All units have
grills and/or fire rings and tables. Drinking water is available at three
locations throughout the campground. There are three vault toilets including
one that is barrier free. Campsite #4 is handicap accessibile. A paved trail
leads to the reservoir for fishing.

## Overview

Mt Terrill Guard Station is located on the Fishlake National Forest in Central
Utah about 30 miles southeast of Salina. The cabin sits at near the top of the
paved Seven Mile-Gooseberry road #640 between Salina and Fish Lake. The guard
station provides a great base camp for recreation activities such as relaxing,
OHV riding, wildlife viewing, hunting, hiking, wildflower viewing, and
fishing.

## Recreation

Johnson Reservoir is 7 miles with Fish Lake being 15 miles south of Mt
Terrill. Fishing, food services, boat rentals, and supplies are available at
Fish Lake. North of Mt Terrill are small fishing ponds such as Gates Lake,
Salina Reservoir, Farnsworth Reservoir, and Cold Springs.

Wildflower and wildlife viewing are fun activities. OHV riding, equestrian,
biking, and hiking opportunities are available in the area. Big game hunting
for elk and deer is also a popular activity.

## Facilities

The rustic Mt. Terrill Guard Station is a two room cabin with a kitchen and
bedroom. The site can accommodate a maximum of 50 people, but there is only
one queen bed and two sets of bunk beds for a capacity of 6 people sleeping
inside the building. No linins, bedding, or pillows are provided. RV’s and
tents are allowed outside.

The cabin is equipped with a kitchen table and chairs, a wood stove, a propane
range, propane heater, countertop, couch and chair. There is no water
available on site. Guests are encouraged to bring dishes, utensils, cooking
pans, towels, water and soap. No key or combination is required for entry.

A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, plus a fire circle, benches,
and a picnic table. Some battery operated lighting may be available in the
cabin. Bring your own battery operated lights.

No pets are allowed in the Guard Station.

No garbage service is available; pack-out all you pack-in.

No shooting within 150 yards of the facility.

Guests are required to keep the facility clean during their stay. Maid service

south on the two-lane paved Gooseberry road #640 for about 22 miles to the Mt
Terrill Guard Station on the right. From Fish Lake travel 8 miles on SR25 to
Johnson reservoir, then turn left onto the paved Gooseberry road #640 for
about 7 miles to the Mt Terrill Guard Station.

Mt Terrill Guard Station is located on a high elevation meadow near a grove of
conifer trees at an elevation of 9,800 feet. Wildflowers fill the meadow in
July and wildlife such as deer and elk are often seen. Summer days are warm
and nights are quite cool.

Mt Terrill rises to an elevation of 11,547 feet and can be seen to the east of
the guard station. Lost Creek reservoir is west of the building and does not
have fish.

Due to the guard station’s high elevation, guests should be prepared for all

Paiute Campground

## Overview

Ponderosa Picnic Area is located along the Beaver Canyon Scenic Byway. It is
next to the Beaver River, at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Visitors enjoy
fishing and relaxing along the river.

## Recreation

The Beaver River offers great rainbow and brook trout fishing. Hiking and
biking trails begin a short drive east. Horseshoe pits and a volleyball court
are available, but picnickers must bring their own equipment (horseshoes, net
and a ball).

## Facilities

The picnic area is a day-use site for large groups, making it a perfect place
for family reunions and church outings. Site 1, called East, can accommodate
up to 120 people, while site 2, called West, can accommodate up to 80 people.
Reservations can be made for either individual sites or the whole area at
once.  
  
  
Each site contains tables, grills, campfire circles, electric lights. Vault
toilets and drinking water are provided. An amphitheater with bench seating is
also located on-site.

Towering ponderosa pines, cottonwoods, aspens and maples provide partial shade
in the grassy, gently sloping picnicking site. Between the trees are scenic
views of the canyon.

rainbow trout and splake. Boating, canoeing, swimming and scuba diving are

The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins a mile away at Bowery Creek Campground.
It leads through meadows and dense forests of spruce, pine and aspen as it
climbs to the 11,633-foot Fish Lake Hightop.  
  
The popular Lakeshore National Recreation Trail extends around the eastern
side of the lake. Hikers are rewarded with stunning lake views after climbing
900 feet in elevation.

## Facilities

Twin Creeks contains one accessible group picnic site that can accommodate up
to 100 people. A large shelter with lake views is on-site, covering several
picnic tables, grills and a campfire ring. An amphitheater is located to the
north across the parking area, ampatheator use can be coordinated through the
visitor center or by calling Fremont Rivier Ranger District. 435-836-2800  
Pavillion rental does not restrict day use from other visitors utalizing the
Twin Creeks area or acess to boardwalk and visitor center.  
  
Power outlets, lights, flush toilets and drinking water are provided with
rental. The large parking area and short trail to the shelter are paved and
ADA accesable. Twin Creeks boardwalk is located nearby for fish viewing.
Please do not disturb the fish!  
  
Trash collection is not provided with rental of pavillion. Please deposit all
trash at dumpster sites located at Mackinaw on highway 25 and Doctor Creek

Koosharem Reservoir is located at 6995 ft. The reservoir is at one end of the
justly popular Paiute ATV trail. For those who wish to pursue more
contemplative activities, the reservoir is stocked with trout, and there is
trail access into the Fishlake National Forest.

Koosharem Reservoir is a small shallow lake formed by damming Otter Creek
above Grass Valley. The reservoir shoreline is privately/publicly owned and
administered by the BLM and the Koosharem Irrigation Company with public
access. The water level fluctuates seasonally and has a Surface Area of 310
acres. The reservoirsits at 6,995 ft. and has a max depth of 20 ft. Fishing at
Koosharem can be a year round activity. Past surveys found that cutthroat and
rainbow trout are showing better growth and condition than in past years.
Tackle should imitate chubs: rapalas, lures, large streamers. Cut bait or
frozen minnows are also worth a try. This reservoir not only has good fishing,
but also offers access to the Paiute ATV trail. OHVers can explore almost 3000
miles of famous scenic trail that traverse mountain tops and rugged canyons.
Facilities at the reservoir are limited to day use only, but there are ADA
accessible toilets, picnic tables, and a picnic grill available.

clay hills in the arrapean formation appear to be the main riding attraction.
Most use is concentrated in a generally oval area following the clay hills
north to south. Access from west is across private lands, please pay attention
to their concerns. The area offers excellent OHV challenges for hill climbing,
trail riding, and general play riding. Glenwood Hills is located close to the
major regional facilities in the Sevier Valley. Located in the Painted Hills
formation on the east side of the Sevier valley, it covers public lands west
of Highway 24 and north of Highway 119. Please be sure to keep all cross
country travel within the open area boundaries.

once home to the largest known prehistoric Fremont Village site with more than
100 structures filled with countless artifacts.

There are several hikes of various lengths and the renowned Paiute ATV Trail
also passes through. The Sam Stowe campground offers group camping and limited
hookups while the Castle Rock Campground offers primitive sites and two
