## Overview

Gooseberry Administrative Site Cabins are located just 18 miles from Salina
Utah. These historic structures were used as Forest Service summer
headquarters from 1907 to 1960. Today, the site is used for family reunions,
group events, scout and church groups, and youth camps.

## Recreation

Popular activities in the area include off-road vehicle riding, fishing,
hiking, biking, horseback riding and wildlife watching. The Great Western
Trail runs nearby; two trailheads can be easily accessed near the site.

## Facilities

This unique facility contains three bunk cabins, one with propane heating, a
recreation hall, kitchen and bathhouse. The rec hall has a fireplace, tables
and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a large propane cooking range and
oven, three small propane refrigerators, three sinks, a prep and serving area,
hot water and two outdoor grills. The bathhouse has flush toilets, sinks and
hot showers.  
  
  
Fifty single beds with mattresses are provided. Guests must bring their own
linens or bedding, as well as dishes, utensils and cookware. A propane
generator is available for electricity and lights for a couple of hours in the
morning and evening. Several picnic tables and a campfire ring are located
outside.  
  
  
  
Guests are required to keep the facility clean during their stay and clean up
prior to leaving. Maid service is not available. A volunteer host is on-site.
Check-out time is by 11 a.m. and check-in time is after 2 p.m.

Oak Ridge Trailhead

## Overview

Mt Terrill Guard Station is located on the Fishlake National Forest in Central
Utah about 30 miles southeast of Salina. The cabin sits at near the top of the
paved Seven Mile-Gooseberry road #640 between Salina and Fish Lake. The guard
station provides a great base camp for recreation activities such as relaxing,
OHV riding, wildlife viewing, hunting, hiking, wildflower viewing, and
fishing.

## Recreation

Johnson Reservoir is 7 miles with Fish Lake being 15 miles south of Mt
Terrill. Fishing, food services, boat rentals, and supplies are available at
Fish Lake. North of Mt Terrill are small fishing ponds such as Gates Lake,
Salina Reservoir, Farnsworth Reservoir, and Cold Springs.

Wildflower and wildlife viewing are fun activities. OHV riding, equestrian,
biking, and hiking opportunities are available in the area. Big game hunting
for elk and deer is also a popular activity.

## Facilities

The rustic Mt. Terrill Guard Station is a two room cabin with a kitchen and
bedroom. The site can accommodate a maximum of 50 people, but there is only
one queen bed and two sets of bunk beds for a capacity of 6 people sleeping
inside the building. No linins, bedding, or pillows are provided. RV’s and
tents are allowed outside.

The cabin is equipped with a kitchen table and chairs, a wood stove, a propane
range, propane heater, countertop, couch and chair. There is no water
available on site. Guests are encouraged to bring dishes, utensils, cooking
pans, towels, water and soap. No key or combination is required for entry.

A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, plus a fire circle, benches,
and a picnic table. Some battery operated lighting may be available in the
cabin. Bring your own battery operated lights.

No pets are allowed in the Guard Station.

No garbage service is available; pack-out all you pack-in.

No shooting within 150 yards of the facility.

south on the two-lane paved Gooseberry road #640 for about 22 miles to the Mt
Terrill Guard Station on the right. From Fish Lake travel 8 miles on SR25 to
Johnson reservoir, then turn left onto the paved Gooseberry road #640 for
about 7 miles to the Mt Terrill Guard Station.

Mt Terrill Guard Station is a rustic two room cabin on the Fishlake National Forest in central Utah about 30&nbsp;miles southeast of Salina.&nbsp; Mt Terrill&nbsp;is located on a high elevation meadow (over 9,800 feet) by a grove of conifer trees near the top of the paved Seven Mile-Gooseberry road #640 between Salina and Fish Lake.&nbsp; Wildflowers fill the meadow in July and wildlife such as deer and elk are often seen.&nbsp; Summer days are warm and nights are quite cool.&nbsp; The site can accommodate a maximum of 50 people, but there is only one queen&nbsp;bed and two sets of bunk beds for a capacity of 6 people sleeping inside the building.&nbsp; No linins, bedding, or pillows are provided.&nbsp; RV&rsquo;s and tents are allowed outside.&nbsp; The two room cabin is equipped with a kitchen table and chairs, a wood stove, a propane range (no oven), propane heater, countertop, couch and chairs.&nbsp; There is no water available on site.&nbsp; Guests are encouraged to bring dishes, utensils, cooking pans, towels, water, and soap.&nbsp; A vault toilet is located adjacent to the cabin, plus there is a fire circle, benches, and a picnic table.&nbsp; Some battery operated lighting may be&nbsp;available in the cabin, but please bring your own battery operated lighting.&nbsp; No garbage service provided;&nbsp;please&nbsp;pack-out all you pack-in.&nbsp; The station&nbsp;provides a great base camp for recreation activities such as relaxing, OHV riding, wildlife viewing, hunting, hiking, wildflower viewing, and fishing.&nbsp; Use is by reservation only through&nbsp;<a href="https://www.recreation.gov/">Recreation.gov - Camping, Cabins, RVs, Permits, Passes &amp; More</a></p><p>Guests are required to keep the facility clean during their stay and clean up prior to departing.&nbsp; Maid service is not available.&nbsp; Limited cleaning supplies are provided and guests must clean up after their stay.&nbsp; Check-out time is by 11:00 a.m.&nbsp; Reservations available June 10 through October 30.</p>

Only 6 people are able to sleep inside the cabin (2 bunk beds and 1 queen bed
available) with up to 50 people allowed within the site per reservation.
Reservations must be made on **recreation.gov**  or by calling 877-444-6777 at
least 2 days, and no more than 180 days, in advance. This site does not honor
America the Beautiful passes.

designated routes.  Please pack-out all you pack-in.  Camping stay limit is 16
days.

Tasha Equestrian Campground is located in central Utah, just 4 miles north of
beautiful Fish Lake at an elevation of 9,000 feet. Visitors enjoy horseback
riding and fishing for famous Mackinaw lake trout.

## Recreation

Many miles of horseback riding, hiking, biking and off-road vehicle trails
crisscross the area. Johnson Valley Reservoir is just a half-mile from the
campground, offering boating, fishing and a boat ramp.

## Facilities

Tasha Equestrian offers a group site with a picnic shelter, as well as single-
family sites. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided. Roads and spurs
are gravel, but have good access for trailers and trucks.  
  
The camp is fully equipped for campers with horses. Corrals, a staging area,
hitching racks and trailheads are located within the facility.

## Natural Features

Tasha's high mountain setting is beautiful but remote and is prone to rapid
weather changes due to its elevation. The site is forested with a mixed stand
of aspen, spruce and pines, which provides partial shade. Most sites provide
sweeping mountain and valley views.

Fish Lake, Utah's largest natural mountain lake, is less than 10 minutes from
the campground. The lake is famous for its 20-40 pound Mackinaw lake trout.
Boating, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the lake. Boat
ramps, rentals, a marina, fuel, groceries, restaurants and fishing and camping
supplies can all be found at Fish Lake.  
  
The Mytoge Mountain Trail, a 25-mile hiking/biking loop, offers everything
from easy cruising to challenging singletrack in the mountains around Fish
Lake.

The 5-mile Pelican Canyon Trail begins near by. It leads through meadows and
dense forests of spruce, pine and aspen as it climbs to the 11,633-foot Fish
Lake Hightop.

The popular Lakeshore National Recreation Trail exteds around the eastern side
of the lake. Hikers are rewarded with stunning lake views after climbing 900
feet in elevation.

Rec.gov. However thus far campground has never been full.
