Fees
Recreation Fee: Recreation fees are the fees a visitor pays for things like overnight camping, a day-use pavilion, group facilities, a tour or a permit. Recreation fees vary by location and/or activity.
Reservation Fee: A fee may be charged at the time a reservation is made to cover the cost of reservation services. This fee is in addition to the Recreation Fee and is non-refundable. Fees for camping, day use, group sites, cabins and lookouts: $8 if made on-line; $9 if made through the call center; $3 if made in-person.
Directions
Access is via Highway 50, 23 miles east of Placerville, California, then
7 miles north on Ice House Road,
turn left onto Peavine Ridge Road for 3 miles,
make a right turn on Bryant Springs Road, go 5 miles north across the dam and just past the boat ramp to the right

A very nice place to camp but the dust was terrible at the campsite. Need to put chips back on the site to keep the dust down.

Excellent camp host. Campsites, restrooms and garbage areas were clean and neat.

Bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve ever seen! Mosquitos weren’t great but if you keep your fire going, the smoke seems to get rid of them. I like how spacious the sites were, much bigger and farther from people than Collins, Rollins, Scott’s Flat, etc. However I wish the sites were closer to water. The site we stayed at was closest to the boat launch, not great for swimming but we didn’t mind much. Overall a good stay!

Terrible experience. The camp host was yelling at people at 12am. Which would have been fine if she did that and was done. But she proceeded to do that and then continue to yell at the for another 45 mins. Then she went to other camps to talk loudly about what just happened. Also other camps were super obnoxious with music until super late. The campground was fine overall. Number 9 is not great. Not much shade most of the day.

To be honest we were worried going into this camping trip that this campground was going to be noisy because of thw amount of double sites. We were very pleasantly surprised. The camp host was constantly driving around which I think made a big difference. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and our campsite (#15) had some nice tent spots and a good amount of afternoon shade. Our only complaint would be there wasn’t really good water access. The “boat ramp” needed to be cleared and with the lake level so high there wasn’t much beach available. Otherwise, we had a great trip and would definitely be back.
