Directions
From I-10, take exit 117 for CA Hwy 62 toward 29 Palms/Yucca Valley. This will allow you to access the West Entrance, the North Entrance, Black Rock, and Indian Cove.
Take exit 168 off I-10 to come in at the park's South Entrance.

As is often the case with our National Parks, the park itself was stunningly beautiful and the rangers were kind and helpful, yet we ended up near a noisy group that got confrontational with me when I asked them (after midnight) to please respect the quiet hours and their neighbors. Rangers, please watch the reservation system, when a bunch of people book 3-4 adjacent sites, they are really getting around the group camping rules, and usually this means they are being unruly and drinking and being loud all through the night.

The campsite was clean and it was nice and big. There was actually room for more than one car. The bathrooms were clean. We had a really good experience.

Went for the Meteor Shower had a great time second night was cloudy but first night we saw quite a few good ones. Had a dust storm blow in for a little over an hour had to wait it out in the truck. Set up a sun shade above the tent worked perfectly. Made the hike to Mastodon peak right out of the campsite left around 5:30 AM at first light
