Went for the Meteor Shower had a great time second night was cloudy but first night we saw quite a few good ones. Had a dust storm blow in for a little over an hour had to wait it out in the truck. Set up a sun shade above the tent worked perfectly. Made the hike to Mastodon peak right out of the campsite left around 5:30 AM at first light

My campsite didn’t have paved parking spot. It was a bit inconvenient. However, overall this was amazing campground.

Beautiful spot, amazing night sky, but needs enforcement of noisy disrespectful people

The campsite has several level spots for tents, plus a paved parking area that can fit two cars side by side. The campground itself is peaceful, quiet, and very dark—perfect for stargazing! The only downside is that this site is fairly close to the flush restrooms, so we could hear people flushing throughout the night. There are also only two restrooms, and the campground was quite busy during our stay, so there was a lot of foot traffic. Overall, Cottonwood Campground was clean, comfortable, and a great place to camp and enjoy the stars. We would definitely consider staying here again!

Excellent campground, it does the job. My only reason for leaving 4 stars is the fact that there was trash around the campsite. If this doesn't immediately fill you with rage, it should. This is the way we lose the remaining treasured places in our country. Have some respect for the National Park and clear out your f****** trash. If you bring it in, take it out with you.
