Directions
From Pittsburgh take I-79 North. Merge onto I-80 East exit 116a toward Clarion for 9.8 miles. Take the PA-8 exits 29 toward Barkeyville. Turn Left onto Pa-8/State Route 8 for 16.4 miles. Turn right on US-62 and follow US-62 for 34 miles. Turn right onto 36 South in to Tionesta. Turn right at the stop sign and continue 36 south for 2.0 miles and South Elm Street 1.5 miles into the Outflow Recreation Area.
From Warren travel US-62 South for 30 miles take left onto South Elm Street 1.5 miles into the Outflow Recreation Area.

The Outflow was closed. That should've been conveyed on the website. The hosts were very lovely people. The restroom/showers were not good but I've seen worse. Could definitely use some tlc.

Watch for low power lines along Outflow Road driving into Outflow campground, also the road gettings really rough with potholes. visit the small towns in the area. Cell was spotty at times being down in the valley.

We were there for 1 1/2 weeks and the grass was very high and never cut. The host was very unfriendly.

Campground was very quiet. Restroom was close to our campsite and was clean. We can’t wait to go back. Our site was very well shaded in the daytime. Site was also a very nice size.

The primitive tent sites in the Peter's Run area of the Outflow Campground are known habitats for Synchronous Firefly mating displays during the month of June and early July. If you refrain from using bright lights and lanterns, and keep your campfires low and purposeful, you would be amazed at the firefly displays that occur in these sites after 10 pm on warm nights. Let your eyes adjust to the darkness naturally, so you can keep a look out on the ground for glowing larvae, pupae and females. Better yet, keep the lights off year-round, and you will encourage and benefit other nocturnal creatures. Lights OUT For Lightning Bugs!
