Directions
Campground can be reached from Hwy 120 using Cherry Lake Road also known as Forest Road (FR) 1N07 or from Cottonwood Road also known as FR 1N04.
-Traveling from Hwy 120, go East from Groveland 13.8 miles turn left on Cherry Lake Road/1N07 for 23.5 miles where it becomes Cottonwood Road. Turn left and travel approximately 0.5 miles North. You will see the Cherry Valley Campground sign turn right North East .75 miles to campground.
-Traveling from Tuolumne, turn onto Buchanan Road this turns into Cottonwood Road/1N04 and travel approximately 30 miles. Turn left at Cherry Valley Campground sign. NOTE: The Tuolumne route is advisable for RV’s and towing.

The campground manager was awesome. The restrooms were immaculate and trash was emptied frequently. I do think the campground sites could use some mulch or something as not to be dirt/dust/powder ie sand box.

Lake was beautiful. Clear water, peaceful. This site is quite a trek to get to and so was the lake. If you walk from the camp site it’s about 10 minutes down a rocky hill side. Our site, 005 was near the restroom which for some reason at about 9am would smell like a dead body had been rotting in there for several weeks in the hot sun. Early morning it was usable but after 9 am. Rancid. Wish we would have thought ahead and brought kayaks or paddle boards for the lake but overall a great trip.

Camp site (39, a double), was large and clean...provided 2 picnic tables, 2 bear lockers, and a fire pit with a grill top. Proximity to Cherry lake was great. Shade was fine, plenty of hammock trees. All in all, great. About the area - it's not easy to find other things to do...we went exploring, and got very lucky trekking down to a river/swimming hole that was off the maps. Had that been a bust, it would have been a rough day. Plan out your activities, and have back ups. We originally planned to hike to Kibbie Lake...but then realized the 2.5 hours (each way) would have destroyed us after a day of kayaking. Plan B's...before you come.

Nice family camping area and site 20 was a nice size. I noticed a few ant holes, and these are huge black ants! So, set up the tent strategically as to avoid the ant holes. The neighbors around were pretty loud and it was hard to sleep the first night.
The bathrooms seemed regularly stocked and maintained.

My adult sons and I had a wonderful 3 night stay and experience at Cherry Lake. We've been coming here annually for years. The camp is clean and well-maintained. The hosts that we've had the pleasure to deal with have been helpful and friendly. We'll definitely continue to return each year.

Good campsites all around, we stayed in 5 and you get a pretty large area! The bathrooms are kept clean, and when we were at the campsite in the evenings, the camp host pretty much came hourly to check the trash in front of them. Cool little path at site 10 to get to Cherry Lake, and it seemed less crowded than the beach/ boat ramp part of Cherry Lake.
