Our experience at Panchuela campground was top notch. The sites are beautiful and well-spaced. Nelson, the volunteer campground host, keeps things in absolutely amazing shape. We truly appreciated his efforts to make the experience great for all campers. We ended up staying in three different sites at Panchuela: #1, #2, and #4. Site #2 is right by the stream, but we enjoyed the privacy in Site #4. Site #1 is an old CCC shelter and quite charming. Be prepared to walk a bit to your site, but it's worth it. An added bonus is the trailhead right near the camps leading to some excellent hiking.

Nice small relatively quiet campground. Shelters were convenient. Camp host was very nice and helpful. Camp signage needs to include bear prevention measures.
