It was a nice campground, the wind was really bad and it was very dusty but you can’t control Mother Nature.

Simpson Springs Campground is very well maintained and a great location. We knew there were no hookups, but were surprised that there is potable water here. We will definitely be back to see the wild horses again.

The scenery was beautiful and the history was cool. My daughter and I stayed there after a day of target shooting on BLM land (there was no shooting in the campground). Getting there required some travel on a well-maintained dirt road. There were a decent amount of flies during the day which were a little annoying, but they left once we got a campfire going. We saw a rattlesnake in the campground, a little bit off the path under a tree. The rattlesnake was a highlight for me, but might concern some.

We arrived early when the previous couple was packing up. We set up our tent in our reserved spot after they left so no one would take it reserved spot. The site was excellent. Plenty of shade, good tent site, water was close, and the view was amazing.
