Silver Thread Campground

This small single loop campground has eleven sites. Six are gravel pull through sites and five are dead end gravel spurs. There is a beautiful waterfall within a few hundred feet that you can hike to easily from the south end of the campground. The campground elevation is 9,500 feet.

This campground, just off the side of Colorado State Highway 149, is well suited for overnight stays and picnics with many level, pull-through camping sites. The area offers fishing in South Clear Creek and Brown Lakes. A short easy trail leads to the beauty of South Clear Creek Falls. Aspen provides shade for some of the campground sites while spruce trees abound on the surrounding hillsides. This is bear country and you will be required to practice safe food storage techniques.

This facility is located adjacent to State Highway 149 for easy access to through travelers on the Silver Thread Scenic Byway. It is located approximately ½ way between Creede, Colorado and Lake City Colorado. It has a freshwater system of centrally located spigots.
