Barn Hollow Float Camp

Stinking Pond located on the left side of the Eleven Point River near a 20
foot bluff about a mile below Turner Mill River Access. This access is located
5.7 miles below Greer Crossing. The campsites are accessible only from the
river.

The campground is on the edge of the river. The campsites are about 200 feet
back from the river and are screened from the river by trees and brush.

Downriver, the next takeout is McDowell (FS).

Stinking Pond located on the left side of the <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mtnf/recarea/?recid=21676">Eleven Point River</a> near a 20 foot bluff about a mile below <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mtnf/recarea/?recid=21684">Turner Mill River Access</a>. This access is located 5.7 miles below <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mtnf/recarea/?recid=21682">Greer Crossing</a>. The campsites are accessible only from the river.The campground is on the edge of the river. Stinking Pond Float Camp

The Whites Creek Float Camp is located on the left side of the Eleven Point
National Scenic River. This camp is just 0.5 miles below Whitten and is only
accessible by boat. This is a primitive dispersed campsite at the mouth of
White's Creek with a pit toilet.

The next takeout site downriver is Riverton East.

This float camp is on the Western side of the Irish Wilderness and provides
access to the Whites Creek Trail system.

The Whites Creek Float Camp is located on the left side of the <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mtnf/recarea/?recid=21676">Eleven Point National Scenic River</a>. This camp is just 0.5 miles below <a href="https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mtnf/recarea/?recid=21694">Whitten</a> and is only accessible by boat. The Greenbriar Float Camp is located on the left side of the Eleven Point

Greenbriar Float Camp

A you exit the highway, the campground is located to the left with campsites
located off of a loop road that circles through the campground. If you stay
straight you will get to the boat launch and day use area.

This campground is primarily used by people using the river. It's a nice flat,
level area immediately adjacent to the highway.

This campground is a hub that puts you in the vicinity of Greer Mill, Greer
Spring, and numerous other historic mills and springs. There are several
historic sites in the area also. These sites are not within walking distance,
but are a reasonable drive away along Highway 19.

When you access the site from the river, it will be located on the right-hand
side.

### Camping

The campground is set back away from the water's edge. A campground host is on
site in the summer. Sites, which offer seclusion and privacy, each with a
table, fire ring, and lantern post.

### Picnicking and Boating

A picnic area is near the boat access. The boating access is one of the most
popular launch sites for people floating the Eleven Point.

### Hiking

There is one trail available for hikers; a 4-mile trail that follows the river
and through typical Ozark hills up to McCormack Lake then circles back for a 2
mile walk back to Greer. This trail runs along the river and then back along
the hillside above the river.

### Fishing

Fishing is plentiful, there are rainbow trout, small mouth bass, and sunfish,
just to name a few.

There is a 50% discount for camping for anyone with an Interagency Access or
Senior Pass. Interagency passes cover the full day use fees, excluding busses.

Greer Crossing Recreation Area

Boze Mill Float Camp, located on the Eleven Point National Scenic River, can
be accessed from the river or down a short path from a parking area.

Boze Mill Spring forms a sparkling blue pool which produces between 12-14
million gallons of water per day. Aquatic plants add many shades of green to
the spring branch. The historical 1880's turbine and hand-layered rock wall
from the Lucas Boze grist mill still exist today. Boze Mill is nestled in a
beautiful glen beside the Eleven Point River just above Riverton, and was once
an important center of commerce where farmers could get wheat and corn ground
into flour. Boze Mill Spring is 423 feet in elevation.

_**Campground:**_ Primitive dispersed camping is allowed. A vault toilet is
centrally located.

_**Canoeing:**_ This is a popular stopping point for people canoeing on the
Eleven Point River.

_**Fishing:**_ Wade or float fishing for bass, rainbow trout, and pan fish.
Wading occurs, but the extremely cold water and swift current may be
hazardous.

Travelers by road, park at the trailhead and can walk in to gain river access
and picnic. Tables and grills are available. If you are floating into the
camp, the access upriver is Whitten (FS), downriver is Riverton East (FS).

McCormack Lake Recreation Area is surrounded by maple trees.

**_Hiking -_** There is hiking at McCormack Lake Recreation Area. This is a
trailhead in McCormack Lake Day Use Area for the 1.07-mileMcCormack Lake spur
trail, which connects to the Eleven Point River Section of the Ozark Trail and
the Lazy C Trail.

**_Fishing and Boating -_** The 15-acre lake is stocked annually with panfish
and bass being the catch of the day. During the warm months the vegetation in
the lake can make fishing and boating difficult. The lake is a non-motorized
area; boat motors are not allowed. An electric trolling motor is permitted.
There is ample parking for picnickers and fishermen.

**_Camping -_** The campground is primitive with limited picnic tables,
firerings and lantern posts. A vault toilet is provided. No water is
available.

Please be extra careful walking around the edge of the lakes during periods of
drawdown.

Mark Twain National Forest will conduct assessments and needed repairs on
control structures when the water is lowered. Invasive aquatic plants will
also be removed, improving fish habitat.

No long-term closures at these sites are planned at this time; but some
temporary closures may occur during times when heavy equipment is in
operation. If heavy equipment is operating, stay a safe distance away and
follow closure signage for your safety.

McCormack Lake, Markham Springs and Beaver Lake Low Water Levels

Fourche Lake Recreation Area is located on the 44-acre Fourche Lake, a
beautiful place to be outside.

The first thing you see as you enter the site is the boat launch and boat
launch parking. If you drive a little further you pass some campsites. At the
very end there is a loop where the toilet is, in the day use area.

The campground is surrounded by a oak, pine, and hickory forest. The campsites
are spaced out among the trees, to give some privacy.

from Morgan Spring. This camp is 7.7 miles downriver of Riverton. Footpaths
lead from the float camp to Morgan and Blue Springs.

There are three campsites available on a first come basis at this primitive
site. The vault toilet is located just up the trail from the campsites.

From this float camp the next take out is at Hwy 142 Access.

Old Thomasson Mill Spring was the original name for this beautiful spring back
in the days when a small grist mill by that name stood nearby. The area
contains unique geographic landforms and associated deep blue, mineral rich
springs that add 140 million gallons of brisk 58° water to the Eleven Point
River daily.   The site has a colorful history.  Thomasson water mill operated
along the Morgan Spring branch until the early 1900's and B.B. Morgan operated
an aquaculture business that provided millions of aquarium plants all around
the world.

All of this beauty could have been at the bottom of a lake if the Army Corps.
had not met such fiery opposition from Morgan and others who wanted to
preserve the Eleven Point River for posterity. The Eleven Point River was
protected by the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968, and the Narrows
property entered into Forest Service ownership in 1972.

The Mark Twain National Forest manages this site to protect natural features,
preserve historical aspects, and provide for a enjoyable user experience.
