It’s true when they say you walk into your campsite so pack the bare minimum for a night or two. The camp host was very helpful and tentative to bear sightings and getting them out of the campground. There was construction work overnight on Highway 89 which made for a loud evening, but it’s only temporary.

The walk in to site 9 was excessive. We are in good shape and were exhausted after lugging our gear in and out. A wheelbarrow or large wagon would be helpful. There’s also a problem bear that was stalking our site. We caught it sneaking up to us in the dark to try to steal food even though it was all in the box. It was very desensitized to humans (took a while for it to leave) and eventually got someone’s food a couple sites away. I’ve been around bear my whole life and this bear was the most brazen I’d ever seen.

Weather was great for stay. Love the location of Lake and public dock nearby. Host very attentive for bears and safety of campers. Rinse off shower or electricity connections would help location and campers.

Host was great. Road noise was a little more than I would prefer. Fire pits were so tall you couldn’t see the fire unless you built a massive one. A neighbor did not abide by the bear rules and a large cinnamon colored black bear got into all of their food and hung out a bit much. My dad and I named him Cecil. Be sure to keep your food and scented things put away properly and it should be no issue.

This was a fantastic location! So beautiful and you could walk right across the road to the water. It was perfect for sunrise as well being on the West side of the lake. Simple campground - but that's all you need somewhere like Tahoe.
