Clear Spring is located southwest of Paisley, Oregon and can be reached in
approximately one hour. At an elevation of about 5400 feet, this campground is
situated right along Dairy Creek.

There is one picnic table and fire ring, and a variety of dispersed camping
spaces.

This camp is primarily used by hunters during hunting season. You can fish for
rainbow trout in Dairy Creek.

Dairy Point Campground

The Corral Creek campground, located at the base of the Gearhart Mountain
Wilderness 45 minutes northeast of Bly, Oregon, offers six campsites in a
rustic lodgepole pine and meadow setting. Each site includes a picnic table,
fire ring, and there is one vault toilet. The creek flows along the edge of
the campground, and is fishable when the water level is sufficient.



This campground is an excellent location for access to the wilderness trail
system, including the trailhead for Lookout Rock and Blue Lake (Trail 100).
The trailhead lies about a half-mile from Corral Creek campground. You can do
an out and back hike or horseback ride to the Palisades, about three miles
round trip. Or, head to Blue Lake for a short backpacking excursion, about 18
miles round trip.



Besides wilderness users, this campground is popular with hunters during
hunting season. June and July are heavy mosquito months so bring bug spray.

Deadhorse Lake Campground

Located one hour 30 minutes southwest of Paisley, Oregon, Lee Thomas
Campground is located right on the banks of the North Fork of the Wild and
Scenic Sprague River. Lodgepole pine trees, rock outcroppings, and riparian
meadows characterize the landscape.

All seven campsites are close enough to hear the river riffling by. Campground
amenities include picnic tables, fire grates, one vault toilet, and potable
water.

Just one mile east of the campground is the Lee Thomas Trailhead, which
accesses Deadhorse Rim Trail #139.

Bald Butte Lookout is perched atop the windy summit of Bald Butte in the
Fremont-Winema National Forest in south-central Oregon. It is surrounded by
forested hillsides and expansive views.  
  
The lookout was built in 1931 and served as a Forest Service fire detection
site for over 50 years. It was constructed from an Aladdin L4 ground-mounted
lookout kit in which all of the pieces were pre-cut in six-foot lengths or
less so the entire kit could be packed by horses into the remote site. The
total cost of the structure at the time was $668.49 and only took a few days
to assemble.  
  
At one time, hundreds of these types of lookouts were in service throughout
the Pacific Northwest. Today only two such structures remain in Oregon,
providing a unique lodging experience for guests seeking recreation and

Butte Trail is a quiet all-season trail that offers a variety of terrain and
wildlife viewing opportunities. Hikers traverse large open meadows filled with
summer wildflowers, heavily wooded forests and ridgetop scrambles along Oak
Ridge Trail and Surveyor's Ridge Trail, overlooking the Hood River Valley.
Trails in the Gearhart Mountain Wilderness are also nearby.  
  
At night the lookout provides an ideal setting for stargazing, as

The 14' x 14' lookout is furnished with two cots, a table, bench and storage
cabinets. It is also equipped with a propane heater, cook stove, and lights.
An outdoor picnic table and an accessible vault toilet are also on-site.  
There is no water on-site, so guests must bring sufficient supplies for
drinking, cooking and washing. Guests must also provide their own sleeping
bags, linens, towels, dish soap, matches, cooking gear, first aid kit, toilet
paper, ice cooler and garbage bags. Although lighting is available, it is
recommended that guests bring an additional light source in case of
emergencies.

landscapes, wide-open sage basins, scenic vistas and wild places where
visitors can still find solitude.  
  
Nearby Gearhart Wilderness offers 22,823 acres of scenic views and primitive
recreational opportunities. Throughout the remote area, streams rush through
narrow meadows and Blue Lake lies nestled beneath a canopy of mixed-conifer
forests. Rock formations cap most of the high elevation ridge tops.

river canyon. You can hike, mountain bike, or horseback ride north to Yamsay
Mountain or south to Cox Pass. A pedestrian bridge crosses the river and links
to the trail.

There are many fishing opportunities for rainbow and brook trout. The site  is
surrounded by a high desert, pine, and juniper setting. Amenities include a
vault toilet, parking area, adequate trailer turnaround, horse corrals, and
each of the five campsites has a picnic table and fire ring.

sighted strolling through the campground. It's essential to pack all food away
in vehicles or hang it high.

This campground features 22 campsite, six vault toilets, potable water, and a
seasonal camp host. Each campgrounds has a picnic table and campfire ring.

Additionally, there are four walk-in, tent only sites and one horse camp site.
The horse camp includes its own corral and water area as well as a trailer
turn-around. This high-elevation camp is generally free of snow mid-June
through mid-October.

Cotton Meadows Lake, stocked with rainbow and Brook trout, offers excellent
fishing. There are two day use areas and a boat launch on the lake. Only non-
motorized and electric boat motors are allowed. Other recreation opportunities
include hiking and exploring.

Each campgrounds has a picnic table and campfire ring.Additionally, there are four walk-in, tent only sites and one horse camp site. The horse camp includes its own corral and water area as well as a trailer turn-around. This high-elevation camp is generally free of snow mid-June through mid-October.Cotton Meadows Lake, stocked with rainbow and Brook trout, offers excellent fishing. There are two day use areas and a boat launch on the lake. Only non-motorized and electric boat motors are allowed.&nbsp;Other recreation opportunities include hiking and exploring.

Cottonwood Recreation Area Campground

Lofton Reservoir Campground is one of the three main points of interest in the
Lofton Recreation Area. Located 45 minutes east of Bly, Oregon, this highly
developed campground features 26 campsites.  24 of the campsites are RV sites.
The road is paved all the way to Lofton Area Reservoir, ideal if you're towing
a trailer or boat.

A camp host is on site throughout the summer months and provides visitor
information. These spacious campsites accommodate trailers and feature grills,
fire rings, picnic tables, and tent pads. There are four vault toilets, five
group sites, and one ADA designated site.

This high elevation forest setting showcases a mixed conifer stand. The
refreshing lakeside environment attracts migratory birds and deer. Although
the water level varies in the reservoir, it is stocked annually. There is a
boat ramp and dock that is ADA accessible.

Besides fishing and relaxing, you can hike 1.5 miles to Heart Lake on a
defined trail. This hike is uphill on the way back to Lofton, making it a
moderate 3 mile round-trip trek. Some campers bring their pole, food, and make
it a day outing of fishing, picnicking, and hiking.

There is no potable water. Visitors need to pack an adequate supply of water.

or Winter Ridge. As the trail heads west to Hager Mountain, there are vistas
of Summer Lake. It's about a 29 mile ride to Antler Horse Camp.
