The Hams Fork Campground is located on the Big Spring Scenic Backway or Hams
Fork Road, Forest Road #10062, north of Kemmerer. The Campground has 13 sites,
2 vault toilets, potable water, and trash service in the summer. The Hams Fork
Campground is a good base camp for recreating on the south end of the Kemmerer
Ranger District with just a short drive to Big Spring for a picnic, a nice
long scenic drive up Hobble Creek, a variety of hiking trails, and fantastic
fishing in the Hams Fork River.

<p>The Hams Fork Campground is located on the Big Spring Scenic Backway or Hams Fork Road, Forest Road #10062, north of Kemmerer. Snyder Guard Station is located in beautiful Snyder Basin, **22 miles west of
Big Piney, Wyoming**. The cabin makes an excellent destination for outdoor
enthusiasts looking to hike, mountain bike, horseback ride, snowmachine, hunt
or fish. Photographers are enchanted by the region's landscape and
opportunities for wildlife watching.  
  
  
Open year-round, the cabin provides a horse corral for equestrian campers and
allows pets as well. **Winter access is by snowmobile, snowshoes or cross-
country skis on a 10-mile trail.**

## Recreation

The Wyoming Range National Recreation Trail can be accessed nearby within the
basin, offering exciting hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding
opportunities. Nearby streams provide trout fishing.  
  
In winter months, nearly 100 miles of snowmobile trails are open for
exploring. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are other popular cold weather
activities.

## Facilities

The rustic log cabin sleeps four people and has propane heat and propane
lights. Propane will be shut off at the cabin upon arrival. **Guests will need
to turn the propane on upon arrival. The cutoff valve is located on the SW
corner (Fridge corner) on the outside of the cabin. Please turn propane off at
the cabin upon departure.** A wood burning stove was installed in 2018 to help
with the heat. A vault toilet is located outside next to the building. Two
bunk beds with mattresses are provided, as well as two dressers, a cabinet,
and two chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a propane cook stove, a variety
of cookware and utensils, a table with four chairs, a refrigerator and a sink.
No electricity is available, guests must bring their own supply of water for
drinking, cooking and cleaning. Recommended items to bring include food,
bedding, matches, dish soap, dish rags, toilet paper, garbage bags and a
flashlight.

Mice, bats, birds, spiders and other small rodents and insect do live in the
wild and mountain areas. Be prepared to have them in and around the cabin
area. Please NEVER leave a live trap set after you leave.

In winter months, nearly 100 miles of snowmobile trails are open for exploring. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are other popular cold weather activities.<h2>Facilities</h2>
<p>The rustic log cabin sleeps four people and has propane heat and propane lights. Propane will be shut off at the cabin upon arrival. <strong>Guests will need to turn the propane on upon arrival. The cutoff valve is located on the SW corner (Fridge corner) on the outside of the cabin. Please turn propane off at the cabin upon departure.</strong> A wood burning stove was installed in 2018 to help with the heat. A vault toilet is located outside next to the building. Two bunk beds with mattresses are provided, as well as two dressers, a cabinet, and two chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a propane cook stove, a variety of cookware and utensils, a table with four chairs, a refrigerator and a sink. No electricity is available, guests must bring their own supply of water for drinking, cooking and cleaning. Recommended items to bring include food, bedding, matches, dish soap, dish rags, toilet paper, garbage bags and a flashlight.  </p><p>Mice, bats, birds, spiders and other small rodents and insect do live in the wild and mountain areas. Be prepared to have them in and around the cabin area. Please NEVER leave a live trap set after you leave.</p><h2>Natural Features</h2>
The cabin sits in a grassy meadow surrounded by pine trees at an elevation of 8,000 feet. The cabin compound provides views of picturesque peaks including Riley Ridge.

Moose, elk, eagles and sandhill cranes are among the wildlife likely to be seen. An abundance of wildflowers color the landscape in summer.

north and the historic Lander Cutoff of the Oregon Trail to the south.

southeast of Afton, Wyoming. North Fork Creek runs near this site where pines
and aspens offer partial shade. The lake offers great boating for smaller
craft (there is no ramp available) and fishing for brook and cutthroat trout.
Trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and ATVs begin within the site.

This campground offers 18 campsites total. On the west loop, 6 sites have
hitching rails for horses, and three small pipe-rail horse corrals are
provided. Water must be carried to corrals. On the east loop, ATVs are allowed
because a trail allowing motorized use takes off from the back of the loop,
and 3 walk-in sites are also available for tent campers. Except for site 13,
these sites are all single-family campsites which are available on a first
come, first served basis. Site 13 is a reservable group tenting site--see
recreation.gov. Potable water is available in the east loop, as well as vault
toilets. The stay limit at this campground is 14-days.

Day. Sacajawea Campground puts visitors in the heart of the Big Piney Ranger
District with quick access to the Wyoming Range National Recreation Trail,
Middle Piney Lake, North Piney Lake ATV trail and the historic Lander Cutoff
of the Oregon Trail. The water is shut off every winter season.

Cazier Cabin is a historic Forest Service guard station built by the Civilian
Conservation Corps in 1933. Located near the Greys River about 46 miles from
Alpine, Wyoming, the cabin offers fishing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain
biking and cross-country skiing opportunities. In winter, access is by
snowmobile on a groomed trail.

## Recreation

The Corral Creek Trail is easily accessed from the cabin and connects to
Corral Creek Lake and the Swift, Dry and Cottonwood Creek drainages on the
west side of the range. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking,
horseback riding and off-road vehicle riding on designated routes. In winter,
cross country skiing is available right out the front door of the cabin. Greys
River offers trout fishing.

mattresses. Five additional guests may camp just outside the cabin.Drinking
water, flush toilet and showers are available approximately mid-June to Labor
