  * For reservations with dates at the end of the available booking window (a.k.a. sliding window), you will not be able to make changes or cancellations until the site has been available to the general public for 18 days. 

**Cancellations**

entire amount but will not be charged a service fee.

**Early Departures**

If you spend at least one night and then leave prior to the scheduled
departure check-out date, please contact the BLM Moab Field Office
(435-259-2100) to open the remaining nights for others to use. You will not be
able to cancel these nights through your Recreation.gov account.

You will be eligible for a partial refund of the nights AFTER you depart that
you did not use. If you depart after the facility check-out time (Noon), you
will not be eligible for a refund for that night.

**No-Shows**

A No Show occurs if you do not arrive at your campsite or cancel your
reservation by check-out time (Noon) on the day after the scheduled arrival
date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time (Noon) on the day
following the arrival date.

No-shows are assessed a $20.00 Recreation.gov service fee and forfeit the
first night’s use fee.

**Refunds**

You can submit a refund request through your Recreation.gov account within 7
days of the departure/end date of your reservation.

Applicable fees, such as the Recreation.gov reservation fees,
service/cancellation fees, lottery application fees, and change fees, are non-
refundable.

Refunds cannot be issued to any card other than the one used to pay.

In the event of an emergency closure, all fees will be refunded. Attempts will

The Colorado River is known for extraordinary boating trips including the Ruby-Horsethief section up-river of Westwater Canyon and the Cataract Canyon and Grand Canyon sections downstream.    
The Ruby-Horsethief section of the Colorado River, from Loma, Colorado, to Westwater, Utah, is a 25-mile stretch of mostly flat-water with sections of Class I and II rapids. This section of the Colorado runs through beautiful red rock canyons and has many day hiking opportunities offering both solitude and exploration. 
Westwater Canyon offers boating excitement for experienced adventurers to test their skills navigating 11 named rapids ranging in difficulty from class I to class IV. While boating down the canyon, the area offers views of incredible geology and day hiking with glimpses of abandoned settler cabins and caves. Approximately 10,000 people float this section of the Colorado River each year. The 17-mile stretch is surrounded by the Westwater Wilderness Study Area.

The cities of Grand Junction and Fruita, CO along with McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area (https://www.blm.gov/programs/national-conservation-lands/colorado/mcinnis-canyons) and Colorado National Monument are located approximately 35 miles to the east.

Changes
You can make changes to a reservation through your online Recreation.gov user account any time prior to the arrival/first date of the reservation.

<li>There is a $10 change fee If you wish to change to dates entirely outside of the original reservation dates.</li>
<li>There is no change fee if you wish to extend or shorten the original reservation dates as long as the changes include dates from the original reservation.  </li>
<li>You cannot make changes to your reservation after the arrival/first day through your Recreation.gov account. However, the BLM Moab Field Office may be able to assist you, 435-259-2100.   </li>
<li>For reservations with dates at the end of the available booking window (a.k.a. sliding window), you will not be able to make changes or cancellations until the site has been available to the general public for four days.  </li>
</ul>

Cancellations
Please cancel your reservation if you do not plan to use it. This opens highly sought-after campsites for others to reserve.     
You can cancel your reservation online through your Recreation.gov user account or through the call center (call center incurs an additional fee). You may also contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation.   

Late Cancellations 
A late cancellation occurs less the 14 days before the arrival/first date of the reservation (a.k.a. cut-off window).
Late cancellations will incur a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee.  

Early Departures
If you spend at least one night and then leave prior to the scheduled departure check-out date, please contact the BLM Moab Field Office (435-259-2100) to open the remaining nights for others to use. You will not be able to cancel these nights through your Recreation.gov account.
You will be eligible for a partial refund of the nights AFTER you depart that you did not use. If you depart after the facility check-out time, you will not be eligible for a refund for that night  

No-Shows
A No Show occurs if you do not arrive at your campsite or cancel your reservation by check-out time (Noon) on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time (Noon) on the day following the arrival date. 
No-shows are assessed a $20.00 Recreation.gov service fee and forfeit the first night’s recreation fee.  

Refunds
You can submit a refund request through your Recreation.gov account within 7 days of the departure/end date of your reservation.

<li>Refunds cannot be issued to any card other than the one used to pay. </li>

Knowles Overlook is through a dry stream bed and changes quickly with passing
storms. 4-wheel drive and high clearance may be needed to access Knowles
Overlook. The best sites for RVs are the Koniklos (Equestrian) and Fluffle
campgrounds and select High North sites.

Located in western Colorado, the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area
offers stunning views and endless recreational opportunities ranging from
camping, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and off-roading. Visit

are required for all camping within Rabbit Valley.

Colorado Plateau. With scenic views of the Colorado River, the San Juan and La
Sal Mountains, the Colorado National Monument, and the western flanks of the
10,000 ft. Grand Mesa - the largest flat-topped mountain in the world, make
this a must-see area.

This area is known for its paleontological resources with the family friendly
hike the “Trail Trough Time.” Here you can learn about this area’s history and
experience dinosaur bones on the landscape through a self-guided interpretive
hike.

Vegetation here is sparse, with only occasional green-ups and wildflower
blooms following wet weather. Average annual precipitation is less than 10
inches. Temperature extremes range from below zero to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
Temperatures are more moderate during the spring and fall.

The Rabbit Valley Area is just west of Fruita CO, which serves as a hub for
outdoor recreation on nearby public lands including the red-rock canyons of
Colorado National Monument, and the rest of the McInnis Canyons National
Conservation Area (MCNCA) - home of the Kokopelli trail system, the Ruby-
Horsethief section of the Colorado River, Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness and
the Rabbit Valley recreation area.

The Monument and MCNCA along with the other public lands surrounding the Grand
Valley - formed by the Colorado River flowing between Palisade to Loma - offer
something for everyone, from scenic drives to hiking, horseback riding,
biking, rafting, rock climbing, wildlife viewing, and off-roading. The Grand
Valley is also well-known for its orchards, vineyards and wineries, and the
distinct and vibrant communities of Palisade, Grand Junction, and Fruita.

## Charges & Cancellations

Changes may be made to your reservation until 24 hours before the reserved
date. A full refund, minus the $8 reservation fee, will be given if canceled
48 hours before the first reserved date. Please note, you cannot change your
check-in date. If you would like to change your check-in date, you will need
to cancel your entire reservation and rebook.

**Refunds will not be given for undesirable weather or road conditions.**

The Rabbit Valley Area is just west of Fruita CO, which serves as a hub for outdoor recreation on nearby public lands including the red-rock canyons of Colorado National Monument, and the rest of the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area (MCNCA) - home of the Kokopelli trail system, the Ruby-Horsethief section of the Colorado River, Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness and the Rabbit Valley recreation area.  

The Monument and MCNCA along with the other public lands surrounding the Grand Valley - formed by the Colorado River flowing between Palisade to Loma - offer something for everyone, from scenic drives to hiking, horseback riding, biking, rafting, rock climbing, wildlife viewing, and off-roading. The Grand Valley is also well-known for its orchards, vineyards and wineries, and the distinct and vibrant communities of Palisade, Grand Junction, and Fruita.

Changes may be made to your reservation until 24 hours before the reserved date. A full refund, minus the $8 reservation fee, will be given if canceled 48 hours before the first reserved date. Please note, you cannot change your check-in date. If you would like to change your check-in date, you will need to cancel your entire reservation and rebook.  
Refunds will not be given for undesirable weather or road conditions.

Campsite rates are $20 per night and include up to 10 people and 2 vehicles.
There is an $8 non-refundable reservation fee for each reservation. Please
note, you cannot change your check-in date. If you would like to change your
check-in date, you will need to cancel your entire reservation and rebook.

McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area

Rattlesnake and Mee Canyon provide outstanding opportunities for solitude and
primitive recreation. Geologic features in this area include arches, spires,
windows, giant alcoves and desert patina. Between these canyons are pinon-
juniper covered mesas which slope downward to the Colorado River. RATTLESNAKE
ARCHES: A short section connecting the top of the mesa to the bench below the
arches is rocky and steep and requires extra caution - it is not recommended.
From the trailhead travel 0.5 miles to an intersection. To the left takes you
to an area where you can view the arches from above. To the right takes you to
the Lower Arches Trail, which is 5 miles round trip (out and back). In 0.2
miles the trail splits - to the right goes to Pollock Bench Trailhead; stay to
the left for the arches trail. Camping is NOT permitted within 1/4 mile of the
Rattlesnake Arches Loop and along the access road to the trailhead. MEE
CANYON: The trail into Mee Canyon is primitive and only marked with rock
cairns. The route steeply descends sandstone layers with exposed cliffs.
Camping is NOT permitted at the Mee Canyon Alcove. **Leave No Trace

opportunities. Trails range in difficulty and skill level. Rustler's Loop, for
example, is designed as a practice loop where riders can hone their skills -
educational signs give tips and advice for those new to the sport of mountain
biking. The area provides excellent views and scenery of the Colorado River
and beyond. It is close to the City of Fruita.

Wildlife under agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation, Western Colorado Area
Office - Northern Division, Grand Junction, Colorado. It was acquired and
developed to partially replace wildlife habitat values lost as a result of the
construction of the
<"http://www.usbr.gov/projects/Project.jsp?proj_Name=Colorado+River+Basin+Salinity+Control+Project">Grand
Valley Unit of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Project.Horsethief
Canyon State Wildlife Area has 2,080 acres of land which offers access to
various trails leading to a wilderness area. The area receives about 1,500
visits per year with visitation expected to increase as the area becomes
better known. The area follows the Colorado River. Because this area follows
the river and its primary function is for wildlife habitat, insects can be a
nuisance, especially during the spring and early summer. Insect repellent,
hats, long-sleeves and pants are recommended.
