excellent water sports and five species of sport fish. After a day on the
water, camp under the night sky at one of the several campgrounds, all with

nonmotorized trail tracing the western hillside of the reservoir open to
mountain biking, horses and hiking. The park and campground offer full

southwest of Heber City, at an elevation of 5,420-feet. The reservoir has a
surface area of 2,680 acres. The managed recreation season is April through
November. This recreation area experiences heavy use. Fish species include
rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, and largemouth bass. Charleston and Aspen
Grove U.S. Geological Service maps cover the area. eservations accepted at
some campsites. Fees are charged. Stream fishing occurs both above and below
the reservoir in the Provo River. Reservations can be made by calling

full. Recreation management at Jordanelle Reservoir is performed by the Utah
Division of Parks and Recreation under agreement with the Bureau of
Reclamation. Managed recreation season is year-round with heavy use in the
summer months. Opportunities for fishing occur above the reservoir, in the
reservoir and below the reservoir and the available species include rainbow,
cutthroat, brown trout, and smallmouth bass. The area also offers wetlands and
wet meadows surrounded by scrub oak hillsides, croplands, and sagebrush below
the dam. At least 89 bird species, including 66 neotropical migrants, were
seen. These include the Cedar Waxwing, Fox Sparrow, Cassin's Finch, Sandhill
Crane, and Virginia Rail. Bird activity peaks during the months of April
through October. Bald Eagles and Northern Pygmy Owl are present during the
winter.
