Talimena Scenic Drive - Oklahoma

**Getting to the Byway:** ###From Tulsa, OK### * Take the Muskogee Turnpike southeast to I-40. * Go east on I-40 to Exit 307. * Turn south on U.S. 59. * Just past Poteau, turn onto U.S. 271 toward Wister. * In the Ouachita National Forest turn east on State Route 1, the beginning of the Talimena Scenic Byway in Oklahoma. **Navigating the Byway:** The byway begins at the junction of US Hwy 271 and State Road 1 in the Ouachita National Forest about eight miles east of Talihina, OK. * Start the byway by driving State Road 1 east from Highway 271. * The byway will intersect with Highway 259. Continue on State Road 1. * The Oklahoma section of the byway ends at the OK-AR state border.
