The project is located in the northeast portion of Wisconsin in the middle of
The Door County peninsula. The ship canal is used as a shortcut for vessels
using the ports of Green Bay and Menominee. Acreage along the northern side of
the canal has a hiking trail and scenic overlook with parking.
