Silver Creek (North and South)

In Idaho, BLM manages over 67,000 acres of public lands in the Raven's Eye
Wilderness Study Area. This WSA contains three prominent volcanic cones
including Spud Butte Broken, Top Butte and an unnamed cone north of Wagon
Butte. Elevations in the WSA range from 4600 feet in the southern portion to
5003 feet at the summit of Spud Butte.

Wilderness Study Area. Sand Butte WSA is composed of an older lava flow
covered by wind-deposited soils. The crater was formed by a violent explosion
caused by the rapid generation of steam when erupting magma contacted ground
water. Elevations range from 4250 feet, along the WSAs southern boundary, to
4974 feet at the summit of Sand Butte. Vegetation generally consists of
sagebrush interspersed with grasses and forbs.

Little Wood Reservoir which is formed by Little Wood Dam is a major facility
of the Little Wood Project. Managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, this
600-acre impoundment offers a 360-acre reservoir with 9 miles of shoreline.
Boating and fishing are the major recreation activities at Little Wood
Reservoir, located in southcentral Idaho, about 70 miles northeast of Twin
Falls. Fishing opportunities for rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout. Season
open year-round.Site offers: restrooms, boat ramps, campground, parking,
picnic tables, and swimming.  Boat ramp elevations.

Wilderness Study Area. Black Butte is an inactive volcano of recent origin
(4000 to 6000 years ago) rising about 200 feet above the surrounding older
lava plateau. The rugged volcanic features and desert environment have
outstanding opportunities for camping, hiking, geologic study and photography.
Camping and hiking can be challenging here on the rough lava and steep slopes.
Some hunting also occurs primarily on the lower slopes and western part of the
WSA. Recommended time to visit this area is spring and fall to avoid extreme
temperatures in winter and summer.
