Scofield Dam, Scofield Project, is on the Price River, a tributary of the
Green River, about 22 miles northwest of Price, Utah. Recreation management at
Scofield Reservoir is performed by the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation
under agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation. This recreation area is
situated north of Scofield, Utah at an elevation of 7,620 feet. The Reservoir
has a surface area of about 2,800 acres when full. Managed recreation season
is May through November with high use on holidays, weekends. During winter
months, ice fishing is available. Common fish species include walleye,
smallmouth bass, and brown trout. Fees charged. Reservations accepted for some
campsites. Scofield Reservoir and Scofield U.S. Geological Service maps cover

of bristlecone pine trees. The bristlecone pine tree is one of the longest
living life forms on Earth.

The entrance road and scenic overlook road are easily accessible by automobile
while hiking trails provide excellent views of our rugged canyon country.

12 Large, well-spaced campsites area available as first come first serve.
Facilities at the campground include picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilets
and parking spaces. Three group picnic areas with large picnic tables, toilets
fire rings and paring are available by reservation call 435-636- 3600.

There is a nature trail that leads to stands of bristle cone pine trees then
follows the old road to the Ford Ridge communication towers.

The road up to Price Canyon Recreation Area is narrow and steep, with tight
turns and switchbacks. Long vehicle lengths not recommended. Total vehicle
length should generally not exceed 40 feet (truck with a short trailer).

The price Canyon Recreation Area is a U.S. Fee Area. A nominal fee of $15 is
charged for overnight camping and reservation of the group picnic areas.
