Reviews

San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park offers a unique and scenic anchorage in the heart of the city with friendly and professional staff. The location provides good holding in mostly soft mud and is close to many city attractions. Swimmers are abundant in the cove, requiring careful navigation, and there is no dedicated dinghy dock, which may be challenging for some visitors. The anchorage can be rolly at times, especially with certain wind conditions, but overall it is well managed and highly recommended by visitors.

David the park director was very welcoming and extremely professional. He is a true asset of Aquatic Park. His commitment to the park really shows. He is also great communicator. I wish there were more people like him. He is a 5 star person.

I had a great anchor out here in late May. The winds were quite strong mid-day, but the muddy bottom held the anchor firm with a 5-1 scope. We ended up right in the middle of the anchorage as the small Sea Scout boats were anchored on the windward side. The cost to anchor here is very reasonable! The views are amazing too. The staff was very friendly, helpful - providing great tips for going to shore. Call or radio them when you anchor to save them a trip out in a dingy.

Aquatic Park is the best anchorage in SF and gem for recreational boaters on the west coast. Visitors find this to be a unique opportunity to anchor in front of an iconic spot.
