Russell-Brasstown National Scenic Byway

**Getting to the Byway:** _Atlanta International Airport, GA_ From Atlanta Airport, head northeast on I-85 N. Take exit 87 to merge onto GA-400 N. Continue on GA-400 N/US-19 N. Continue onto Copper Creek Dr. Turn right onto GA-52 E/State Route 52 S. Continue onto GA-115 N/ Cleveland Hwy/Dahlonega Hwy. Turn left onto Wilford Ash SR Parkway. Continue on GA-75 N. Continue until you have reached GA-17 N/GA-75 N/Unicoi Turnpike and you are now on the Russell-Brasstown National Scenic Byway. _Atlanta International Airport, GA_ * Head west on S. Terminal Pkwy. * Slight right toward Airport Blvd. * Continue straight on Airport Blvd. * Take the I-85/Camp Creek Pkwy Ramp toward Atlanta. * Keep left at the fork and follow the signs to I-85 N. * Slight left at I-985 N. * Take exit 24 for US-29 toward Gainesville. * Turn left at GA-11/Jesse Jewell Pkwy. * Turn right at Limestone Pkwy. * Slight right at Cleveland Pkwy. * Turn right at GA-75. * End just north of Robertstown, on the byway. _Atlanta, GA_ From Atlanta Airport, head northeast on I-85 N. Take exit 87 to merge onto GA-400 N. Continue on GA-400 N/US-19 N. Continue onto Copper Creek Dr. Turn right onto GA-52 E/State Route 52 S. Continue onto GA-115 N/ Cleveland Hwy/Dahlonega Hwy. Turn left onto Wilford Ash SR Parkway. Continue on GA-75 N. Continue until you have reached GA-17 N/GA-75 N/Unicoi Turnpike and you are now on the Russell-Brasstown National Scenic Byway. _Atlanta, GA_ * Take I-85 north out of Atlanta. * Merge onto I-985 north. * Stay on I-985 as it becomes US-23 north. * Turn northwest onto GA-384. * Turn west onto GA-75/Unicoi Turnpike. * The byway begins at the intersection of GA-75 and GA-75 Alternate. _Anna Ruby Falls Scenic Area, GA_ From Anna Ruby Falls head south on Anna Ruby Falls Rd. Turn right to stay on road. Continue to GA-356 W then turn right onto GA-17 N/GA-75 N/Unicoi Turnpike and continue north to stay on the Russell-Brasstown Scenic Highway. _Unicoi State Park, GA_ From the Unicoi State Park and Lodge head west on GA-356 W. Turn right onto GA-17 N/GA-75 N/Unicoi Turnpike. Once you have reached the intersection of Clayton Road and the Unicoi Turnpike, you are on the Russell-Brasstown National Scenic Byway. **Navigating the Byway:** * The Russel-Brasstown National Scenic Byway starts northwest of Helen, Georgia, at the junction of SR 75 and the Unicoi Turnpike. * Drive northwest at the Unicoi turnpike to SR 180. * Head west to GA 180 and from here, take a short detour to the Brasstown Bald Visitor Center by driving north on GA 180 to the end of the road. * After enjoying the visitor center, head back to the junction of SR 180 and GA 180. * Continue south to Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway. * Head south to GA 75 then drive north, back to the Unicoi Turnpike.
