The Parker Dam Road Back Country Byway is located about 35 miles south of Lake Havasu City along the Arizona-California border. From Interstate 10, travel California State Highway 95 or Arizona State Highway 95 north about 40 miles to Parker. From Parker, travel, Arizona State Highway 95 along the Colorado River toward Lake Havasu, or cross the bridge into California to Parker Dam Road. Or from Interstate 40, travel Arizona State Highway 95 south about 35 miles through Lake Havasu City into Parker. At Parker Dam, take Arizona State Highway 95S, which becomes Parker Dam Road after crossing the dam. For the Parker Strip Recreation Area in Arizona, remain on Arizona State Highway 95 and Business Route 95 for facilities. Please obey all posted signs and traffic laws. The speed limit is marked by signs, ranging from 15 to 55 miles per hour. The two-lane road surface is asphalt, making this a great adventure for most road-worthy vehicles. Oversized vehicles and vehicles towing trailers are not allowed to cross the Parker Dam.
