You may want to avoid gopher holes near campsite 11 Thumb Camp. We found a four foot plus rattlesnake eating a gopher there.

Buck pasture 13 was flat, plenty of shade and great views! Bathroom was clean and trash was picked up daily.

Beautiful camp site and reasonably sized. Drawbacks; the vault toilets were FULL to the brim. Not ideal at all. The restrooms are also in the center of the campground which means you may have to walk through other folks camp sites to get to them or others may be walking through your site. There's also no trash can at camp site #7 so we had to hike garbage down to other sites. It's boat-in camping, I anticipated drawbacks. The trip was still well worth it.

I rented 5 campsites at Lone Pine and when we arrive the previous party was still there packing up. The trash cans were all full and the bathroom was disgusting NO toilet seat! I've been doing this for several years and this year was disappointing. We also had campers directly across that played loud music until 4:30am. The lack of garbage pick up and bathroom situation was challenging.

Lake Sonoma is a beautiful reservoir nestled between mountains on all sides. The lakes different tentacles are very enjoyable to explore.
Our campsite in the Skunk area were nice and relatively quiet. We were originally scheduled to be in a Thumb camp however, someone had taken our spot.
The Pitt restrooms in the skunk campsite were clean and very good. Each campsite had a trashcan with a liner. The campsites also had a post to hang food out of reach from environment.
The lake is a squishy mud bottom lake, so be prepared with proper footwear.
Popularity: Very quiet
Busiest in August, when about 12% of guest capacity is reserved. Based on 11 years of reservations.
