**Getting to the Byway:**
_Asheville, NC_
* From downtown Asheville take US 25 (McDowell St) south. * Continue on US 25 which becomes Hendersonville Rd. * Take the on-ramp for I-40 westbound. * Get on to I-26 south. * Continue on I-26 and take exit 40 for NC-280 toward Arden. * Take a right on US-276/US-64 to the Pisgah National Forest and the southern entrance of the byway.
_Hendersonville, NC_
* From downtown Hendersonville, head west on 6th Ave W which is US 64. * At the junction with NC 280 and US 276, continue heading straight onto US 276. * The Forest Heritage Scenic Byway begins at the entrance to the Pisgah National Forest.
_Waynesville, NC_
* Head east on US 276 away from downtown Waynesville. * Continue heading south and east. * U.S. 276 turns into the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway at the parking lot for the Shining Rock Wilderness Area, south of Cruso.
**Navigating the Byway:**
The byway begins at the junction of US 280, 64, and 276. * Take US 276
northwest. * Continue on US 276 for 17.6 miles through the Pisgah National
Forest. * The route goes under the Blue Ridge Parkway. * The byway ends at the
parking lot of the Big East Fork Trailhead for the Shining Rock Wilderness
Area.
