Utah State Parks and Recreation and the Utah Hang Gliding and Paragliding
Association (UHGPGA) are partnering to preserve this unique recreation area
that is an excellent site for teaching and gathering experience for flyers of
all levels. It is known worldwide as one of the best training sites for both
paragliding and hang gliding.

Flight Park State Recreation Area is being jointly managed by Utah State Parks
and Recreation and the Utah Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (UHGPGA).
Each year approximately 700 pilots fly the point and nearly 30 percent of

There are currently no fees to enter Flight State Park.

Utah State Parks: Utah’s largest freshwater lake provides fishing access for
channel catfish, walleye, white bass, black bass, and several species of
panfish. Spend an evening RV or tent camping, then powerboat, canoe, or sail
the day away on Utah Lake. Food concessions available at DD Grill beginning
Memorial Day weekend.

Even better, Utah Lake State Park can become a base camp to Utah's Wasatch
Front. Nearby Provo Canyon offers highly renowned, Blue Ribbon fishing
alongside tubing, hiking, horseback riding, cycling, mountain biking and all
the summer and winter activities on Sundance Mountain Resort -- not to mention
the resort's incredible art scene and dining. The Utah Valley itself offers an
array of excellent dining and cultural experiences, or continue up Provo

$10/vehicle or $5 for Utah seniors (62 and older). $2 walk-in fee. Fees lower
in winter. Camping $30/night.

Utah Lake State Park

Utah State Park: The Camp Floyd Commissary and Museum were constructed in 1858
by the soldiers of Johnston’s Army. The Commissary Building served as a store
of military equipment and provisions. It was sold to the Beardshall Family at
auction in 1861, when the army was recalled for the Civil War. The building
was relocated to its current site where it was used as the family’s home in
Fairfield. All other camp buildings were either sold, dismantled or destroyed.
Today, the Commissary Building serves as the Camp Floyd museum.

Across the street from the Camp Floyd Commissary is the Stagecoach Inn, a two-
story adobe and frame hotel built by John Carson in 1858. The Stagecoach Inn
was the first stop south of Salt Lake City on the Overland Stage Route and
also a stop on the Pony Express Route. There is also a rentable historic
schoolhouse and a historical cemetery.

Well-prepared visitors interested in the Pony Express can follow the
historical route on an unpaved road into the west desert to another important
stop on the route at Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge, one of the most
remote refuges in the lower 48 states. The nearby Utah Valley offers an array
of local restaurants and cultural attractions. Make a day-use reservation on
