Probably the best spot to stargaze as it’s lower /closer to sea level.
Camp site is well maintained. But I would suggest everyone to carry all the essentials and bug repellents because night time is wild

H1 site might be OK for a campervan or small RV, but not for a tent. Entirely rock, in all directions. Not much level space (none), and driving tent stakes into the rock/gravel was not fun. I managed to clear just enough space for my small tent, and got the stakes driven, but it's right beside the road. No private place out of sight of the road to dig a "cat hole", and impossible to dig one without a hefty pick-and-shovel, or a backhoe--a small camp shovel couldn't dig anything there. Would NOT recommend this site for tent camping.

The site was clean and people have been following the rules. Had a quiet time there hiking and resetting my thoughts. Thanks for the chance to stay there.

Busiest in August, when about 2% of guest capacity is reserved. Based on 8 years of reservations.
