Veterans Lake Pavilion provides a scenic opportunity to rent a space for your

A fishing dock and exercise area are located nearby. These areas may be used
by your party but are also open to the public.

Swim, paddle or fish Veterans Lake, and hike or bike around the lake's loop
trail, called Veterans Trail. This is the only paved trail in the park, which
makes it stroller and roller blade-friendly.  
  
A bison pasture is just up the road, so bring the kids and cameras to see the
beautiful animals grazing.

deciduous forest and the mixed-grass prairie of the west, converge. This
creates unique geological formations and attracts a wide variety of plant and
animal species.

The Travertine Nature Center is worth a visit, as is the collection of springs
nearby. Pavilion Springs, Black Sulphur Springs and Hillside Springs are the
region's remaining natural mineral springs and have historically been used for
medicinal and restorative healing.

<p>Veterans Lake Pavilion provides a scenic opportunity to rent a space for your next outdoor event or celebration. Located in the Platt Historic District, it is approximately 5-7 minutes from the town of Sulphur and is an ideal spot for hosting birthday parties and other gatherings with friends and family. </p>
<p>A fishing dock and exercise area are located nearby. These areas may be used by your party but are also open to the public.</p>

Chickasaw National Recreation Area

Lake of the Arbuckles is forned by Arbuckle Dam which is a feature of the
Arbuckle Project. The lake is located at the confluence of the Buckhorn, Guy
Sandy, and Rock Creeks. The area presents unusual opportunities, combining
recreational use with scenic, scientific, and historic values. The Arbuckle
Mountains are the highest part of a large area of Precambrian granites and
overlying sedimentary strata that were uplifted and deformed some 300 million
years ago. Subsequent erosion has exposed features which make the area an
outstanding laboratory for students of geology.The Lake is one of the best
fishing lakes in Oklahoma for catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, white bass,
and bluegill. There are 36 miles of shoreline and 2,300 acres of open water.
Fishing is permitted year round. The wildlife area is a habitat for turkey,
deer, and small game birds. There are several boat ramps and camping
facilities. The Arbuckle Project regulates flows of Rock Creek, a tributary of
the Washita River in south-central Oklahoma.
