Follow NC-143 for 12 miles to the beginning of the Cherohala Skyway at Santeetlah Gap. **Navigating the Byway:** The Cherohala Skyway's route in North Carolina is a simple one. Take NC 143 west from Stanteetlah Gap (northwest of Robbinsville, NC) through the Nantahala National Forest to the NC-TN border.
