trout are found in the creek and mule deer are common in the area. Sensitive
species here also include bald eagles, yellow-billed cuckoos, prairie falcons,
ferruginous hawks, neotropical migratory bird species, bats, Columbia spotted
frogs and western toads. The cliffs also support spotted and Townsend's big-
eared bats. Access to the area is difficult. This is not a boatable section of
river. Wickahoney is a Shoshone Indian name meaning "beaver."

This picnic area in a shady grove of cottonwoods, is located near the eastern
end of the Owyhee Uplands Backcountry Byway (a.k.a. Mud Flat Road). This is
the only developed recreation spot in this region and includes tables, grills,
fire grates, one vault toilet, shaded areas, and a short trail.
