Great campground! The group site was large and had everything we needed. The surrounding Bandelier monument was gorgeous (do be mindful that though the campsite is dog friendly, the trails within the monument are not).

Conveniently located in Bandelier national park however there is no shade in these campsite. Trees are not very hot and elevation doesn’t help to subside the heat. The bathrooms were not operating at the time of our visit which was one of the reasons we chose these campgrounds.

Restrooms were very clean. Pls install solar shower stalls like those we experienced at Moraine Park Campground at Rocky Mtn Natl Park.

I stayed three nights in June - it was a great home base to experience not only this monument but others in the area, and even Santa Fe, which was a reasonable distance for a day trip. A couple of convenient hiking trailheads are located just outside the campground. The campground itself was clean and very quiet (although mine was mostly a midweek stay). The campground was closed to tenters on my last night due to bear activity. If it has reopened, I assume they trapped and/or dispatched the bear!

Super tidy and clean site. Restroom facilities were great. Added bonus was hot water at station for washing up dishes. Great access to Bandelier. Cold water from taps. Lots of wildlife.
Popularity: Very quiet
Busiest in August, when about 8% of guest capacity is reserved. Based on 11 years of reservations.
