## Overview

Devils Garden Campground is located deep within the heart of beautiful Arches
National Park in Southeastern Utah, at an elevation of approximately 5200 ft..
The campground is situated among natural sandstone arches and fins and is only
18 miles north of the park's entrance and 23 miles from Moab, Utah.

## Recreation

Hiking trails are abundant in Arches, including the Broken Arch Trail, a
scenic loop with a trailhead conveniently located within the campground.
Trails are varied and offer something for everyone, from the easy 0.3-mile
loop around Balanced Rock to the steep and strenuous 3-mile round-trip trail
to Delicate Arch. Other recreational activities in the park include guided
hiking tours of the Fiery Furnace, an off-road vehicle route, road biking and
picnicking.

## Facilities

Devils Garden contains 51 campsites that are available for reservation
(Including the two group sites and one accessibility site), offering visitors
a great opportunity to stay overnight in a unique national park. Roads and
parking spurs are paved, allowing smooth access for all types of travelers. A
campground host is located on-site. Flush toilets and drinking water are
provided, and campsites contain picnic tables and fire rings. The park does
not have dump stations, or electric, water, or sewer hook-ups for RVs. There
are also no showers. Firewood is not for sale at the campground. Please buy a
coupon for firewood at the Visitor Center.

The campground is forested with mixed stands of Utah juniper and pinyon pine.
Flowering prickly pear cacti, yucca and other desert wildflowers dot the
landscape, offering vivid color to the surrounding red rock desert.

The Bar M (Moab Brands) Trail System was selected as a National Recreation
Trail on October 22, 2020. The Bar M Trail System is a cool riding opportunity
just north of Moab, Utah. There are riding options for beginners to experts
all right out of the same trailhead. This is a great spot for families with
varying skill levels or anyone who likes to ride a variety of trails. Also,
there are great views of Arches and the Moab Canyon!

The Bar M Trail System includes approximately 31 miles of mostly singletrack
trail in several loops. There are trails for all abilities from the Lazy EZ
Trails for beginners to the Killer B trails for only the most gonzo! Check out

Bar M Trail System

The WSA is contiguous with a recent addition to Arches National Park. The WSA
surrounds deep canyons which are bordered by colorful Summerville, Entrada and
Navajo sandstone canyon walls. Desert shrub-sagebrush vegetation covers most
of the WSA with the rest being juniper woodland.

Lost Spring Canyon

The Klondike Bluffs trails have been popular for a long time, but in the last
few years a new push in trailbuilding and maintenance from Grand County Trail
Mix, the local BLM and employees from some of the local bike shops has
transformed the area. There is a new sign system with fresh markings on all
the old trails. There have been 7 new trails constructed ranging from tough,
techy and tight singletrack to fast flowing and open singletrack. Check out
some of the major rockwork done on some of the trails!

The Klondike Bluffs Trail System has two sections Klondike North and Klondike
South. The southern section is about 17 miles from Moab and the northern
section is a few miles beyond that. Both have signs. The trails are a mixture
of tough climbs and descents and smooth fast singltrack working along some of
the uplifted rocks in the area. Very fun, especially in cooler weather.

There is no fee to ride the Klondike Bluffs Trails, however the BLM, the USFS,
Grand County Trail Mix and all the local riders would appreciate if you keep

Colorado River, visitors enjoy a sandy beach, boat launch, river viewing
areas, picnic tables, campsites, and group campsites. Adventurers also enjoy
rafting the Moab Daily, a beautiful section of the river that includes several
smaller rapids sections - perfect for all watercraft types.

Within close proximity to national parks and countless trails, outdoor
enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and four-
wheel drive tours in the surrounding area. The town of Moab is approximately
30 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and
museums.

#### Individual Campsites:

Campsites tucked along the "Big Bend" in the Colorado River Canyon. Individual
sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Three group sites are
reservable through Recreation.gov. The campsites can accommodate tents,
trailers and large RVs. many of the sites are located next to the Colorado
River and are surrounded by imposing cliffs. Big Bend has a sandy beach, a
river viewing area and accessible facilities. (Do not enter the river without
the required life jackets; it has dangerous under currents.).

The recreation site includes three group campsites that can accommodate tents,
trailers, and large RVs. Sites A and B are beside the Colorado River. Site C
is across Highway 128 in a side canyon, allowing for privacy and is ideal for
small family gatherings or weddings. Each site includes fire grates, picnic
tables, vault toilets, and shade shelters. The sites do not include potable
water, dump stations, or electric hook ups. All three sites have spectacular
canyon views. Reserve your site through Recreation.gov.

partnership between Grand County and the Bureau of Land Management. In 1995
this area was developed through the collaborative efforts of Americorps, the
Bureau of Land Management, Grand County and the Moab community.

Sand Flats' mission is to protect the natural features of the area from
adverse recreational impacts while providing access to sustainable and
enjoyable recreational opportunities.

smaller and can only accomodate 4 passenger cars, or 1 RV and one truck with
camp trailer. Facilities include shade structures, picnic tables and fire
rings. There are nearby vault toilet facilities. Campers will need to bring
drinking water. If you want to have a campfire, bring or purchase firewood in
town. Wood collecting is prohibited.

This 10.5-mile loop crosses a scenic and rugged expanse of rolling Navajo
Sandstone, the remnant of an ancient desert environment of wind blown sand
dunes. Originally established in 1969 for motorcycles, the trail has become a
popular destination for mountain bikes. The trail is open to both motorcycles
and mountain bikes. Is is closed to all four-wheeled vehicles. For more

" Sand Flats offers a few different types of day use passes. Enter in a
private vehicle and you have the option of purchasing a 1 day pass for $5.00
or a 7 day pass for $10.00. Enter by bicycle, motorcycle or via shuttle and
the cost is $2.00 per day or $5.00 for 7 days. Sand Flats also charges a
vehicle trailer fee of $2.00.

Sand Flats sells an annual pass for $20.00. The pass admits the card-holder
and passengers in a single, private vehicle for day use through the last day
of the month and year indicated on the pass. When entry is by bicycle,
motorcycle or shuttle van, this pass covers card-holder and accompanying
family members. This pass does not cover camping. This pass is non-
transferable and nonrefundable.

Slickrock National Recreation Trail

The Moab Rim Trail is a very tough and popular Jeep trail that is also adored
by hikers. The trail follows the Jeep trail up to a panoramic view of the Moab
Valley, Arches National Park and the usually snowcapped LaSal Mountains. It
can be turned into a loop with the nearby Hidden Valley Trail.

From the parking area, follow the 4-wheel-drive vehicle route up the slickrock
ramps of Kayenta sandstone. After about 1.4 miles, the route reaches a
viewpoint of the Moab Valley. Follow the vehicle route south and then down
through a slickrock area located between two large domes of Navajo sandstone.
At the base of the slickrock area, the route continues along a wash bottom and
then up a large sand hill. From the top of the sand hill, the route branches
twice to the left. The first spur on the left leads to a view point high above
Spanish Valley. The second spur route ends after 200 yards at another view
point. Ahead to the south, the view is dominated by a long ridge of massive
sandstone fins. From the intersection, the main route drops down into a wash
and then climbs in an easterly direction to its terminus just below the pass
to Hidden Valley.

There is no fee for hiking the Moab Rim Trail, however please leave the place
nicer than when you arrived by picking up any little you may find and by
staying precisely on the trail provided. This trail sees a lot of use and
needs some help from you to stay nice! Thank you!

## Overview

Families and large groups will enjoy the three reservable group sites at Big
Bend. Group sites A and B are located within the main campground along the
Colorado River. Group Site C is located across SR 128 and up a small canyon
offering a more secluded location. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking,
mountain biking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and four-wheel drive tours
in the surrounding parks and public lands. The town of Moab is approximately
30 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and
museums.

## Recreation

Big Bend Campground is a great base camp for mountain biking, hiking, rafting,
rock climbing, taking scenic tours, and exploring the area's backcountry
roads. Those looking to relax enjoy sitting under the cottonwoods at the group
site or on the small beach nearby.

## Facilities

The Big Bend group areas have fire rings with grates, picnic tables, vault
toilets, shade shelters, and trash removal. Sites A and B are near the river.
Site C is in a side canyon, allowing for privacy. Water, dump stations and
electricity are not available. **Trailer and RV parking is limited.**
(Multiple trailers and RVs can be accommodated at the Lone Mesa Group Sites
along SR 313.) Please call the Moab Field Office for more information on
vehicle limitations 435-259-2100.

## Natural Features

Big Bend group sites A and B offer shade and access to the Colorado River.
Site C is across SR 128 and in a side canyon with no river access. All three
sites have spectacular canyon views.

## Nearby Attractions

Big Bend is near Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead
Horse Point State Park. The "daily" section of the Colorado River offers half
and full day river activities suitable for the whole family. The Manti-La Sal
National Forest and the La Sal Mountain Loop Road provide cooler explorations
during the hot summer months.

**You may contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance with changes and
cancellations at 435-259-2100.**

**Changes**

You can make changes to a reservation through your online Recreation.gov user
account any time prior to the arrival/first date of the reservation.

  * There is a $10 change fee If you wish to change to dates entirely outside of the original reservation dates.
  * There is no change fee if you wish to extend or shorten the original reservation dates as long as the changes include dates from the original reservation. 
  * There is a $10 change fee if you wish to change to another group site within the Big Bend area. 
  * You cannot make changes to your reservation after the arrival/first day through your Recreation.gov account. However, the BLM Moab Field Office may be able to assist you, 435-259-2100. 
  * For reservations with dates at the end of the available booking window (a.k.a. sliding window), you will not be able to make changes or cancellations until the site has been available to the general public for four days. 

**Cancellations**

Please cancel your reservation if you do not plan to use it. This opens highly
sought-after campsites for others to reserve.

You can cancel your reservation online through your Recreation.gov user
account or through the call center (call center incurs an additional fee). You
may also contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance. A $10 service fee
will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation.

Late Cancellations

A late cancellation occurs less the 14 days before the arrival/first date of
the reservation (a.k.a. cut-off window).

Late cancellations will incur a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first
night's use fee.

**Early Departures**

If you spend at least one night and then leave prior to the scheduled
departure check-out date, please contact the BLM Moab Field Office
(435-259-2100) to open the remaining nights for others to use. You will not be
able to cancel these nights through your Recreation.gov account.

You will be eligible for a partial refund of the nights AFTER you depart that
you did not use. If you depart after the facility check-out time, you will not
be eligible for a refund for that night

**No-Shows**

A No Show occurs if you do not arrive at your campsite or cancel your
reservation by check-out time (Noon) on the day after the scheduled arrival
date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time (Noon) on the day
following the arrival date.

No-shows are assessed a $20.00 Recreation.gov service fee and forfeit the
first night’s recreation fee.

**Refunds**

You can submit a refund request through your Recreation.gov account within 7
days of the departure/end date of your reservation.

  * Applicable fees, such as the Recreation.gov reservation fees, service/cancellation fees, lottery application fees, and change fees, are non-refundable.
  * Refunds cannot be issued to any card other than the one used to pay. 
  * In the event of an emergency closure, all fees will be refunded. Attempts will be made to notify you using the contact information within your Recreation.gov customer profile. 

**Interagency Pass Discounts**

Interagency Pass discounts do not apply to group campsite reservations.

## Overview

**Attention:**

**Campsites 1 - 4 and 7 - 10** are available **first come, first serve only.**
Payments can be made by cash, check, or scan and pay throught the
Recreation.gov mobile app.

**Equestrian Campsites 5 and 6** are available by**reservation only.**
Reservations can be made the day of (based on availability), up to 6 months in
advance from anywhere service is available. This is the only option, cash and
check payments are NOT available for these campsites. Cell service is
available at the campground.

The Courthouse Rock Campground is located near Courthouse Rock approximately
16 miles north of Moab, Utah. The area served as a reliable campsite for Old
Spanish Trail traders. It was a halfway point between two water sources, the
Colorado River and Floy Wash. Other groups, including Native Americans and the
Elk Mountain Mission of 1885, also traveled through and camped here.

The campground is surrounded by an open landscape of blackbrush and sagebrush
hills with large rock formations in the distance. It is comprised of 10
campsites that can accommodate large RVs and trailers. There is no vegetation
or other shade. Be prepared October to March for lows below freezing and from
June to August for highs from 95 to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Campsites 5 and 6 are reservable for equestrian users. Horse corrals, trailer
parking and riding options are available.

The Mill Canyon Dinosaur Track site is a short walk from the campground with
interpretive panels that describe the unique dinosaur tracks that can be seen.
The Mill Canyon Dinosaur Bone Trail is also within close proximity to the
campground. The trail showcases dinosaur bone still encased in rock.

Numerous Off Highway Vehicle and mountain bike trails are also within close
proximity.

## Recreation

The town of Moab is a hub for recreation. Tour operators offer guided hikes,
rentals and evening entertainment. The area abounds with trails, dirt roads
and canyons waiting to be explored.

There are numerous OHV and mountain bike trails in the immediate area as well
as options for equestrian users and hikers.

## Facilities

Each campsite has a gravel parking area for two vehicles (vehicle pulling a
trailer = two vehicles), picnic table, fire ring, and close proximity to a
vault toilet and trash receptacles. Horse corrals are available for equestrian
users.

There is no drinking water or electricity hook ups.

## Natural Features

Paleontologists have found a treasure trove of dinosaur remains in the rock
formations of the Moab area. The record of dinosaurs and other ancient animals
in the Moab area is one of the best in the country. The Mill Canyon Dinosaur
Tracksite is a short walk from the campground and the Mill Canyon Dinosaur
Bone Trail is one mile from the campground.

Courthouse Rock and the Monitor and Merrimac rock formations set the backdrop
for the campground.

## Nearby Attractions

Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and Hovenweep and Natural Bridges
National Monuments are nearby. Also in the area are the Manti-La Sal National
Forest and the La Sal Mountain Loop Road, which provide interesting
exploration opportunities and cooler temperatures during the summer months.

<p>The town of Moab is a hub for recreation. Tour operators offer guided hikes, rentals and evening entertainment. The area abounds with trails, dirt roads and canyons waiting to be explored. </p>

<p>Paleontologists have found a treasure trove of dinosaur remains in the rock formations of the Moab area. The record of dinosaurs and other ancient animals in the Moab area is one of the best in the country.  The Mill Canyon Dinosaur Tracksite is a short walk from the campground and the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Bone Trail is one mile from the campground.   </p>

<p>Courthouse Rock and the Monitor and Merrimac rock formations set the backdrop for the campground.</p>

## Overview

The two sites at Goose Island are ideal for groups wishing to be close to the
town of Moab and Arches National Park. The area offers outdoor enthusiasts
many options for hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and four-wheel
drive tours. The town of Moab is 10 minutes away and has dining, shopping,
sports rentals, tour companies and museums.

## Recreation

From Goose Island Campground, a paved bicycle trail leads to Arches National
Park, the Bar M Mountain Bike Trailhead, the town of Moab, or up State Route
(SR) 128 along the Colorado River. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are
nearby and have many scenic overlooks, hiking trails, and four-wheel drive
roads. The SR 128 river corridor is filled with red rock canyons, hiking and
equestrian trails, river access and activites, and scenic vistas.

National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park are within a half-hour drive.

Stairmaster trail, Moab Rim 4x4 trail, and Moonflower Canyon where you can
visit rock imagery, use the reservable picnic area, and hike the trail up the
canyon. Further down Kane Creek Road you'll find Pritchett Canyon, the Amasa
Back Trailhead, Hunter Canyon, and the Hunter Rim trail. The opportunities for
recreation are endless with mountain biking, hiking, challenging 4x4 trails,
rock climbing, and canyoneering.

The Spring and Fall are the busiest time of year in this area, and are the
best time to stay at Kings Bottom Campground and Group Site. The campground is

Kings Bottom Group Site has a wide tent space for several tents based on tent size. The surface is flattened gravel and sand and is surrounded by tall vegetation.

nearby La Sal Mountains. A dry creek runs along the back of Group Site A

## Overview

The North Klondike Campground is a mountain biker's paradise with campsites
situated a short bike ride away from the North Klondike trail system. You will
also find yourself camped within easy reach of other world renowned Moab
mountain bike trail systems as well as the many other outdoor recreation
opportunities the area has to offer. While relaxing in the evening at your
campsite you will be treated to views of the La Sal mountains and Klondike
Bluffs.

The main campground with non-group campsites is available on a first-come,
first-served basis only. You are required to physically arrive at the
campground to pay for and claim a site. Once on-site, you can pay for your
campsite by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. You will
need to download the free Recreation.gov mobile app on Android or iOS. This is
best done prior to your arrival.

There are two group campsites available for reservation.

Your camping fees pay for campground maintenance and improvements.

## Recreation

The Klondike Bluffs trail system offers 50+ miles of singletrack mountain bike
trails ranging from fast flowy single track to tight and technical riding
opportunities. While mountain biking is the focus of this area, The North
Klondike Campground is within easy reach of Arches and Canyonlands National
Parks as well as hundreds of miles of 4x4, ATV, side-by-side and motorcycle
trails.

## Facilities

There are 25 individual campsites at the North Klondike Campground. Each
campsite has a gravel parking pad for two vehicles (vehicle pulling a trailer
= two vehicles), picnic table, fire ring, and close proximity to a vault
toilet and trash receptacle.

There are two group campsites. Each campsite has a gravel parking pad for up
to six vehicles, fire ring, BBQ grill, picnic tables, shade shelter and close
proximity to vault toilets and trash recepacles. Site A is on the left and
Site B is on the right as you enter.

There is no drinking water or electricity hook ups at this campground.

During Spring and Fall a campground host may be stationed at this campground.
Campground hosts assist visitors with acquiring a campsite, trip planning, and
campground etiquette education.

nearby equestrian trails. The campground offers striking views of the Colorado
River canyon and the surrounding red rock cliffs, mesas and spires, with the
La Sal Mountains as a dramatic back-drop. There is direct access to the Onion
Creek four-wheel drive road (watch for seasonal rains and flash floods). The
town of Moab is approximately 40 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports
rentals, tour companies and museums.

## Recreation

Group Site A is designed for guests with horses and has a horse corral and
nearby equestrian trails. Access to Onion Creek four-wheel drive road is
adjacent to the campground and is popular for motorized and horse travel. The
road has 27 wash crossings (be careful of seasonal rain and flooding hazards).
Within close proximity to national parks and open space, outdoor enthusiasts
will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and four-wheel drive
tours in the surrounding area.

The town of Moab is approximately 40 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and museums.<h2>Recreation</h2>
<p>Group Site A is designed for guests with horses and has a horse corral and nearby equestrian trails. Access to Onion Creek four-wheel drive road is adjacent to the campground and is popular for motorized and horse travel. The road has 27 wash crossings (be careful of seasonal rain and flooding hazards). Within close proximity to national parks and open space, outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and four-wheel drive tours in the surrounding area.</p><h2>Facilities</h2>
Group sites have fire grates, picnic tables, vault toilets and shade shelters.  Group Site A has a horse corral. The group sites do not have water, dump stations or electric hook-ups.<h2>Natural Features</h2>
<p>Upper Onion Creek Campground is located along State Route 128. The views from the campground are spectacular and include Fisher Towers, Castle Valley and the Colorado River Canyon. The La Sal Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to the red rock cliffs, spires and mesas.</p>
<h2>Nearby Attractions</h2>
<p>There are many hiking trails and viewpoints along State Route 128. The Fisher Towers area offers hiking, rock climbing and scenic vistas. There are boat launches at nearby Lower Onion Creek and Hittle Bottom Campgrounds. Upper Onion Creek Campground is about 40 minutes from Arches National Park and 55 minutes from Canyonlands National Park.</p><h2>Charges & Cancellations</h2>

<p><strong>Changes</strong></p>
<p>You can make changes to a reservation through your online Recreation.gov user account any time prior to the arrival/first date of the reservation.</p>
<ul>
<li>There is a $10 change fee If you wish to change to dates entirely outside of the original reservation dates.</li>
<li>There is no change fee if you wish to extend or shorten the original reservation dates as long as the changes include dates from the original reservation.  </li>
<li>There is a $10 change fee if you wish to change to another group site within the Upper Onion Creek area.  </li>
<li>You cannot make changes to your reservation after the arrival/first day through your Recreation.gov account.  However, the BLM Moab Field Office may be able to assist you, 435-259-2100.   </li>
<li>For reservations with dates at the end of the available booking window (a.k.a. sliding window), you will not be able to make changes or cancellations until the site has been available to the general public for four days.   </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Cancellations</strong></p>
<p>Please cancel your reservation if you do not plan to use it.  This opens highly sought-after campsites for others to reserve.  </p>
<p>You can cancel your reservation online through your Recreation.gov user account or through the call center the (call center incurs an additional fee). You may also contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation.   </p>
<p>Late Cancellations </p>
<p>A late cancellation occurs less the 14 days before the arrival/first date of the reservation (a.k.a. cut-off window).</p>
<p>Late cancellations will incur a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee.  </p>
<p><strong>Early Departures</strong></p>
<p>If you spend at least one night and then leave prior to the scheduled departure check-out date, please contact the BLM Moab Field Office (435-259-2100) to open the remaining nights for others to use.  You will not be able to cancel these nights through your Recreation.gov account.</p>
<p>You will be eligible for a partial refund of the nights AFTER you depart that you did not use.  If you depart after the facility check-out time, you will not be eligible for a refund for that night  </p>
<p><strong>No-Shows</strong></p>
<p>A No Show occurs if you do not arrive at your campsite or cancel your reservation by check-out time (Noon) on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time (Noon) on the day following the arrival date. </p>
<p>No-shows are assessed a $20.00 Recreation.gov service fee and forfeit the first night’s recreation fee.  </p>
<p><strong>Refunds</strong></p>
<p>You can submit a refund request through your Recreation.gov account within 7 days of the departure/end date of your reservation.</p>

<li>Applicable fees, such as the Recreation.gov reservation fees, service/cancellation fees, lottery application fees, and change fees, are non-refundable.</li>

The Portal Trail is the sister trail to the Moab Rim Trail which is just
across the Colorado River. It is a hiking and biking only trail that follows a
slickrock bench up from the Colorado River to an expansive view of the Moab
Valley and the surrounding landscape. Most bikers only come down this trail
which is an alternate and very difficult exit for the Magnificent Seven Trail
System. There is a short section of the trail near the top which is very
narrow and exposed. Bikers must dismount and walk this section as 3 cyclists
have lost their lives here. Not for the faint of heart!

From JayCee Park, follow the hiking trail up the Colorado towards the river
""portal."" Please register at the visitor box. From the visitor box, the
trail begins its climb to the viewpoint. After several switchbacks, the trail
follows a cairned route up ""ramps"" of Kayenta sandstone to the overlook. Be
cautious around the overlook as there are no safety fences. This trail is
frequently used by mountain bike riders.

There is no fee for hiking the Portal Trail, however please leave the place
nicer than when you arrived by picking up any little you may find and by
staying precisely on the trail provided. This trail sees a lot of use and

The Magnificent Seven Trail System (Mag 7) is a very popular new trail system
just north of Moab. The system of trails run back and forth along the unique
and popular Gemini Bridges Road. Bikers run all sorts of trips on these trails
from small to large loops, to downhill epics that link up the Gemini Road and
the Moab Canyon Paved Bike Path or the Golden Spike Trail and the Portal Trail
all the way into Moab! Truely fun riding and truely great views of Bull
Canyon, Gemini Bridges and the LaSal Mountains!

The Mag 7 Trail System includes approximately 45 miles of marked trail most of
which is singletrack. There are several loops that are possible and several

The Jewell Tibbets Arch Trail offers spectacular views across Hell Roaring
Canyon to a large natural arch. Close to several BLM campgrounds, and to
Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park.

From the parking lot, the trail passes through a fence and follows a dirt road
for about 0.1 miles. The trail leaves the road and goes down several dry
washes until it rejoins an old road (closed to vehicles). After a short
distance, the trail leaves the old road, and follows a series of rock cairns
to near the edge of the 400 foot deep Hell Roaring Canyon. After a short
distance, the trail follows a short spur onto a slickrock platform, from which
spectacular views of the arch and the canyon below can be had. The trail
returns to the parking lot across a blackbrush mesa, where it rejoins the
road.

The arch is named after Jewel Tibbetts, a Moab resident who lived about 10
miles distance at the Horsethief Ranch in the 1950’s and 1960's with her
husband Bill. They often took ranch visitors to see the arch.

There is no fee for hiking the Jewell Tibbets Arch Trail, however please leave
the place nicer than when you arrived by picking up any litter you may find
and by staying precisely on the trail provided. This trail sees a lot of use
and needs some help from you to stay nice! Thank you!
