After a fun filled day exploring the area, relax and fall asleep to the sound
of the babbling Lost Creek at this secluded and quiet Group site that's made
up of 12 sites. Towering Douglas fir and cedar trees surround this small,
rustic and compact campground. The campground’s name was derived from "Girl of
the Limberlost," a classic novel by American writer and naturalist, Gene
Stratton-Porter. The campground offers vault toilets and garbage service. Each
campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table. There is no drinking water
available at the campground. Firewood is available at Olallie Campground.

Hikers, swimmers, and anglers alike will delight with nearby Three Sisters
Wilderness Area, Mt. Washington Wilderness, and Lost Creek. Those interested
in relaxing will enjoy a soak in nearby Belknap Hot Springs. If you have an
interest in biking, several trails outside of the Wilderness areas are

National Forest. Built in 1958, the lookout was used for firefighting by

is rocky. Guests must be prepared to climb steep, narrow steps up the 30-foot
tower to access the lookout's cabin. The accommodations are primitive, so
guests should be prepared to pack in most of their own supplies and gear.

guests can enjoy spectacular night skies and star gazing. An unmaintained
trail on the ridge meanders through alpine trees and beargrass, allowing

All of the shelters are facing the river and no tents or trailers are allowed.
This group site also includes a covered dining hall with cooking area,

is located near the volleyball court. The campground has one accessible double
vault toilet and one handpump well to provide potable water. Parking is

and 1 double vault. Drinking water is provided from two hand pump wells.

accessible. The trail follows 0.3 miles of the Sough Santiam River and
accesses an ADA fishing platform.

Camping groups looking for a more rustic riverside experience will enjoy Red
Diamond in Willamette National Forest. The campground can accommodate up to 25
guests and provides plenty of shade for warm, summer days. The South Fork
McKenzie River and many fishing holes can be accessed from the site. Hiking
trails can be found in the surrounding area and the Cougar Reservoir is just a
short drive north.

Canyon Trail with excellent opportunities for mountain biking, hiking and

the midsection of the Cascade Range in western Oregon. The South Fork of the
McKenzie flows nearby. The McKenzie River is a tributary of the Willamette
River that runs for 90 miles, flowing into the southernmost end of the
Willamette Valley. The Willamette National Forest stretches for 110 miles with
varied landscapes of high mountains, narrow canyons, cascading streams and
wooded slopes.
