Mill Creek (Missouri)

Overview

Mill Creek is a spacious and sunny campground on the White River Arm of Table Rock Lake in the Missouri countryside.

Many campsites within this park are located adjacent to the waters edge, with the remaining campsites only a short walk from the water with some of the best views on the lake.

Recreation

Whether on water or land, Mill Creek Campground offers visitors countless recreational activities. Picnicking, swimming, scuba diving, boating, fishing, hunting, hiking and wildlife viewing are all popular pastimes at the park. While the lake boasts an abundance of crappie, catfish, and bluegill, Table Rock is most famous for bass, and is acclaimed as one of the best bass fishing lakes in this hemisphere. Table Rock Lakeshore Trail, about 2 miles long, runs from the Dewey Short Visitor Center to the Table Rock State Park Marina. During the spring hikers will see dogwood, serviceberry and redbud trees in bloom as well as many wildflower species. During the autumn months, visitors are treated to nature's colorful fall foliage. The trail also offers beautiful views of Table Rock Lake. Other hiking and mountain biking opportunities are available at the Mark Twain National Forest, parts of which are easily accessible from the campground. Click here for more information. A boat ramp, swimming beach, basketball court and volleyball court are provided. The campground is surrounded by water on three sides, providing visitors with convenient access to the lake.

Facilities

Mill Creek Campground offers 67 reservable campsites, along with one large reservable group picnic shelter. Amenities like hot showers, drinking water, a dump station and electric hookups create a comfortable camping experience.

A beach, boat ramp, playground, basketball and volleyball court make the campground perfect for family trips.

Natural Features

Table Rock Lake is a beautiful body of water surrounded by a forest of oak and hickory trees. Its waters wind down through the valleys and hollows of the Ozark Mountains, from Branson, Missouri to Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

More than five million visitors per year take advantage of this recreational oasis. Originally built for flood control, the Table Rock Dam has created a lake that boasts 779 miles of shoreline for the public to enjoy.

Nearby Attractions

The Dewey Short Visitors Center is located at the south end of Table Rock Dam. It offers three educational films focused on the history of the dam, the story of Lewis and Clark and the history of eagles and their endangerment in the state of Missouri. The visitor center also contains exhibits about the natural history of the area. Mill Creek Campground is about 18 miles from Branson, Missouri, which offers grocery stores, gas and additional tourist attractions.

We have always loved camping at Mill Creek Mo. This last visit we were very disappointed in how the grounds have not been kept up. The weeds in the grassy areas were 2 feet tall and the whole park looked run down. We left before our friends and they reported to us that while the grounds were eventually mowed it looked like a hay field waiting to be bailed. Not sure what is going on with the current crew but it is sad to see such a beautiful park in its current state. Camp hosts and cleaning crew are awesome!!

I was very disappointed this time around when we got to Mill Creek. We bring about 8-10 campers/+tents every yr. and we were saddened to see that the grass had not been mowed in a while & no one mowed it in the 6 days we were there. I am on several camping pages on Facebook and when someone asks where they should stay on Table Rock, I have always said Mill Creek because they take care of the grounds really well. Our sites were 64, 65, 23, 24, 27, 28, 26, 31, and 54 and we often use the grass around 26 to play games and such because as you can see, we have around 45 people that come every year. We could not use that space this year. While we did have a good time it was very sad that we could not do what we usually do every year. I do realize that there has been a lot of rain there but there was none to very little sprinkle while we were there. We love Mill Creek and we hope that next year it is mowed better. there were weeds that were up to my knees. It would also be nice to put soap in the bathrooms as it is gross and unsanitary not to be able to sanitize your hands after using the facilities.

Excellent campground. All the sites are close enough to see the lake. Tim and Karen are the best hosts we have ever encountered at a COE campground. We will be back.

Great campsite that was clean and well-maintained (could have been mowed). Playground could use some care as well. Bathrooms and showers were very well, but the lights came on too late so our showers were in the dark.

The Mill Creek campground on Table Rock Lake Missouri is a lovely park. Our site was very shady and the whole campground was well-kept and clean. Our site was very level, and it appeared the sites around us were level, too. The lake view was beautiful and offered stunning sunset views. The bathroom was clean. We chose this campground because we were looking for a central place to visit Dogwood Canyon, Top of the Rock, Springfield, and Branson. It did not disappoint! We were able to easily access each place and enjoyed scenic drives to and from our destinations. We would definitely return if we needed a place to camp in this vicinity again.

the corp needs to hire a new mowing crew. Mill creek is a beautiful park but the mowing crew is not doing a good job. there are places that have not been mowed or trimmed all year. a shame to see the park look this way.

Park staff did a great job after a party trashed the pavilion and the bathrooms. Facilities are kept clean and stocked. Showers are split male and female with no family showers on site so not great for families with small kids if you are tent camping. Greater area and lots of shade in most of the park.
