Orleans Trail
Overview
Orleans Trail Campground is a shady campground located on Stockton Lake in the scenic Ozark Mountains of southwestern Missouri. The lake and surrounding landscape offer countless recreational opportunities along its nearly 300 miles of shoreline, providing visitors with many ways to explore one of the most sought-after natural areas in the state.Recreation
Boating is always a popular pastime at the lake. Sail boating is especially popular and the lake hosts several races each year. The facility provides a boat ramp for easy access to the water.The waters of Stockton Lake are home to several species of fish including small and largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, walleye, catfish and sunfish, making it an ideal area for anglers.
Several trails wind around the lake shore and through the landscape. The Stockton Lake Equestrian Trail continues approximately 15 miles between Hawker Point and Orleans Trail Campgrounds.
Facilities
Orleans Trail Park offers 118 campsites, three shower houses, two dump stations, a boat ramp and a swimming beach.The campground is divided into north and south: non-electric sites, the showers and beach are in Orleans Trail North; and non-electric individual sites and the group camping area are in Orleans Trail South. An equestrian trailhead where horses can be kept is located in the south portion.
Natural Features
The land surrounding the lake contains hundreds of acres of native prairie grasses, rolling hills and thick forests that turn crimson in autumn. An abundance of wildlife lives both in and around the water, including wild turkey, great blue heron, deer and bald eagles. Visitors can learn about the lake's bald eagles by attending an annual eagle-watching event during the winter.Nearby Attractions

Directions
From Stockton, Missouri, take State Highway 39 south approximately 1/2-mile to
R.B. Road. Take a left and drive approximately 1/2-mile. Turn right on Blake
Street, continue about 1/2-mile, and follow signs to the park area.
Stay Limit
Check in from 4 PM, check out by 4 PM.

was a nice place to camp very peaceful fire pit at my site had not been cleaned out looked like for months , the swim beach picnic table area was just covered with trash.

It's been a couple years since we've been to New Orleans Trail sites. We usted to visit quite often for a week or more. This time we noticed the sites are not maintained as in the past, bathrooms not kept up, no toilet paper, honestly very disappointed. We love coming to Stockton Lake and had Sites for August and September but cancelled. We hope for the future things will be better maintained.

The campsites in the B Loop are quite spacious and the campground has plenty of trees. My suggestions are to repair the worn out and to add another sewer dump station.

Pretty good location with plenty of shade. It's close to the lake with a walking trail down to it. Close to the beach. However, this particular camping spot needs some attention. Things have washed out some over time. The fire pit and table need to be leveled out, maybe some fresh gravel added. There were several dead trees and branches with some larger branches hanging over the site that we found concerning. Lots of ticks to deal with. Some of the other sites close by looked like they had recently been cleaned up. So maybe this one will be next.

Campground is beautiful, it's our favorite group site. BEWARE of raccoons, they got in our trash , they also made off with 2 corn hole bags!

The place is very nice. The pads are level and far apart. This trip the water was posted as Non-potable which we a little inconvenient. This was a first. The young man cutting the weeds was very courteous and aimed the discharge away from our pads.

The only complaint that I have is if you stay in A or B loop .. the fee booth is too far away..

We stayed in the D loop at site D37. All of the sites in the D loop are more spaced out and wooded than in the other loops. They also don't have electric and the bathroom is a vault toilet. Site D37 was able to fit our two tents comfortably but I don't think there was a flat space to fit a third. It was also pretty overgrown and unkept. So bring lots of bug spray. Site D39 is pretty close and it would work well for a group needing multiple spots. We had a view of the lake across the road. The bathroom was a several minute walk. Site D37 across from us had water access and looked really nice. Other nearby spots D40 was also quite heavily wooded and didn't look like it had much more than one semi-flat spot for a tent. But it was definitely very private! We used the shower houses (which we had to drive to get to) and they were okay. The water wouldn't get hot, but we didn't take ice cold showers. The swim beach was the highlight of this location and very nice!

Bathrooms were not cleaned and no toilet paper, have photos how do I send them? Everyone was walking to the bathroom carrying toilet paper. They were standing in water and molding.

This spot is one of the best electric sites we have stayed at. It’s flat and partly shaded. Easy access and the area is very peaceful. We really enjoy being close to the beach.

Firstly, this is a campground and looo we’ve been camping at for 20 years now. We’ve always loved it. This last stay though was not enjoyable. We ended up having a neighbor with a camper and industrial size generator that was extremely loud. This thing ran all day and all night long. It was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other talk. Couldn’t sleep either. As it’s supposed to be a primitive loop quiet time is 10pm and generators are supposed to be prohibited after 10pm. As the attendants were never once seen driving around checking on things we ended up having to call the sheriff to deal with it. We hated being those people. Bathrooms were never attended to and the shower houses were nothing less than disgusting. Sadly I don’t think we’ll be returning as we felt we were camping amongst unsupervised drunken toddlers. Our last morning we woke up to our other neighbors screaming profanities at one another. The marina all the way across the lake heard this and ended up calling the law. Still never once seen the attendants.

The site was clean and level. The concrete picnic table, the benches should be out more. They are uncomfortable to sit at. That's OK we use to hold the coleman stoves. Also as a swimsuit drying rack. We have T Mobile, the service is decent. On this last trip, the vault toilet smelled better than any been in. I do wish the sites could be cnverted to have water at the site.

Update your shower houses
The concrete structures are so hot by afternoon you can barely stay in there 10 minutes
The only nice thing about it, your hot water is always cold . Spending the week in Arkansas camping you should come down here and try to learn something. Cameras would also be nice to try to cut down on the homeless people using the showers.

The pads are very level and far apart. Being a small site keeps the traffic and noise to a minimal. Access to the water is non-existence which keeps the availability easy.

I like the space between campsites on the A loop. The water is close by. I do wisth there was a shower house on the A loop. We have T-Mobile, good coverage. The sites are big and leval. The concrete picnic tables are not a good design for sitting at. We use it as a cooking table. The camp hosts are nice. We see the camp host, rangers, sheriff patrol often. We have never felt in danger here.

Love pad #15! However, it could use a little more gravel towards the front of the pad. There is a big dirt area that when it rains, it gets very muddy! If they could just put some gravel over that area, it would be great! (I think the picnic table is sitting there now but could have been moved since we were there). The only disadvantage, a couple of them, is there is no place to pull up a boat to shore and no way to get down to the lake if you just want to swim. If there was a pathway down to the water in one of the less steep areas, it would be doable for us older folks to get to the water. Thank you for your consideration.

This is a great park with a perfect little beach area. My site was level and close to the bathrooms. I had a beautiful view of the lake. There are many trees to shade the sites. I was in loop B, so I did need to take a short drive to the beach, but well worth it. I was here during the week and it was very peaceful and the beach had maybe 25 people the entire time I was there.

We kayaked the beautiful lake. Great day on the water. We did not fish, but others were catching a variety of fish. Nice boat ramp. Campground was nice. Bathrooms were clean. My only complaint was the shower drain was very slow to drain. We stayed in site B02 North. Nice spacious site and close to the lake.

The site was easy to get into/out of and it was very large. The area was peaceful and beautiful. Don't expect a lot of internet service. Bathrooms were close by and fairly clean, bring your own soap. I look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Love Stockton and Orleans Trail. The only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is because 2 of the 4 shower houses were out of of service on the Saturday of a busy holiday weekend and never fixed. This was hard on everyone since both A and B loop and use this shower which is in an electric only campground. Many people dint have a way to haul water etc needed to take showers in their own camper.

We had a great time on our camping trip. The camp host was great and the bathroom facilities was always freshly cleaned every time we used it. We caught fish and relaxed which was exactly what we were after.

The campground is well kept, restrooms very clean. All of the people we delt with were great. My only complaint is the dump station is just a mud hole, a little gravel would help .
