The Forest Service operates the Union East Campground and charges the
following fees: New campsite fee prices, 2024 & 2025 $25 per night and fee

(Lake Alpine) Silver Valley Campground

The Black Springs OHV network on the north side of Highway 4 is the main Off-
Highway Vehicle riding area on the Calaveras Ranger District. With over 100
miles of connecting roads and trails, there is enjoyable riding for all levels
and types of users, including four-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicles, and
motorcycles.

The trail network is generally accessible to Off-Highway Vehicles from early
summer to fall; during the winter months, portions of the network are
available for use by Over-Snow Vehicles. A map showing recommended routes is
available upon request from the Ranger District Office.

Niagara Creek Campground situated in a mixed conifer forest. It is located on
Forest Road 5N01. Turn right off of Highway 108 at Eagle Meadow Road (5N01),
about 15 miles from the Summit Ranger Station. There are 10 sites; each site
has a table and a fire ring. The main road and parking pads are dirt-surfaced.
Potable water is not available. Toilets are vault-style. Fee charged for extra
vehicle parking.

Station on Highway 108. There are a total of 20 camping sites; one is a double
site and two are walk-in sites. The main road is paved with dirt-surfaced
parking pads. Restrooms are vault toilets. Water is piped; each hydrant serves
several sites. A fee is charged for extra vehicle parking. There is no
designated trail down to the river.

Dodge Ridge Corporation operates Boulder Flat Campground and charges the
following fees: Cash only.

  * $25.00 for a single-family site
  * $50.00 for a double-family site

The Interagency Senior and Interagency Access Passes are honored and provide a
50 percent discount on camping fees in the campground.  Pass number must be
written on fee envelope or Pass must be shown to Host. The Interagency Annual
and Volunteer passes do not provide any discounts on camping. Dodge Ridge
Corporation operates this campground under a special use permit administered
by the Forest Service. The fees paid by concessionaires finance the
refurbishment of facilities in the campgrounds they operate.

Boulder Flat Campground

beautiful aspens. It is located on Highway 108, about 14 miles from the Summit
Ranger Station. There are 17 sites; each site has a table and a fire ring. The
