Directions
From Clovis, take Highway 168 east to Shaver Lake. Continue through Shaver Lake to Huntington Lake. At the east end of Huntington Lake, turn right on the Kaiser Pass Road (at Eastwood Visitor Center). Travel 17 miles to the Edison Lake Road. Turn left toward Edison Lake and travel 7 miles to the campground.

Check in from 2 PM, check out by 12 PM.

Campgrounds were nice. Lots of yellow jackets and lake was almost 3 football fields away. It was great for swimming if you are up for a walk.

Hate to write a review because then too many people will go!! LOL we LOVE camping here every summer, it is the perfect place to get away from everyone!! END OF THE ROAD is the only place to be! Can't backpack anymore because of my knees, this is the perfect solution, in the backcountry without the hiking. LOVE LOVE LOVE it here, the camp host is just the best of the best, everyone is so nice and friendly here. There is bear activity, so you have to be smart with your camp cleanliness and food storage.

We stayed at the very end of the campground. Generous site spots, very convenient pit toilets, very convenient water. Lake view and a walk down a small hill to get to the lake. Only one other camper during the weekday. Easy walk over to Vermillion Valley Resort (or drive) which offers breakfast, lunch and dinners--check serving times; has items for sale that you might have left (lighter, razor, firewood, beer, smore makings).
The mono Creek trailhead is just around the bend. If I had known that the Mono Creek trailhead had camping for permit holders for the day before, I would have likely just gone there, though the there was an issue with the toilets there (no TP or were out of order) the day we started our hike. It also has a lake view, but is further up so just a little longer walk down to the lake and to VVR.

Very nice area and beautiful stars at night. No cell connection. Showers at $8 for 8 minutes.
