south. Visitors enjoy fishing, tubing and exploring local trails.

to 40 people. Also Wood River Campground has 30 single campsites for RV's and
tenting which are available for use on a first-come first served basis.

electricity and wooden benches is just a short walk from the site. Roads and
parking spurs are paved, but the site surface is dirt.

This dispersed campground area is north of Caribou developed campground on the
left side of North Fork road. It is situated alongside the North Fork of the
Big Wood River.

Cougar Dispersed Camping Area

Boundary Campground is a developed, fee, non-reservation campground composed
of 9 campsites located on Trail Creek approximately 2 miles northeast of the
Sun Valley Resort Village. The 4-unit Boundary Picnic Area is adjacent to the
campground and shares a vault toilet and hand pump for drinking water with it.
The campground and picnic area are open the Friday before Memorial Day to
September 30 annually. Amenities include drinking water from a hand pump; 2
vault toilets; refuse service; and a fire ring, grill stand, and picnic table
in each site. Campsites also have a designated location to pitch a tent. Camp
and picnic sites have hardened aprons allowing wheelchair access. Access roads
and parking spurs are gravel. Toilets are ADA-accessible. Dogs must be leashed
in the campground and picnic area, and their solid waste picked up and
disposed of properly. Stock is not permitted. Campsites 1 and 7 are double
units. Stay limit is 3 days and check-out time is 2:00 pm. The campground and
picnic area are mostly open with large cottonwood trees providing intermittent
shade. The campground has beautiful views of Bald Mountain Ski Area to the
west.

CHEMEKETAN CAMPGROUND

Chemeketan Campground

Deer Creek Trailhead provides access to Deer Creek Tr. No. 158 and Kinsey
Creek Tr. No. 319. The trailhead is located at the end of Deer Creek Rd. No.
097, and features a vault toilet and interpretive sign. The site is lightly
used but provides access to one of the only <50" OHV trails on the Ketchum
Ranger District.

<p>Deer Creek Trailhead provides access to Deer Creek Tr. No. 158 and Kinsey Creek Tr. No. 319. The trailhead is located at the end of Deer Creek Rd. Canyon Campground is a non-reservation campground composed of 7 single units
and 3 group sites on Big Smoky Creek. Campground amenities include picnic
tables, fire rings, drinking water, restrooms, horse corrals and a stock
loading station. The Big Smoky Trail #072 begins at the north end of the
campground and leads to Skillern Hot Springs. Big Smoky trail is open to non-
motorized travel and motorcycles. Numerous trails split off of the main Big
Smoky Trail, some of them are only open to non-motorized travel. Please be
sure to pick up a Motor Vehicle Use Map from the local Ranger Station.

<p>Canyon Campground is a non-reservation campground composed of 7 single units and&nbsp;3 group sites on Big Smoky Creek. Campground amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, restrooms, horse corrals&nbsp;and a stock loading station.&nbsp;The Big Smoky Trail #072 begins at the&nbsp;north end of the campground and&nbsp;leads to Skillern Hot Springs. Big Smoky trail is open to non-motorized travel and motorcycles. Numerous trails split off of the main Big Smoky Trail, some of them are only open to non-motorized travel. Please be sure to&nbsp;pick up&nbsp;a Motor Vehicle Use Map from the local Ranger Station.</p>

Fees will be charged from mid-May through October 31st. $6.00 per night fee
for single sites, $12.00 per night for double sites.

Canyon Transfer Camp

Bear Creek Transfer Camp is located 32 miles north of Fairfield.  Travel over
Fleck Summit on Road No. 012.  Once at the summer home area, turn onto Road
No. 079 and continue north past the Methodist Church Camp then turn left on to
Road No. 889 and look for the entrance sign.  The transfer camp offers 6
campsites with picnic tables and fire rings along with corrals and mangers
with loading ramps and stock water available 150 yards to the north at Bear
Creek. There is one vault toilet restroom available.

Creek Trail (#087) starts just south of the campground and is open to
motorcycles.

<p>Bowns Campground, located 25 miles east of Featherville and 18 miles north of Fairfield, is a developed campground composed of 10 units along Big Smoky Creek. Two of the camp sites are double family units.  Camping, fishing, hiking, and picnicking are popular activities. Campground amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water (seasonally) and restrooms. Miller Creek Trail (#087) starts just south of the campground and is open to motorcycles.</p>

sites and 2 double-sites on the east side of beautiful Alturas Lake. It is

the west, Smoky Mountains to the south and the Hemingway-Boulder Mountains to
the east. Fishing is terrific in Alturas lake along with swimming, kayaking
and canoeing. Capturing the scenic beauty, plants and wildlife through
photography is ideal at this unique location. It includes flush toilets,
potable water, trash pick-up and fire rings. There is access to Alturas Lake
Creek trail head towards Eureka Gulch, Jakes Gulch, Cabin Creek trail and
Alpine Creek trail to the north.

activities abound. Alturas Lake offers excellent boating, water skiing,
canoeing, kayaking and fishing for bull trout and Kokanee salmon. Alturas
Creek runs through the adjacent campground.  
  
The 10-mile round trip Alpine Meadows Trail begins nearby, with spectacular
canyon, meadow and alpine lake views. The trail is also a popular area for
bird watching.

The picnic site is a day-use area only. It offers one accessible group site
that can accommodate up to 50 people. Vault toilets, drinking water and
garbage service are provided. Smokey Bear Boat Ramp is less than 1/4-mile
away.

Summer wildflowers are plentiful, and a mixed-growth conifer forest provides
partial shade. Temperatures are cool with an average summer high of 78 degrees
and a low of 40 degrees.

near Five Points Creek 17 miles north of Fairfield over Couch Summit. The
newly renovated campground offers restrooms and is close to the popular
Worswick hot springs. Potable water is not available at this campground.
