This family campground has 19 single-family campsites. All sites are first-
come-first-serve basis (no reservations). Holcomb Valley campground is located
approximately 5 miles north of Big Bear Lake off Forest Service Road 3N16.
Although this campground is open year round, vehicle access will be based on
road conditions. Please contact the Big Bear Discovery Center for current road
conditions.

Each family campsite accommodates a maximum of 8 people. Amenities include a
picnic table, 1 fire ring, bear boxes and vault toilets. There is no water
available. A campground host is on site during mid May through October.

## Overview

Juniper Springs Group Campground is a primitive facility located about 10
miles from Big Bear Lake, a scenic, year-round recreation destination. The
camp offers a great location from which to explore the mountains of Southern
California.

## Recreation

Visitors enjoy hiking and mountain biking from a variety of trailheads that
can be accessed near the campground. Off-road vehicle use is popular as well.
Nearby Cactus Flats contains approximately 68 miles of off-road vehicle
trails. A picnic area is also available at Cactus Flats.  
  
Fishing and boating are popular activities at nearby Big Bear Lake. Anglers
can look forward to a catch of trout, bluegill, crappie, catfish and
largemouth bass, among other species. Because of the very cold water and the
presence of underwater obstacles near the shorelines, swimming at the lake is
discouraged.

## Facilities

The campground offers a large group site for tent camping. It can accommodate
up to 40 people and eight vehicles. Standard SUVs or vehicles with four-wheel
drive and/or higher clearance are required to access the campground.

Big Bear Lake. Showers are available at Serrano Campground, 15 miles from
Juniper Springs. San Bernardino is about 50 miles away.

<h2>Overview</h2>
Juniper Springs Group Campground is a primitive facility located about 10 miles from Big Bear Lake, a scenic, year-round recreation destination. The camp offers a great location from which to explore the mountains of Southern California.<h2>Recreation</h2>
Visitors enjoy hiking and mountain biking from a variety of trailheads that can be accessed near the campground. Off-road vehicle use is popular as well. Nearby Cactus Flats contains approximately 68 miles of off-road vehicle trails. A picnic area is also available at Cactus Flats.
 
Fishing and boating are popular activities at nearby Big Bear Lake. Anglers can look forward to a catch of trout, bluegill, crappie, catfish and largemouth bass, among other species. Because of the very cold water and the presence of underwater obstacles near the shorelines, swimming at the lake is discouraged.<h2>Facilities</h2>
The campground offers a large group site for tent camping. It can accommodate up to 40 people and eight vehicles. Standard SUVs or vehicles with four-wheel drive and/or higher clearance are required to access the campground. The site is equipped with picnic tables and a campfire circle. A large grill is also available. Vault toilets are provided. Trash collection and drinking water are not available.
<h2>Natural Features</h2>
The campground is located in the San Bernardino Mountains at an elevation of 7,739 feet, where ponderosa pines dot the site. A pinyon pine and juniper woodland and meadow surround the area and a small pond is on-site.

A grocery store, general store and restaurants can be found 11 miles away in Big Bear Lake. Showers are available at Serrano Campground, 15 miles from Juniper Springs. San Bernardino is about 50 miles away. <h2>Charges & Cancellations</h2>

For most locations, you can reserve six months in advance of your stay for individual sites and 12 months in advance for group sites. There are some exceptions, so it is best to check with each facility. 
Change and Cancellation Policies and Fees
Overnight and Day Use Facilities: To ensure fairness, reservation arrival or departure dates may not be changed beyond the booking window until 18 days after booking the reservation. 
Camping / Day Use: A $10.00 service fee will apply if you change or cancel your reservation (including campsites, cabins, lookouts, group facilities, etc.). The $10.00 service fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

Group Facility: If a customer cancels a group overnight facility reservation within 14 days of the scheduled arrival date they will be charged the $10.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's use fee. Cancellations for a single night's use will not be assessed a service fee.

No-Shows

Refunds for Bankcard Purchases: Refunds for bank card payments will be issued as a credit to the original bank card.
Refunds for Check or Cash Purchases: Refunds for Recreation.gov payments made by check or money order, and cash payments at selected campgrounds will be issued a check refund. A refund will be processed within 30 days of receipt and approval. Please Note: Refund requests made during or after departure can only be processed when approved by the facility management staff based upon local policy.
Refunds for Emergency Closures: In the event of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team will attempt to notify users and offer alternate dates (as appropriate). If this is not possible, reservations will be cancelled and all fees paid will be refunded. Reservation fees for free tickets are non-refundable in the event of an emergency closure.

## Overview

Serrano Campground is a beautiful place for campers to come to enjoy beautiful
Big Bear Lake. It is a scenic and fairly modern campground that provides
access to a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities.

## Recreation

Visitors enjoy access to a number of hiking and mountain biking trails found
within a short distance of the campground. The Alpine Pedal Path and the
Cougar Crest Trail are nearby and provide access to the Pacific Crest Trail.
The Big Bear Ranger Station is within a mile of the campground. Rangers can
provide maps of the area and answer any questions about trails.  
  
Fishing and boating at Big Bear Lake are popular activities. The campground
does not provide direct access to the lake, but a boat ramp is available about
a mile away. Anglers can look forward to a possible catch of trout, bass,
catfish, carp, bluegill and crappie, among others.

## Facilities

The campground offers more than a hundred sites for tent and RV camping. A
couple dozen sites provide full utility hookups for RVs and a dump station,
with a $10 fee, is located within the campground.  
  
  
Each site is equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills. Firewood is
available for purchase. Accessible flush toilets, showers and drinking water
are provided. There is street parking available outside of the campground.

## Natural Features

The campground is located in the San Bernardino Mountains, within walking
distance of the lake. Accessed by the Rim of the World Scenic Byway, the
campground is situated in a mountainous, pine forest setting. Sagebrush grows
alongside the paved roads.

## Nearby Attractions

The Big Bear Discovery Center is located across the street from the entrance
of the campground. A visitor center, interpretive trails and educational
programs are available, as well as accessible flush restroom facilities.

This group campground is located off the Highway 18, Big Bear Blvd. Vehicle
access is on a Forest Service road on the south side of Big Bear Lake. There
is no potable water available; Please bring your own drinking water. This
facility is "Pack it in. Pack it out." Amenities include 5 picnic tables, 1
double pedestal grill, 1 group fire ring and vault toilets. All pets must be
leashed.

This family campground is located at 6,400' in elevation in a pine/fir forest
near the Santa Ana River along Hwy 38 between Angelus Oaks and Big Bear Lake.
There are 28 sites. Each site accommodates a maximum of 8 persons. First
come/first serve; no reservations accepted. Open during the summer and fall
months only.

South Fork Family Campground

This group campground is located near the National Children's Forest Visitor
Center and the Keller Peak Fire Lookout.

The campground is easily accessible, just off a paved road, Forest Service
Road 1N96. It has forested tent campsites. It is situated in the mountains of
Southern California at an elevation of about 6,000 feet.

The campground offers three group sites, one of which is accessible, for tent.
Each site can accommodate up to 30 people and eight vehicles.  
  
There is drinking water at each group site. Amenities include picnic tables,
vault restrooms, grills, trash containers, group fire-ring, and tent pads.

Activities include biking, bird watching and photography. Within 10 miles rock
climbing, hiking, interpretive programs, nature trails, sightseeing and
recycling and visitor centers. Group Site A is accessible.

Please Note: Refund requests made during or after departure can only be processed when approved by the facility management staff based upon local policy.
Refunds for Emergency Closures: In the event of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team will attempt to notify users and offer alternate dates (as appropriate). If this is not possible, reservations will be cancelled and all fees paid will be refunded. Reservation fees for free tickets are non-refundable in the event of an emergency closure.
Recreation.gov Billing Information
Reservation transaction will appear on customer's credit card statements as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777."
