Our site was a great size and distance from others, and we visited midweek so it wasn't crowded or loud. Highly recommend the Poopout Hill Trail in the area as it leads to a great view of San Gorgonio and the surrounding Wilderness!

Had site 39 end of July and it was one of the very best sites! I would recommend this one and the ones opposite the trees. It has both sun & shade and perfect for a hammock. Our friends were in site 39. It was smaller and closer to the main road, so some noise, but close enough to walk back and forth from ours. It was a queiter area than the lowere numbered sites. The sites across the road from us are all shade, so was too cold for neighbors, but super nice. Showers/RR were extremely clean. It took some doing to figure out how to get hot water in the shower though, and dump station is $10 with CC. Most area to-do's are a drive, but worth it. Jenks Lake is small, but a great place to bike around, picnic and fish. You can also hike there from campground. Thurman Flats is also a great day picnic/wade in river with a beautiful drive. It is more of a stay put kind of place unless you want to drive a lot. Loved it!

Decent overall experience with fair safety and amenities. That said, a couple of things could be better: some individuals repeatedly walked up and down right next to my tent at night, making me feel uneasy. Also, one of the showers was stuck on super hot and hard to shut off.

Experience at Barton has always been great, even when it snowed on us last year. This year was just as we expected. Neighbors were friendly, camp hosts were accommodating, and the stay was great. My only complaint is that one of the neighbors ran their generator for almost the whole day. It wasn't too terrible, but it did kinda break the vibe.
