Alley Spring

The campground was beautiful and clean. Walking access to the river. There was a large park ranger presence which seemed a bit excessive but it did make for a quiet and peaceful experience. The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times a day, along with the shower houses.

Lots of shade. Bath houses were clean plus a swimming hole.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds in the state. Lots of great campsites. Bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers are kept clean. The campground is just upstream on the Jacks Fork from Alley Spring so the water is cool but not cold. Harvey's Canoe Rental is a stone's throw from the campground. Great spot to get firewood, ice, etc.. Pro Tip: The cell reception is nearly non-existent but Harvey's has Wifi if you're having trouble logging into the website to secure your campsite.

Our campsite was our only small problem. Loop 600 #13 is a small pull through on gravel with very little shade. All other sites were asphalt. We turned our camper around so that our door did not open to the road. We were apprehensive about our awning being hit by trailers circling the loop. Other than that, we found bath house and restrooms to be clean. There was great access to the river! We went to the Mill and enjoyed information provided by staff member Clara. She was very knowledgeable about the mill operation and answered many questions for us. We will camp there again.

Why are they paving a camp ground in the middle of camping season? Why not add more electric loops?

Overall great experience. Super clean bathrooms and showers. Camp sites had everything we needed. Just wish they enforced the 10pm-6am quiet time a little better.

We had a wonderful time at the campground. It was clean, quiet and family friendly. We particularly enjoyed visiting the mill to see the spring and swimming at Bluff Hole. Beautiful!

Great time

Great family camp ground. Showers and bathrooms very clean. Close to the river. On weekends watch out for Park Rangers, patrolling heavy! Wear your seat belt and drive the speed limit.

So the entire week we were camping there was construction happening on the campground that would start by 7 am. It really took away from the escaping city life to relax in nature for a week. Very disappointed. Also there are only two river access points on this campground. The first one is right when you come in and there is only a few parking spots. Most of the spots were taken by empty trailers and so you can’t park and walk down to the river. The other access point had a cool cliff to jump off of but because it’s the main place everyone went to you couldn’t enjoy it because there were so many people and because of all the trees down there wasn’t many spots to be able to relax away from the crowd. I would not camp here again!

Alley Spring is one of my favorite places and I love camping at the campground. It’s always clean and maintained nicely.

Good site. Right next to river. Bug grass area with a couple spots for tents. TMobile connects ok right on pad.

Clean location, quick access to river and bathrooms.

The original site we booked was flooded due to weather, it was easy to change sites on the website. We decided the new site will be what we prefer when we camp again this year.

Camped at Alley and floated with kayaks from Harvey’s. The ranger presence was definitely more noticeable than previous years. They were all very friendly and pleasant to talk to. I felt safe and enjoyed my time camping.

Wonderful campsite with paved spots, restrooms were clean and the park was great

Our trip there was great, except for people driving way too fast around the loop and driving the wrong way on the one way around the loop. We had young children there trying to enjoy riding bikes. At one point we walked over to another camper and asked them to slow down, but it continued. Maybe speed limit signs in there would help.

Everything at the camp was just as I remembered. The facilities were clean and maintained daily. The only thing that was concerning was the weather. We could not manage that, but we enjoyed the overall experience. The campsite was excellent, but after several days of rain it was low and collected rain. If the weather had cooperated it would of been an excellent time.

I grew up camping here so I continue to camp here and im 37 and I bring my kids here too.. this last time I came with my niece and my dog. It was peaceful and relaxing. The only issue we ended up having was people telling the rangers that my dog is vicious and dangerous when all she did was bark at other dogs when she would see them walk by so the ranger warned us that we would have to leave if she does that again. I was too annoyed to even bother with it and we left. I could've said well they didnt have to sit next to us and I was there first and im a paying customer but just didnt want any problems when I came there for peace not drama. But other than that dumb incident it was peaceful. The park is always clean and maintained.

The campsite was well maintained, and right on the beautiful Jacks Fork River. Harvey’s is 2 minutes away, and Eminence 10 minutes.

This campsite was super close to Harvey's, which we used for floating. In addition, it had a nice "swimming hole" to continue our water fun on additional days. We also enjoyed the walks around the Alley Spring Mill.

Very nice campground. Had new updates going on. Bugs were terrible around the showers in the evenings. Rangers put on good informational sessions about the area. Will stay there again in the future.

Great campsite. Lots of shade and room for the kids to ride bikes. Brought a portable shade, ate lunch, and played on the river most the day. The bathrooms were a little ways from the campsite, but not too bad if you don’t mind walking. I would definitely go back!

Hot showers, clean sites, great family camping

It is a lovely place however the last few years the conservation agents have been harassing people, pulling them over and searching to the point its hard to drive around the campground. For these reasons I will be recommending another campground.

Campsite was beautiful, right on the river, clean, and the bathrooms were clean. The only thing is, some of the people camping next to us didn’t follow the rules and were up partying until 1:30 AM. Other than that it was perfect.

Alley Springs was very clean and mowed. There was no camp host for the entire time we were there. On Friday we did have a National Park Ranger show up and stop some one in the park. I don't know why but there seems to be better things that they could be doing rather than harassing people in the park. The new reservation process of only allowing online reservations does not make much sense when there is no wifi at the park. Safety would make a good reason to put up a tower at the park so floods could be reported.

The campground was quiet and clean. So where the restrooms. Camping there for a few days was a pleasant experience.

Staff was friendly and grounds were clean. We have been coming to Alley Springs for generations in my family and we had the best time! We will be back to carry on the tradition!

Bathrooms were cleaned daily and the new asphalt pads were great! We will be back!

Loop 600 was clean and well maintained. Pads were freshly asphalted this spring. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The park is always well kept. Bathrooms are clean. Forest Service Rangers are excellent! Thank you for providing such an amazing camping experience for all who visit.

I cant believe it took me 45 years to find this place. I can't describe how beautiful it is. Go. Turn off your phone. Watch the fireflies. Hang out with fish.

We arrived at this absolutely beautiful campground as the sun was going down, got our tent all set up and were enjoying a restful night when we decided to walk to the bathroom at 2:00am. That was incidentally the only place we could get even the occasional one bar of service on our cell phones. We checked our phones (out of habit) while in there and saw a Flood Watch Alert for that area. After going back to our tent with the rain beginning to fall, we thought about that horrible incident in Texas last year with all those kids dying at that camp. We decided to drive to higher ground as we were totally unfamiliar with the area. We slept in our car seats till about 5:30am, then drove back to the campground, which is right next to the river. We broke camp and left but glad we did leave during the night even though the campground was okay. There had been quite a wicked storm directly west of there which did enormous damage (mostly wind, lots of flooding) across several states. Always better to be safe than sorry...or worse.

Alley Spring is a beautiful campground with clean sites and showers. Park Rangers came thru frequently and answered all our questions. We stayed in Loop 100.

Our initial impression was this is a beautiful campground along the Jacks Fork River. Restrooms and shower house was nice and clean. The problem is, someone in management doesn't care about their customers/patrons. 1 week before our stay (May 29 - June 4th), we received an email asking us to not check in until 3:00 due to a paving project, and "the sites are not paved but are currently packed down with gravel and road building marerials". This is the 600 loop, the only loop with water and electric. When we checked in on the 29th - there was no progress made to actually pave the sites or loop. With no cell service at all at the campground, someone decided to communicate with the campers via email on the 29th at 6:15 PM, informing us that the loop was being closed on the 31st - June 4th. Rangers, with a sign posting the closure and at the entrance of the loop the afternoon of the 30th notifying the campers it was being closed for paving. We were refunded for the cancelled days of our reservation, but no other help was given to provide us with alternate comparable accommodations for camping in the area. We are not from the area, not familiar with other potential campgrounds, and this was in the middle of a month long trip. This was a man made issue and poor planning by management - attempting a paving project during the wettest month in MO, with contingency not built in for weather. Just canceling people's plans with no regard to the impact on them is unacceptable! 24 hours notice is unacceptable for something like this which was not a natural issue like flooding! We lost "vacation time" to find an alternative location to camp, pack, move and reset up! And the expense as all other locations we considered cost quite a bit more! We are highly disappointed with the National Parks Service handling of this!

The campground was nice and well kept! Also very quiet!

Beautiful campground! Our site was near the water. We didn’t mind but there is a lot of traffic in that area due to kayaks being dropped off early. Again, it didn’t bother us but just be aware. We had a great time, site was easy to get to, all had fire rings and were a short walk to bathrooms with hot showers. Will definitely return!

Clean campground with nice amenities would definitely campground here again.

Having the entire parking area and camp sites torn up and just gravel left me speechless! What poor planning!

River was low and rough to float even for a kayak. Campsite as always was relaxing and enjoyable. The facilities were clean, reservations easy and neighbors were great. Yes I will be back.

Turn DOWN the heat in the showers!!! Everybody was complaining that the Heat was too high. After drying off from your shower you were sweating so much you needed another shower.

Friendly people clean facilities , beautiful location .

Amazing campground. Very clean and well kept. Zero cell service, which in my mind is a plus. The town of Eminence has service and is only 5 min away. If you go to town eat at Dairy Shack! Site was close to perfectly level. The river added a lot of opportunity for water activities. We will absolutely camp here again.

We were in the 600 loop and the restrooms were always clean, campsites were level and wide. We enjoyed our stay.

The campground needs better cell/internet coverage .

Beautiful place, we had a great time. We were lucky enough to see two bald eagles hanging out by the river, it was incredible. I wish I had my camera! We enjoyed our picnic at Alley Spring, it's beautiful place. The overlook trail that loops above the spring was also really great, there were so many wildflowers in bloom.
